We stayed in amble "fern" for 6 nights. The accommodation is lovely, the best of all options have been provided. The cottage is spacious and clean. The bed extra cosy and comfy. The wireless Internet was very fast and reliable. It's a short stroll into Handorf and there are plenty of eating options. This is a good base to explore the adelaide hills.

We stayed at this gorgeous B and B over Christmas with 3 generations of our extended family and found it perfectly met our needs in every way. The accommodation was extremely comfortable and very well equipped with spaces for gatherings of the whole group of 12 or for relaxing quietly and watching the amazing variety of birdlife. The breakfasts of local produce were delicious and restocked as needed. Everyone enjoyed feeding the horses in the adjacent paddock with the bag of carrots supplied. Roger could not do enough for us and gave us excellent advice and local knowledge for our excursions around the area. The quaint and historic little township was an easy walk away even for the octogenarians and a delight to visit. We highly recommend this B and B to anyone visiting this wonderful area.

We stayed here 2 nights and had a lovely time. The accomodation is comfy and in a lovely spot - walking distance to everything Hahndorf. The fridge is stocked with all sort of goodies for a great brekky to kick your day off. And - the birds are friendly and sing to you.

We spent 2 nights in 'Amble Over' recently to celebrate our wedding anniversary and loved it. The apartment was very well appointed and within close walking distance of the main street of Hahndorf yet far enough away that you didn't feel caught up in the touristy hustle and bustle. We especially appreciated the little 'extras' which Di and Roger have in the rooms, including the quality breakfast provision, the local produce (including Beerenberg jams, nuts, cookies and chocolates), and a port for a nightcap. Had a fantastic meal at the German arms Hotel - highly recommended. We will certainly recommend the amble B&B;'s to our friends and hope to come back ourselves sometime.

My hubby and I stayed at amble Over in august 2012. At first we booked three nights. We loved it so much we stayed another three! Di and Roger are lovely, friendly hosts who made us feel very welcome and comfortable and were overflowing with great ideas for things to do. Our accommodation was immaculately clean and beautifully appointed with a gorgeous country view from the back balcony and stunning view over the gardens from the front. It was really handy to be within easy walking distance of the amazing little town of Hahndorf where you'll find fabulous places to eat and a great array of interesting shops; and, did I mention cellar doors on the main street? Beautiful wineries are within minutes drive of the town and there are plenty more a little further afield. We so highly recommend amble Over if you're looking for a peaceful and relaxing stay in a beautiful place. Thanks Di and Roger, we will return! Pat & Trish.

Lovely and cozy place to stay. The commitment by the owners to source local produce is commendable.
They supplied a good amount of tea/ coffee etc with a few luxuries such as fresh flowers and chocolates.

Staying at amble was Perfect. We arrived Sunday afternoon, driving from Melbourne. I arrived to a lovely little village, with my new Wife - Just got married the day before. We found amble with ease, and Roger was there to greet us. He is a lovely man, definitely the best Host I have ever come across. After showing us the room, which was absolutely gorgeous, he recommended places to see, visit and eat. All were spot on. I will be back to amble, that you can count on.

We stayed for 2 nights with a young daughter who's just turned three, and on arrival, were warmly welcomed and guided round to the back of the property, to have a go at feeding a big bundle of carrots to friendly, neighbouring horses. It was a great, fun way to start our stay at the amble Fern B&B.; Although not a big property, the house had plenty of space to accommodate three adults and a young child very comfortably, clean, and had a lovely ambience and was thoughtfully equipped. The location is fantastic, with just a stroll down to the main street where quaint souvenier shops, delectable cafés, tempting cheese and chocolate makers and restaurants are all vying for your custom. We managed to indulge in a few, and left some for the next time we visit...

We stayed in amble Wren the night of our wedding. The honeymoon suite was perfect, overlooking the beautiful country surroundings. Was decked out with delicious chocolates, biscuits and produce from the adelaide Hills.
Will always remember this place, we might just have to come back for our anniversary next year!Response from Amble at Hahndorf B&B - 12/17/2011

What a treasure amble at Hahndorf is. These fully self contained units have everything you could want, are totally private and a very short stroll to the main street. Beautifully appointed and spacious, very tastefully decorated and set in magnificent gardens that's teaming with bird life. Excellent breakfast supplied with food for both a continental and a cooked breakfast waiting for you. All ingredients are sourced locally so they are fresh & delicious, as well as special treats such as port and chocolates waiting for you upon arrival. Great outdoor area with an excellent BBQ if you want to cook your own. Hosts are wonderful and only too willing to ensure all your needs are met. Plan for a few nights in the area, lots to see and do in the town and surrounds.

We
are both world travellers and have just returned from living in London.
The amble was idealic as it enabled us to "unwind" in very pleasant
surroundings. It is close to the main street with endless world class
restaurants. Opportunities for long walks in the countryside, scenic
drives and little eateries in surrounding towns. Our stay was most
enjoyable with fresh, local produce; all amenities in a clean
comfortable setting. To be awoken by the music of birds and nature is a
rare experience. Roger and Di are excellent hosts and enjoy making you
feel"at home." The ambience, garden setting and stillness certainly was
refreshing. We would thoroughly recommend it.
