Additional Location Information
A 3 minute walk brings you to Sarunochaya Bus Station. You are close to the Fujiya Hotel, Yunesasu Resort and Lake Ashi. It's 20 minutes by cab from Hakone Yumoto Station. There is amazing hiking around the house and easy trail access.
The Hakone area has tons of tourist spots, and there is lots of local fun too.
We often drive to a fishing hole (great for the kids) where you BBQ your catch right there next to the river.
If hiking is your thing, there are lots of great hikes all over the Hakone area and there is easy trail access from the house. It's possible to walk the entire ridgeline from Lake Ashi to Hakone Yumoto (the house is located near the ridgeline about an hour from Lake Ashi (by foot in the mountains). There is no better way to relax after a long hike than a soak in a Japanese osen!
