Nine of us (two families with teenage children) stayed at Villa Illalangi for 10 days and enjoyed ourselves immensely. The location is excellent, the views breath taking and the house is awesome. Mostly we lived outside around the pool and shared our meals at one of the three outside settings. However when we had bad weather on our last two days, the men retired to the downstairs 'man cave' (bar area) for movie watching, whilst us girls read magazines and books in the 'ladies lounge' (upper level lounge room). Unfortunately the resident caretaker Hans was away on holidays and so we did not get to meet him, however Percy met us at the airport and made himself available if we needed him for anything (which we really didn't). I would highly recommend Villa Illalangi.

What a terrific review - thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and we're pleased that the bad weather was limited to 2 days! Villa Illalangi is perfect for families who want to spend time together, yet still find some private time and space for themselves - the layout of the property provides both indoor and outdoor spaces to escape and relax! We appreciate your comments and are happy you had a wonderful holiday at Villa Illlalangi. We hope you can visit again!

SydneyAbsolutely amazing

From the minute we walked into Villa Illalangi, we were struck by the unsurpassable views and the serenity of the home.
Our stay at the Villa was a surprise for my mum's 60th birthday and it couldn't have been more perfect. The house is extremely spacious and was great for a group like us, which included two couples, one child and my mum and grandmother. There are multiple living areas inside and outside which made it possible for us all to relax and gave everyone space to get away if they needed it.
Whilst some may consider the kitchen and bathrooms a bit dated, everything is very well looked after and more than comfortable. Slightly dated kitchen and bathrooms really don't mean anything however when you step outside. The views, gardens, pool, spa, pool house and various decked areas are all amazing - we simply did not want to leave the Villa to do much as it was just so beautiful.
We had quite strong winds whilst we were up there which was disappointing, however the Villa has been so well designed that no matter which way the wind was coming from we were able to find an outdoor area that was protected.
The villa was wonderfully well stocked, allowing us to order in from Coles (the property manager kindly unpacked all of our fridge / freezer items) and cook our meals, relaxing at the property and making the most of the Villa.
Everything about our stay was easy - from the great service we received from Jill prior to our stay, to our pick up / drop off from the airport with Hans the property manager.
I can honestly say I have never relaxed as quickly and thoroughly as I did at Villa Illalangi and I can only hope we get the chance to return one day.Response from Hamilton Island - 02/03/2013

I've stayed on Hamilton Island numerous times, in a variety of different houses, hotel accommodation and villas, though without a doubt villa iLlalangi is far by the most impressive!
Although the house is older in style, it contains everything you could possibly need for an island holiday. The views are stunning, garden is immaculate, and the pool is incredible!!Response from Hamilton Island - 01/02/2013

We stayed for a week with extended family encompassing 6 adults, 2 children and a 10month old baby in March 2012.
The house is fantastic. Plenty of different areas to escape too for some solitude from a large group and an outdoor pool and entertaining area that cannot be surpassed.
The house is now 27 years old but is in very good condition with a caretaker employed permanently to keep it so. Hans lives in a separate villa onsite and was fantastic in collecting us and our luggage from the airport (and back again) and generally being available if we needed him during our stay.
The only heistancy I would highlight is if you are travelling with a baby who is on the move like us. Whilst the house catered well for him with cot, highchairs etc, it isn't child safe in many respects. We had to barricade him in to the lower level den during down time as the internal stairs and upper level ballastrades were such that he wasn't safe to roam.
Outside of having babies with you the house is fantastic in all respects. Big Bedrooms, very well furnished, several bathrooms and again the outside entertaining area caps it off.
We had a coles online delivery sent to the house for our groceries for the week which allopwed us too eat in as often as we wanted too.
The 6 seater buggy that is included with the house gave us our transport for the week around the island without drama.
We caught bad weather while we were there but had a great time nonetheless on the island and would highly recommend both the house and the island for a group family holiday like ours. -

What an amazing property. Architecturally stunning and a lovelyl view from every window. Bedrooms were beautiful with lots of storage, blankets, etc provided. Fully equiped kitchen came in handy. We placed a food order online with Coles which arrived the day before. The caretaker kindly packed away our groceries so it was all ready for us when we arrived. Plenty of quiet areas in the house to just sit back and read or ponder and a nice lounge room with bar. The outside is possibly more stunning than inside. The views are amazing, overlooking Catseye beach and the resorts and also Whitsunday Island. Surrounded by rainforrest gave us total privacy. The pool got a lot of use and also the spa. 3 seperate outdoor settings gave us plenty of choice where to eat meals and we made the most of the built in bbq. Driving around the island in our stretched golf buggy was fun. Only a couple of minutes to everything. I should mention that staying here also gave us full access to the resort facilities. The main pool was great fun and the wet bar was quite a novelty. We had fun canoeing, and recommend the jet ski tour and the golf course. Only negatives, one of the airconditioners broke down while we were there and we lost power a couple of times ( faulty generator down the road ) Other than that we had a very enjoyable experience here and will definitley return if we get the chance.
