MelbourneExcellent location
Left on 05/26/2012 for a stay in April 2012
Location and size of the apartment were Fantastic. The only reason this was not rated higher is that the sheets and bed linen were in very poor state, bathroom tales were old and tatty, being an island were most fly in from a distance away I would have thought beach towels could have been supplied and the furniture is looking very tired.

Chelmsford, Essex, EnglandFantastic trip of a lifetime, but unit needs up-dating
Left on 08/30/2011 for a stay in August 2011
The unit was in an ideal location, the views were spectacular and we enjoyed our nightly possum visits. Pick-up and return to the airport were great and the staff were efficient and helpful. The apartment looks a bit tired, in need of a revamp, particularly the kitchen, we had family in the unit next door and theirs was fresher and cleaner, our plus points were access to broadband, which they didn't have, but they had complimentary tea and coffee, ideal when you've just arrived. A must for the unit is a clothes dryer, it could be discreetly hidden on the patio and would save enormously on the tumble dryer bills. Also, a minor point, a supply of toilet rolls for the week would have been good, you don't want to purchase these when you are on holiday. Everything else we needed was provided. The pool was lovely and so quiet, we almost had it exclusively to ourselves. The best time ever !

No air conditioning, ants and cochroaches in unit.
Unit itself was nice, great location and buggy, but ants and coachroaches and lack of air conditioning for a few days made it not very pleasant overall. -

We had the best holiday, we were greeted at the airport with the guide & buggy and taken to our units. We had two adjoinng units for our family aged 4 - 80. The use of the spa, pool and BBQ were excellent. It didn't take long to get to the shopping centre. We made use of the tours, eating out and cooking at home some nights. I must add the view from the unit was great, with visiting wildlife a hit with us all. Overall the best time ever, would recommend to all.

Left on 04/07/2011 for a stay in December 2010
When we booked it said there were 3 beds (3 bedrooms) No there were 2 bedrooms and a couple of camp stretchers and as we were all adults it was awful and uncomfortable.
The appartment was old and not well looked after. It was crawling with cockcroaches and when we complained we were left a can of spray. My daughter in law is from Germany and she woke through the night with 2 cockcroaches crawling on her. The lights did not work in the bathroom and when we asked we were left 1 light bulb for 3 lights to change ourselves.
There should be a governing body to control the state of the accomodation. We were at Hamilton Is a few years back and it was beautiful. We were all so dissappointed we would not return any time soon. The accomodation was expensive as it was Christmas time and that would not be a problem if the place was half decent. 6 very dissappointed people. It wouldn't have been so bad if somebody actually cared. -

MelbourneStay somewhere else
Left on 04/07/2011 for a stay in January 2010
This apartment was in a terrible state of disrepair. It was also filthy and the sheets were flanelette, pilled and didn't fit the bed. The airconditioning didn't work, the lights didn't work, the cupboard door wouldn't close, the oven door was broken, the DVD player didn't work and the list goes on. I gave a list of over 25 items that were wrong with this apartment after our stay and I understand now it has been overhauled. I wouldn't risk it again though and with so many other beautiful apartments on the island I would definitely stay somewhere else.

PorepunkahHoliday great but accommodation should have been much better
Left on 04/02/2011 for a stay in September 2010
My family and I enjoyed our stay at Hamilton Island even though the weather was not the best we tried to make the best of things. Although I have to say when we arrived at Fragipani 7 I spent 3 hours cleaning the apartment, including vacumning, washing floors, bench tops, table, fridge etc were very ordinary. We were pretty disappointed in the cleanliness and also the lack of maintenance. For example the air conditioner in the second bedroom did not work at all and our two children had very uncomfortable sleeps. Due to the position of the bedroom they couldn't have windows open either because there was too much outside noise which meant, no airconditioning and not able to open windows and considering the humidity due to the weather sleeping was very difficult. We eventually got someone to come out and look at it but because the apartment is privately owned they said they couldn't do anything because they would need to contact the owner first and go from there which I thought is ok for future guests but for us during our stay it was of no help at all. In the kitchen there were minimal utensils from memory I think we had only a couple of forks, the bedding was very old and I think the sheets had been originally white but were now grey. The shower head was held on with some sort of tape. Don't think that this was good enough. We are actually in the accommodation industry ourselves and know for a fact that the apartment is tired and needs money and time spent on it to bring it up to an acceptable standard.
As for the actually holiday as I said before we made the most of things and were not going to let certain things spoil our r & r as we don't get too much opportunity to take breaks away. -

Loved the stay at Frangi, went for a boys trip to Hammo.
had a broken a/C which they gave good service to try and fix on the weekend. Food was delivered via management group from Coles Online, which saved a heap of money.
Nice quite location, need the buggy to get around.
Cheers
