      Totally satisfied

Left on 04/12/2013 for a stay in April 2013

We recently stayed at Shorelines 17 (April 2013) and had a great holiday. The apartment was all we expected it to be including being very clean despite some previous comments.

The apartment is in a great location close to the marina and having access to two pools within the complex (Shorelines and the Edge) was great for the kids when we didn't want to travel to the beach or resort.

Management of the unit had changed approximately a week before our stay which may have addressed some of the previous comments regarding the state of the apartment. We only had one issue (a broken seatbelt on the buggy) which was address within 2 hrs of reporting it.

We had a brilliant time at Shorelines 17. The view is one of the best there is on the island and the apartment was lovely. Perfect location on the island, fairly quiet. Access to two pools was great - The Edge pool is amazing. Would definitely go back. Pick up and drop off to airport is easy.

Left on 01/29/2013 for a stay in December 2012

number 17 shorelines was filthy place to stay ,i had to wash all the sheets & towels ,vaccum the whole apartment & also vaccum the actual lounge because when we sat on the lounge there was grit on it .There was mice or rat poo underneath the kitchen sink ,the BBQ has never been cleaned so we couldn't use that .On top of everything i told them all of this & nothing was done about it so i did it all :(
Other than that Hamilton is a beautiful place i would go back but not to Shorelines 17.

Response from Hamilton Island - 01/29/2013

      Hamilton Island

      Manager

      Hi Jen,

Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback, allowing us to ensure that the property is kept to a standard we maintain.

The on-island Manager confirms he personally spoke with you and rectified all issues that were mentioned at the time and would have been more than happy to assist with any further issues that arose during your stay.

The linen is being reviewed to determine whether new is required to be purchased; I can assure you that all linen and towels are laundered before all stays.

The BBQ is cleaned after each stay and is then re-greased to prevent the plates from rusting in the tropical climate. All cleaning issues would definitely have been rectified if caretaker was advised.

I understand the internet is working, however there was some technical issue with an iPad – I hope this was able to be resolved.

We, and the owner of this property, take pride in maintaining a high standard property and guest experience, therefore we are gratefully sorry to hear this is not what you felt you experienced.

We hope to be able to welcome you back and reform your opinion of Shoreline #17.

      Sincere Regards,

Stunning views and design concept spoilt by lack of cleanliness

Left on 12/02/2012 for a stay in November 2012

The view from the master bedroom is without doubt the best of my australian adventure.
Stunning design detail to property with many split levels, really interesting.
Disappointingly non of the linen was pressed. (Our tour of aus took us to some remote locations inc. Wilson's Prom, and the Great Ocean Road where we stayed in some low rated Backpackers, not once did we encounter un ironed linen.) The ceiling fans also required cleaning, frankly the cleaning of the property was superficial, plug holes full of hair and detritus, lounge suite tired and in need of cleaning. ( As an owner I would be concerned re this aspect of the property maintenance.)
On arrival there was no kettle although this was quickly resolved, within the hour, unlike Wi Fi which took 2 days to resolve an issue of no connectivity.
For those intending to stay more than a couple of days get food delivered by Coles, well worth the saving. (Despite delivery charge) Hamilton Island, despite this, was not as outrageously priced as anticipated, pleasantly surprised and loved the airport check in.
Golf buggies were fantastic novelty as a mode of transport and most enjoyable.
For the active a trek to passage peak/ point is a must, for those seeking an exclusive isolated beach Coral Cove is well worth the trek. ( It's remote!!)
Try and book as many activities in advance especially Dent Island lunch trip as this fills up, as does Sun Sail Charter, apparently!!,!!
Dent Island across the straights is a golfers paradise. Reminiscent of Royal Westmorelands Barbados.
Mixed views on recommending this appt. having stayed in much cleaner and cheaper.

      Nice 3 level split apartment

everything is nice, nice furniture, comfort bed, excellent location etc...

Only thing we don't quite like is the cleanliness. Dusted timber floor; Dirty sofa, blanket...well not very clean to me. We spent half an hour to clean the floor to make ourselves comfortable as we have infant.

      Absolutely beautiful!!!

Left on 12/20/2011 for a stay in November 2011

Shorelines 17 is a beautiful modern and very spacious apartment and the view is magnificent.

It is in great location away from the centre of town a little but having the buggy was excellent as we got to explore the whole island. The Edge pool is to die for with great views and is generally very quiet and peaceful.

We were met at the airport for transfer to the apartment with no hassles at all.

It was our 20th wedding anniversary so even though this is a rental property, for the money you are paying to be honest we were a bit disappointed in the cleanliness of the unit and it needed a few repairs. ie: the blind in the master bedroom didn't work and was cable tied up so it was very bright in the morning and hot in the afternoon with the sun beaming in. There were also a few opened toiletries left in the bathroom, but overlooking that it was just a magic place.

We had a wonderful holiday and are very much looking forward to our next visit to Shorelines 17.

We had great weather & we loved the apartment. Plenty of inclusions made our stay easy - like washing powder & cleaning products. The furniture & linen were great and we loved having 3 toilets. Plenty of space and we loved the fridge with icemaker & water. The buggy was very handy - although was very slow! The only complaints are no beach towels & the blinds in the master bedroom let too much light in. We will definately be returning.

      Shorelines 17 - Niiice!

