Located behind the Hamilton Island Marina Village is the 4 star luxurious 1 bedroom apartment, Anchorage 4.
It features a balcony off the main bedroom and an extra large balcony off the lounge. The main balcony has a BBQ and an outdoor setting for you to appreciate the breath-taking views of Henning island, the surrounding Whitsunday islands and the magnificent sunsets.
The apartment has one main bedroom with a Queen Size bed and an ensuite with a spa bath. The open-plan lounge room has three double sofa beds with inner spring mattresses, suitable for the kids. One sofa bed has a concertina wall providing some extra privacy.

We loved our stay in the apartment. It was very spacious, had a great bathroom and kitchen, and was very clean. The furniture was a bit dated but that didn't faze us as we were out and about most of the time. The weather wasn't the greatest while we were there but the apartment overlooked the pool which we would've used if the weather had been nice. The buggy was great and allowed us to travel around the whole island without any problems.

The unit was nicely set out with everything you could possibly need, the inside had plenty of room how ever the main couch was terrible and needed to be thrown out. It simply needed to be thrown in the rubbish. Everything else was fine, saying that when we mover the couch we found a dead cockroach and huntsman, which indicated cleaning wasn't done properly. The only other thing was the buggy kept going flat everyday after very little use and yes we plugged it in everyday, when I called up to tell them it has broken down they simply said we can't do anything as they are exactly made to go up steep hills, I thought that was pretty silly as it was provided with the house but no backup what so ever. Overall 5 out of 10

Location was good and the apartment block itself was very nice from the outside. The unit was nice enough however the couches could definately do with being updated as they are a bit worn and dated.
We also had ants get into our food. There was no dishwasher powder left so we couldnt use the dishwasher and the detergent bottle was empty and there wasnt a good dishcloth so I had to buy paper towel etc to clean the kitchen with.
We also had to find out own way to the airport when we were leaving which was hard to organise as none of the shuttles would allow us on with our baggage. -

We loved everything about this holiday, the service was excellent and our unit was perfect including the location. No complaints whatsoever. Highly recommend this stay to anyone and everyone.

First the pros:
- nicely located on the island, but the island is so small, any location is good
- private buggy to move freely around the island
- the open outdoor area: large, and covered for rain/ shade
Then the cons:
- the place was not clean: stains on walls, on pillows and bed sheets (those yellow stains which seems to be there since few months), ants
- the lack of cooking ware: limited number of glasses (3 for water), mugs (3), forks/knife, only one pan so old and dirty you could not use it, no lighter to use the gas appliance.
- no bin in the bathroom and toilet because: as a note on the wall will mention 'ladies, please use bin in kitchen as it is emptied more often'. Note there is no cleaning service included, therefore it is up to the occupant to clean the bin anyway; so i am not sure the point of this note.
- for the first time in a rental accomodation, we found no salt/ pepper or those basics usually available in short term accomodation
- the company in charge of the unit was suppose to call the day before leaving to arrange departure, they did not so we had to send them a reminder the night before our check-out was planned. They first told we could have a late check-out, but when we woke-up, we found a text message informing that it was a mistake and had to leave in an hour. Later, another text informing that they will come and pick-up the keys of accomodation and buggy at 9 am, that is 1hour before official check-out, because the next customers were coming!
Overall, bad service and bad value for money. Anchorage is a nice place though, and i would recommend staying in another unit than unit 4. Units are privetely owned and unit 4is currently on sale (check hamilton island real estate website for details), this probably explain why the place is not looked after and owners are not looking for positive reviews. -

We stayed at this property back in 2007 and at that time was above average. This time around it really shows its age, lots of dust, rust, (uncomfortable pillows, bed, not enough face towels - 1 shortage, only a sample soap provided, noisy air-conditioning in one word its not worth the money paid and most of all greatly disappointed.

great place to stay the apartment was great and the golf buggy a must to have ,staff were friendly did not hear any neighbours very relaxing, the thing i like most about hamilton island is that it is the cleanest place on earth . cheers see ya soon.

