Have to say what an amazing place Hamilton Island is! We spent 6 days at anchorage 9 and wanted to stay forever. Apartment is fantastic, large, clean, plenty of space for a family, everything you could want for. Excellent advantage having the Golf Buggy as you really do need it to explore the island and especially seeing as to rent one it would cost you $74 per day! We ordered Coles on line, delivered to the door but supermarket on the island not too expensive if you want to shop locally. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be coming back! Troy our host met us at the airport with the buggy and helped us back to the apartment was very friendly and helpful, even allowed us to check out at 1pm on departure as no one else was coming in. Cannot express enough what a fantastic place for a family holiday. Thank you

We often holiday at Hamilton island and have stayed at a wide range of accommodation there. Now that our kids are much bigger(older teenagers) we find it is much better to stay at an apartment as we need more space and at least 2 bathrooms. We have stayed at many apartments and we really enjoyed this unit. it actually looks better in real life than in the photos. It was spacious and well equipped. The large wrap around balcony is terrific and we spent alot of our time on it. The only downside was the BBQ was really hopeless and needed replacing. However when we mentioned this to our unit manager he said the owners had just ordered a new one going in shortly. The other good news is it had a brand new golf buggy to drive around in. I would highly recommend this place and would be happy to stay here again.
Very nice apartment

I desperately want to give this place five stars but I just can't. I can imagine that this is the best apartment in the block as it has lovely views and high ceilings and is very spacious for two couples or for a small family. It is a very nice apartment to stay in! We had a brand new buggy which was fantastic and the young man who picked us up from the airport and took us a=back at the end of our stay was on time and lovely!
But there were a few problems with the apartment. The TV in the bedroom doesn't work at all, fly-screens are ripped in some areas of the apartment and the second bedroom has cardboard taped in place of broken glass panels in the window. From previous reviews, it seems this had been like this for quite a while.
We requested that the second bedroom single beds be turned into a king bed (it is offered as an option) and we arrived and it was left as two singles and no one answered the phones during our stay to fix this when we arrived.
There was a wasps nest on one of the outdoor fan blades above the BBQ and the outdoor table and wasps kept flying around so we couldn't eat outside which was a shame. We requested it be removed and we were told someone would come in a couple of hours and they never did - we were there for five days! Also the apartment comes with nothing in the kitchen. No salt or pepper or oil so you have to buy everything. The cupboards and fridge will be completely empty when you arrive. I can't understand this as surely guests leave what they have bought behind as we did? We had full oil salt and pepper that we left. I'd be interested to know if it stays for the next guest.
We were also told there was no hairdryer so we packed ours and there was one. Maybe the inventory list needs updating!
All that aside we would recommend the apartment highly... just be prepared for those few small issues with a fairly expensive apartment.
Great views in a good sized apartment but a bit neglected

This is our second stay in this apartment. One of the best in the group. Last year everything went well apart from TV in bedroom not working, broken flyscreens, broken downlight above bbq on balcony and probably one of islands oldest slowest and squeakiest buggies. This year we came to same apartment and found TV in bedroom still not working, BBQ falling to bits and shooting out flames, microwave not working and broken louvres in a bedroom(taped up with cardboard) to name a few. None of last years problems were fixed. These things didnt dampen our holiday spirit and I couldnt be bothered calling to have them repaired. We didnt stay in the apartment all day and realising that all of things that have been neglected since last year the chances of repair would be slim. The biggest concern we had this year was how unclean the apartment was.We arrived to find sandy sticky floors. I mopped floors 3 times and water was still filthy. There was sand also in our sheets.I dont think we had clean linen. We should not have to go on holiday and spend first day cleaning floors, fridges, linen, balcony etc.
Apart from all this we liked the home and came back to it again this year because of location, views and size.
We were part of a group which hired 4 apartments for 9 nights at anchorage this year and last year (a fair amount of money). We would have to be convinced that apartments were inspected and maintained properly in order for us to return.

The condo was beautiful and everything was excellent. The only challenge was the cruise offered as a bonus. It was with Indigo Cruises was very disappointing as they said it included snorkelling on the great barrier reef. However there was nothing to see with the snorkelling part of the trip.