Left on 10/30/2011 for a stay in September 2011

It was modern, spacious and the view is magnificent. Being open plan, you can hear every sound throughout the apartment...especially when relaxing in the master bedroom. Even though this is a rental property, for the money you are paying - there should be more of the fundamentals i.e. drying racks, pegs, dish washing detergent, more cutlery and oven trays. Fresh towels should be delivered every second day, and a nice bunch of flowers upon arrival would be a classy touch. The location is lovely - away from the busy beach side of the Island. The buggy is very old and very slow - and has no seat belts - so wasn't appropriate or safe for our young children. The washing machine is also very dated. The Edge and Shoreline pools are beautiful. We had our groceries delivered by Coles and that saved us a fortune. It was a wonderful holiday and I hope the owners of Shorelines 17 consider some of my suggestions.

      relaxing

Left on 09/06/2011 for a stay in April 2011

I would recommend this apartment to anyone. The particular apartment was one of the best in the complex for view and proximity to the pool areas. We loved the infinity pool.
The view was great but also interesting with all the boats and planes coming in every day. Sitting on the balcony was so relaxing. I am so pleased we did not stay on the other side of the island where all the resorts are. We thought this side had far better views. Also more to watch.
Having the little golf cart was essential and perfect for our family of four.
We would love to come back sometime.
The weather was spot on for us, not too hot, but warm enough to want to swim.
The master suite with spa bath was fabulous only problem was finding one of our 2 teenagers having turns in the spa bath when we wanted to have one :)

We loved the apartment, the views, the facillities, and the whole island exepereinece which was ruined by a screeching possum in the ceiling every night of our entire stay. I have no problem with wildlife but nothing was done to remove this critter from the ceiling during our stay and for that I was extremely disappointed by the lack of any effort other than to be told to put up with it.

Lovely holiday apartment, great location with beautiful views

Left on 08/30/2011 for a stay in July 2011

We stayed at Shorelines 17 for 5 nights during our recent family holiday. It's a lovely, modern apartment in a great location. The Edge pool was stunning but unfortunately it wasn't warm enough for us to use during our stay. The booking process was very easy and straightforward and all staff that we encountered were very friendly and efficient. Having a buggy included was fantastic however it probably needs to be updated to one with seatbelts. Overall we were very happy with our stay. A couple of recommendations...we didn't think the apartment was ideal for young children due to the steep staircase. Even though one safety gate was supplied it could be potentially dangerous. Also we found it quite noisy, there was an issue with the fridge that was very loud, possums at night and general noise due to being floorboarded over 3 levels. One minor thing was the blinds didn't fully cover the windows so as soon as the sun was up the bedrooms were full of light. Also there's no broom or sharp knives, a couple of small things that are easily fixed.

      The view from our deck

Our holiday rental was just wonderful. The veiw was to die for and the layout of the unit was just what we required, with entertaining up stairs and private areas downstairs.
Just a short walk to both pools and a great little buggy to run around the island in.

Great location and venue but let-down by poor service.

Left on 04/02/2011 for a stay in March 2010

I can not say enough fantastic things about the apartment itself. Simply stunning views and very comfortable and modern decor.
However the whole experience was marred by the poor customer service received by the holiday rental company upon returning home. We were forced to fly out early due to an impending cyclone, we had no choice we were told we had to leave. Our travel insurance did not cover us for the money we lost on the accommodation. We had two nights remaining, and at $350 a night we weren't happy at all about this. Upon calling the company we were told that refunds were not given under any circumstances. There was no offer of even being able to come back another time to stay for the nights that we had paid for. Furthermore, in an email the company basically said that perhaps I should spare a thought for staff that remained on the island. I found this response to be particularly appalling as this was completely irrelevant to our inquiry and of course we were concerned for anyone who remained on the island. Overall we were left feeling extremely disappointed by the whole experience and would not recommend using the company to anyone.

Hamilton Island was wonderful, our apartment was very ordinary

Left on 04/02/2011 for a stay in December 2010

We stayed with overseas family in shoreline 17 for xmas 2010.
We payed around $600 per night and the apartment was run down but had a fantastic view!
Our buggy was the slowest on the island and needed lots of work ( we were informed by a staff member that the owners were trying to sell so didnt want to pay in the up keep)
When we arrived they were no sheets on the twin room beds(which were also suppose to be togher) and as the lady looking after our stay was also the cleaner and everything else you can imagine it took two days to get sheets!!
There werent enough face towels for all guests ( which apparently was all the owners provide).
We found it confusing how one girl could clean an entire 2 storey apartment in less then an hour but according to her thats all thats allocated.( she was a lovely girl and very welcoming). So it wasnt suprising to see dirty dishes left in the dish washer.
We were dissapointed in the apartment esp as next door was superb!!
We were also disapointed in the awful mini zoo!! and the fact the staff at the tour desk were very rude.
But overall our hols were fab and the pools lovely, Iwill def return to hamilton island again but just not to shoreline 17.

Left on 04/01/2011 for a stay in May 2009

The surroundings were very nice, all was arranged fine. Too bad that the appartment was not clean. Ants were swimming in the watercooker and the cleaningcloths in the kitchen smelled awfull. When we got into the bath, we sat in it together with millions of tiny worms! Worst holiday feeling ever at that particular moment. Our host came by the next day, and did his best to clean and make us happy. The features in the appartment were ok though.