A little disappointing with limited amount of towels, overall cleanliness and lack of contact to ensure that the accommodation was sufficient.
I have stayed in anchorage 04 twice before and recommended it to several friends (in which they have also chosen to stay in anchorage 04) but this time around was not the same. I felt that the apartment needs a thorough clean. The sheets were stained and the overall appearance of the apartment has declined.
There were only two towels available (no floor mat, hand towel etc). I understand that not all accommodation is supplied with pool/beach towels but I found the lack of hand towels etc extremely poor. Upon arrival, the valet attendant told us that "the towels were in the dryer and that we could take them out soon" giving the appearance that they literally were just used by the previous occupants.
The company icare was poor in it's service also. I have previously used another valet company and they took the time to contact us to ensure that everything was ok with the apartment. I understand that I was told that someone would contact me the day before departure to organise a pick up time but I was only contacted at 10am on the day of check out. I feel that that this lack of communication is also disappointing.
I am happy to discuss these issues with you further if you wish as I do enjoy staying in anchorage 4 but was quite disappointed overall. -

Loved the apartment! Disappointed ; bed linen was not ironed and floor was sticky--only 1 towel each was allocated and no hand towel in toilet. Otherwise it was great--lovely pool etc and the valets were terrific,on time ,cheerful and very attentive! Would go again !

Really good location - a peaceful and enjoyable stay with beautiful views and great family facilities. We loved the freedom that the buggy gave us and enjoyed sitting on the veranda with the cockatoos for company.

After much research, we decided to stay at a private apartment on Hamilton Island. While there were a few minor issues with the apartment (a broken door handle etc), these were pointed out by the apartment manager on arrival. The apartment was a little dated - could do with some new furniture, it was very clean and comfortable and had a great balcony with BBQ. A complimentary buggy was included with the unit which isn't the case with all private rentals. The buggy did have some battery problems but once we notified the apartment manager, we had a replacement buggy within the hour. Overall, I would definately recommend the anchorage apartments, they were clean and comfortable at a reasonable price.

On arrival we had to strip and wash the bedding including the cushions on the sofas, they were pretty awful. The water in the machine was filthy, which makes me wonder when then apartment last had a good clean. Some new pillows on the bed that weren't yellow would be nice! The dishwasher made a terrible noise and we had to put it on when we went out for the day. The outdoor furniture was dirty and some cushions mouldy. We were not told about departure arrangements which led to some confusion on the day. The size and layout of the apartment was good and delivery of food by Coles was a godsend. The overall island was a bit disappointing, many of the restaurants were closed and bar had limited evening hours, struggled to amuse ourselves in the evenings. Apart from constant rain and the lack of entertainment on the island, we will not return for a family holiday to Hamilton Island.

it was a nice place however from reading the description of the unit i thought that it was a two storey unit. but when we arrived it was only one storey and my group found it a little bit small and squashed. there were also a few utensils that didnt work very well. other than let it was fine

Although our trip was wonderful and relaxing we we're very dissapointed with the cleanliness of the unit and it was supposed to be stocked with necessities. We were shorted many kitchen items, bowls spoons, most items only have 2 or 3 pieces and when on vacation who wants to do dishes 3 times a day. Our towel supply was a grand totoal of 2 of which both were very old and ratty, even holes in them. The unit itself was not cleaned very well and had mild growing on the bathroom walls. Since these units are privately owned, I would definately make sure the next time we travel to this beautiful island to stay in another unit. Overall our experience was good.

this is the second time we stayed at anchorage 4. The first time was great and that is why we had no hesitation in staying again.
Last December when we stayed we found the facilities to be disappointing. No wine glasses that matched, odd dinner plates and numerous other things. The location is great and we had no other difficulties but we just cant see how you would expect a family to stay there without a full dinner set etc. -