I had guests from OS who wanted to see the GBR and I chose Hamilton Island. It was my first trip there and the lady I spoke to recommended anchorage 09. It was a beautiful apartment and big enough for the 6 of us. It felt like you were living amongst the tree tops with an incredible view of the water and mountains (hills that looked like Mountains).
One negative was a blanket that was left on the lounge for the pull out bed, was full of holes and didn't look that appealing to cover yourself with but the overall experience was fantastic Read more

We had a lovely stay at Hamilton Island and kept very busy. People operating business's on the Island were very friendly with a large variety of activites to do if inclined. Anchorage 09 was very nice roomy, clean and comfortable for the 2 of us and 2 others if required. It is also very private and quite. We did think the daily rate per room on the Island was a bit excessive even though all very nice. With that and the cost of activities and some restaurant prices you do have to save your money to enjoy. I guess that's what time out is all about. You have to enjoy the water as that is the main activities to do which we did. Very enjoyable.

We were greeted at the airport by a friendly staff member who showed us to the apartment, helped with luggage, and gave us information about the apartment, things to do, and instructions about operation of the golf cart. The apartment has spectacular views of the ocean and nearby islands from the wrap-around balcony. The apartment is comfortably and tastefully furnished and well-equipped for simple cooking, including a grill on the balcony. We were visited by flocks of charming cockatoos that sat on the railing and let us get pretty close. You need the golf cart to get anywhere. The stay would be improved by providing 2 towels per person instead of one. Unfortunately, we had stormy cool weather all 4 days of our stay, and no boats were going out, so we weren't able to get out to the Reef or to Whitehaven beach, our intended activities. Instead, we took a hike on the island, and visited the local zoo where you can hold a koala, and looked at the harbor. The local beach is only swim-able in high tide, which we missed. So, we had a very relaxing vacation - I read much of the book I brought. Another very friendly and prompt staff member got us to the airport at the end of our stay.
Very nice stay. Excellent family location.

Great unit with lovely views. Nice & spacious. Booking & pick up at airport all very smooth & staff very nice. Other than needing batteries replaced in almost every remote control unit it was excellent. Very clean, with plenty of bedding, toiletries & bits & pieces you need. Only downside was buggy very old, knocked up compared to other units & struggled, but dId still get you around. Absolutely necessary to have buggy as location high & hilly. The lack of seat belts in the unit buggy would be biggest disadvantage, particularly if you have children. It would also be nice if pool at units had some seating.

The apartment was spacious, modern, clean and well equipped. With an excellent long and large corner balcony that spread around the apartment with nice gas BBQ and good view.
Pick up and drop off service provided was friendly, helpful and prompt.
Location was very pleasant, away from the big hotels in nice leafy cul-de-sac a short buggy drive away from amenities.
The only thing not positive was the golf buggy, which was quite old, with extremely worn out tyres and short battery life. Felt a bit unsafe going down the steep hills when the roads were wet due to tyres. And very slow going up hills- had a few people laugh at the buggy when doing so! Worked okay though.

Great unit , Fantastic views of the Whitsundays, Apartment was everything that it looked on the web.
Really close Tree Hill( some Fantastic sunsets over the islands cocktails w,th cocktails)
Only thing iffy was the worlds slowest buggy (struggled to get up the hill) and we both are not large people. We could have walked faster, Definetly needs upgrading!!!
But at least it was included Love Hamilton Read more
Thank you for your feedback, this was reported to the owners who have now purchased a brand new Buggy.

Anchorage 09 was wonderful and the young lady who looked after us was a treasure.
Do the golf tour with lunch. Fantastic.
Didn't enjoy the sunset cruise with Cruise Indigo. We were told it was a seafood buffet but it was a3 course dinner. Long and drawn out and the desert was sad.

In terms of service, the booking process was easy and the staff attentive. We were met at the airport and assisted to our apartment!
The apartment was fantastic. Watching the sunset from the balcony was so beautiful and the general views were amazing. This was our third visit to the island and the best view so far. It was tucked away and nice and quiet. The apartment was well provisioned with all the necesities. The golf cart, who we affectionately named Doris was reliable.
Hamilton island is a beautiful place to visit and the apartment is well situated to help you take advantage of all the best bits. Wonderful restaurants, great activities.

We were greated at the airport by Briar the most helpful and friendly person possible nothing was a problem for her she gave us a tour of the island made many great suggestions for our stay. We were celebrating our anniversary and found the anchorage the perfect place to stay we loved all the facilities and found the golf buggie a definate plus we were able to move around the island freely. We also used the shuttle service which was reliable and always on time. We booked a day trip out to reef world which we highly reccomend it was fantastic, excellent day. We had a relaxing time and next time look forward to taking the family with us.

