The community of Southern Dunes Golf and Country Club was first established in 1993, it is located approximately 8 miles south of I4 exit 55 on State Route 27. It is a community of approximately 700 homes located around the multi award winning Southern Dunes Golf Course and is approximately 20 minutes drive from Walt Disney World. As you enter the community there is a lake to the right and trees lining the roads and edging the golf course, all of which give the area a ‘country’ feelWithin the community there are 3 swimming pools, there are two tennis courts and small children’s play area with swings and slides.

Just outside the ma...in gate to the community are two large supermarkets, Winn-Dixie and Wal-Mart which will have everything you need (Food, Pharmacy, Clothes etc). Wal-Mart is open 24 hours and has a petrol (gas) station.

This newly built 4 bedroom home has a master suite with ensuite bathroom and an additional 2 family bathrooms.

The furniture is of a high standard and features a comfortable sitting room around the main TV. The kitchen is fully furnished and well equipped with a dishwasher, large fridge and full size cooker with microwave. There is a breakfast bar and a dining area. The home also features laundry facilities and the home is fully air conditioned.

Outside is a well equipped patio area facing on to your sunny pool with golf views. Part of the deck is covered for some relief from the sun and occupies a good private position.

  The service was first class. The home was clean, spacious and tidy. Although a little further away from Orlando than we would have wished, the local amenities at Haines city and Davenport more than made up for this. Overall the location of the home was good, being situated away from the usual tourist areas. The disadvantage was the drive to the theme parks if you were caught in traffic.

  'Best Holiday EVER'

  The holiday started off with a 'BANG'.
  Due to a mistake with Direct Holidays and our car hire through Dollar, we found ourselves desperately short of money.
  Direct Holidays (Thomas Cook)said they would sort any problems out. They didnt, in fact they couldnt have been less helpfull if they tried.
  That case is still on going, however, we were determined not to let this spoil what should have been, the perfect holiday. We will not use Direct Holidays again and will make a point of telling all our family and friends the reasons why. Contempo and Southern Dunes however we would most definitely use again.
  The home on Southern Dunes was magnificent. Clean, big, plenty of room for us all (6 children and my wife and I)and the pool...Well...The pool was in constant use. The children loved it. The security guards on the gate, the gardeners, the pool guys, in fact, everyone we met during our stay were kind, considerate, polite and generous to a fault. Not at all what I expected as like many ignorant British I though the American people to be a little over-the-top.
  I have never been so wrong before in my life.
  Everything was just right. We were lucky enough to have a huge department store on our doorstep and also plenty of places to eat nearby.
  The longest drive for us was to watch the rocket launch at NASA and again that was still close enough for the children not to yell "are we there yet" every 5 seconds.
  The theme parks were again, on the doorstep...Perfect.
  We were so impressed that we have decided to look for a property to buy in the US in the new year.
  I loved the holiday, my wife did also and the kids were blown away. You have spoilt us so much we wont holiday anywhere else.

  Dream holiday

  The Southern Dunes is a very well manicure quiet estate, very peaceful, despite being a golfing centre you were never aware of the golfers.I am tempted to say we did not receive any service on this holiday,but that is not true although we never saw anyone or were disturbed by any one,The service was there unobtrusive In the background, the pool was clean and maintained without any disturbance of privacy.There were clean sheets, towels and all the small electrical convieniences of home (hairdrier,iron toaster Dvd player)not to mention washing machine and drier great when you have kids in and out of the water every 5 minutes.The gate entry security was very reassuring, the Walmart just off site was fantastic, not to mention the Mac d's, burger king and other fast foods nearby for something quick and easy.
  The home its self was luxurious good quality furnishing, very clean and well maintained.
  Although the home was further distance from the parks than we have been before, the roads were faster flowing and travelling time was the same or quicker. I cannot pin point one favourite part of my holiday as we all enjoyed everything we did.
  The holiday home was a bit of a waste as we were out every day, but it was great to know you could enjoy the freedom and space when you got home and have the privacy of your own pool.
  We will be back and would use the Southern Dunes again as there were no negatives.

  Great holiday home

  Excellent home. Situated on golf course. Golf course excellent. Well furnished and equipped. Very secure feeling with guards on gate.
  Itis probably too far away for a full on Disney holiday but if only going to parks for 3-4 days then not so bad.
  Only down side was no bin for rubbish.

  Southern Dunes Golf & Country Club is a great community and very popular with our guests for the reasons you mentioned. Each home is provided with a trash bin in the kitchen and another in the garage and i am unable to locate any information to state that either of these were missing or reported to us.
