  Best part of our stay in Israel. Enjoyed warm unintrusive hospitality of anat and family for the week rental we took from Xmas eve. Apartment has great range of TV engl. language channels, mod cons of a remote for Heating , Microwave and Blackout blinds. Carmels main shopping street for eat in, take out or groceries is just around the cnr incl. Haifa Orchestra's main concert hall. We took a hire car and found easy access to Christian Sites of Lower Galilee we wanted to visit from this comfy base, as well as Zichron Yaakov (Israel's Stellenbosch! for fine wines) and archae. site of Caesarea (not to be missed). Lots to see in Haifa e.g. Bahai gardens, Louis Promenade views, Marc Chagall, Sculpture park near by and environs by train (to akko). On foot you can take the bus or walk both ways to Haifa University with it's 2 galleries but also great views. It's on the main bus route 39? to most of Haifa's main malls- if you were a shopaholic like the Grand Canyon etc. If you have kids there's a zoo across the street- which app. has a huge collection of Nile Crocs(not the shoe!). If you accasionally opt for not taking the bus from haifa seafront- you will certainly keep fit on your hols or hire a sedgway for some fun! We found walking the various sets of stairs (1000 steps) up or down quite enchanting, pausing to take in the views and scenes.