This was our 3rd stay ay 09 The anchorage. The previous stays were very pleasureable. Because we had a comparison from the last 2 times it came as a shock to see the state the unit was in. So many issues that I can't list them all here. From the stairs and filthy entry to the shoddy maintenance of the unit.2 of the 3 air con remotes din't work, the bbq was so filthy we couldn't nor wouldn't use it, the outside balconys were absolutely filthy as was the outdoor table and chairs. There was one towel per person, 1 hand towel for 3 people staying, myself, husband and daughter, 2 washers. the buggy that was provided with the unit was "the slowest buggy on the island" words directly from the island mechanic. The first time I drove it I nearly had an accident as there were no brakes. It had to go in for emergency repairs. This didn't address the laughable slowness of it though, and we limped around the island at a snail pace. The buggy was filthy with ripped seats, no rain covers nor seat belts which most others have now hv fitted.
It appears to me that the owner of 09 anchorage is not prepared to spend any money to maintain this unit. The cleaners need to be monitored as they clearly are not doing their job,
Overall for a 14 night stay which wasn't cheap it was highly disappointing and we will definitely not be returning to this resort. We travel to Hamilton Island twice a year as my husband sails in various events and I will be researching somewhere else to stay. Charging high rent then scrimping on maintenance, cleanliness and quality is not acceptable.

Stayed late May and everything was fantastic. Was a bit worried about how our 6 month old would go but didn't have any problems as she loved the portable cot in the room and loved going for drives on the buggy! Wouldn't have any problem recommending this apartment! The view from the balcony is amazing and even had the local birds come and visit us who weren't afraid of coming and sitting right next to us! Will definitely be returning as soon as possible!

This was a wonderful experience for the entire family. The accommodations were more than exceptional and provided everything necessary. The service associated with the unit and on the island in general was fantastic. The island itself was full of activities and experiences that we will never forget. This experience simply added to our overall impression of australia during our year long stay in the country.

Spent a very enjoyable week at anchorage #9. The unit was very spacious, luxurious even, and well equipped for a longer stay. It was December so we certainly needed (& enjoyed) the aircon too! The pool and the buildings within the apartment complex were very well looked after & the kids loved watching the goannas sunning themselves beside the pool - even with us in it! It was delightful to be met at the airport, jump straight into our buggy and be shown to the unit. We did experience difficulty with the buggy breaking down on the first day as a result of the last visitor not charging it properly, but this was addressed immediately by the customer service officer and we were able to get around the island on the very efficient free bus service anyway. We happened to be at Hamilton the week that Oprah visited and eventhough there was lots of additional people around, we found the apartment spacious and private enough that we weren't bothered. We had been organised enough to have Coles Online deliver our week's supplies of groceries on the first day so we were well stocked and only needed to use the supermarket on the island for milk and bottled water. Only suggestion I would make would be for a clothes airer for the balcony to hang wet togs on return from the pool or beach but regardless the chairs on the balcony worked just as well. We were a little unsure booking online but we found the booking agent very efficient. We had a simply wonderful time and will most certainly be back.

We had a sailing holiday booked, and anchorage were great at organising 2 nights accommodation before we sailed and 3 nights after we berthed at the end - what a great way to start and finish to the holiday! The girl even met us as we berthed, and took the bags up to the apartment. We were lucky enough to have the corner apartment which had a fantastic corner balcony and great views and beautiful sunsets - which can only be watched with a glass of champagne of course! Would recommend anchorage to anyone.

We stayed at anchorage No.9 for a week towards the end of the school holidays. The apartment was clean and had most of the things you need on a holiday. The kids spent more time in the pool than anywhere else. Great location and the staff welcome was very efficient. Could use an upgrade on the golf cart but other than that it was perfect.

Very lovely apartment with stunning views. Well appointed & nicely decorated. Loved the spa bath where you could lie with champagne & enjoy the sunset! Peaceful location - nice walk down to town & short walk to have drinks at sunset from One Tree Hill. Minor detail - would have liked an oven - surprised that an appt of this rating didn't have one actually! We had a bit of buggy envy - ours was older, but it still did the job when required!!
Over all we enjoyed 5 days & wished it were longer.
