We had an amazing time at Shorelines 16. Collected upon arrival and an early check in. The apartment was stunning and everything we had hoped for but we were slightly disappointed that for the price, basics like sugar and salt weren't available and especially if only staying a few days buying a bag of sugar didn't seem warranted(we did however leave some for the next guests). We did have trouble with the buggy on day one but luckily got a tow back to the apartment by some Island workers and is likely a result of the people before us not having charged it the night before. I loved the tranquility of the property and the breathtaking views and certainly met and exceeded my expectation. We were slightly disappointed that the master bed was covered in hair when we arrived, but we didn't allow this to set the tone of the holiday. The air conditioning and ventilation within the apartment was excellent and I loved the fridge with the ice maker. There was ample space for the two of us and would be ideal with slightly older kids but given it is 3 levels not the best choice for small children with all the stairs. We didnt use the BBQ but it didn't look all that appealing but lets be honest, when standing on the deck are you looking at the BBQ or the amazing views!I would definitely stay at Shorelines again, the service was excellent, location amazing and all in all allowed us to have an amazing holiday! The pool was a bit further from the apartment than I anticipated and a certain level of fitness required to negotiate the super steep stairs but once at the Edge Pool it was well worth it!
Fantastic accommodation - we are 2 adults + 6 and 4 year old

Positives: Greeted by lovely young lady and taken to the accommodation.
Buggy is included and if you have kids and don't want nagging this is essential on Hamilton Island.
Shorelines 16 was clean and neat as expected for accommodation in this price range. The view was stunning from kitchen lounge but even better from the open Planned master bedroom. If it's romance you want this bedroom will impress. If you have children it's nice to awake to the view when your being woken up. Towels where plenty. I washed them and put in dryer. Kitchen is well appointed and has a nice fridge and oven which we did not use.
Location was great it was quiet and close to everything, in saying that everything is close, small island. If you are a first timer to the island you can eat and use the pools anywhere. Imagine the island is all one accommodation and it's no more than 10 minutes to anything from anywhere.
Negatives: if you have small children this is s tri level townhouse. There are stairs down from living to one bed and bathroom and another to master bedroom. There are no doors to not allow access. Pool is not an option if little kids the stairs are impossible to navigate with them. The balcony and BBQ where not so clean and the birds play a large part in some of that, we ate on the table but did not use the BBQ so can not comment on it. The bedroom is open planed which includes a spa and shower and toilet. I don't like open toilets, personal preference, but there are 2 other loos to use with doors. Also the kitchen has nothing, no salt, no sugar or basic coffee satchels, nothing so bring what you need. That was the biggest disappointment. Cheaper places provide basics.
Overall the experience was good

I had previously stayed at this property before and found that it was pretty much in the same condition. The unit was very comfortable and has a great view. Loved the buggy and the girl who pick us up and droped us off from the airport was lovely and she could not do enough for us. The air conditioner started leaking and was fixed promptly. Overall the experience was grat and I would recommend this property.

A beautiful up market apartment with magnificent views

A beautiful apartment with absolutely magnificent water views. Have stayed twice and would definitely return to this apartment. Is on a steep slope and has several levels, perfect for families and one or 2 couples but difficult for elderly or persons with disabilities with many inside stairs and bedrooms on lower levels. Quite difficult for elderly to take luggage down stairways. A golf buggy comes with the apartment (which is the mode of travel on Hamilton Island) is extremely useful for exploring the Island and access to the main resort and restaurants. This apartment is on the higher end of a set of apartments (ie most uphill end apartment)and therefore enjoys the magnificent water view to the rear (island views, it is not on the main beach side)and tree/flora views to the side. Very peaceful.Golf buggy broke down day 1 but was quickly replaced by the owner which was very much appreciated. Excellent accommodation on Hamilton Island is not cheap and this is about average price with similar quality units, but if you are looking for this type of apartment they wouldn't come much better. Highly recommended from a very regular and world wide traveller who has no connection to the owners or accommodation company in any way. If you can pay the price go for this apartment you will not regret it (unless you are concerned with the stairs).
Fablous views, cold pool

We loved our stay views amazing!
Staff were very helpful.
Our only disappointment was that neither pool was heated so we couldn't use them. This is very important to us especially with children. Unfortunately we wouldn't return if the pool wasn't heated. Other than that it was great

The place was beautiful, the view was amazing, the golf cart was great. Location great. Access to the edge pool - spectacular. Cleanliness - lacking. The place needed a thorough spring cleaning - dirty walls, fans, baseboards. There were little tiny ants in the condo - not sure if this is everywhere throughout the island. Also some light bulbs burnt out, not the end of the world but when you are paying good money you expect a bit more. Great pick up from airport. Check in was easy. Great for the kids, lots of space. A little sparse on the toiletries and garbage bags. Paying what we did you would expect not to have to go out and buy that for your stay. Would have appreciated more than 2 wine glasses as well. A little fixing of the inventory and a really good thorough cleaning and it is a gem!
Relaxing and Family Friendly

I found this apartment relaxing and very family friendly. We got picked up from the airport and was shown to our apartment buggy style! The room had just been cleaned and there was a high chair and porta cot as requested.
Great view and master bedroom has lovely spa and feels very relaxed. The 2nd room is smaller however more than adequate but no view at all.
The only downside to the apartment for me personally is that the bedrooms are on the lower floor and as there are floorboards on the upper level when people are walking around upstairs it's quite noisy downstairs in the bedrooms which unsettled my baby on a number of occasions however I do understand this is not a real problem for most people. There is some bathroom products and cleaning products but no house tea or coffee supplied which I thought could've been done.
All in all I'd definitely recommend this apartment to anyone!
Just a great experience

This apartment was very comfortable, with everthing you need. Well designed. Travelled with another couple and the apartment was more than large enough for the four of us. Great views and loved the little visitors every day (Cockatoos)Hamilton Island in it self wasn't that good and I don't think I would return, but good to go and tick off list of places to visit. I think you would be better off spending your time on another island.

Lovely and relaxing and close to everything. Had trouble with buggy as it kept going flat. We have been three times before at different places and the other buggies were fine.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Shorelines 16. Very convenient to have the buggy provided. The property is probably starting to need a little updating however, we enjoyed being on the end of the complex.
The Edge pool access was amazing, just gorgeous.

The shoreline 16 apartment was very nice and clean. Our two children loved the place. It was fantastic sitting on the balcony looking out at the wonderful view, we did not want to leave. The gentleman who picked us up at the airport with the bugy was very polite and showed us some of the sites on the way. He also took us through the apartment and told us everything we needed to know. The price to stay is expensive but found it was worth every cent The facilities were great. Highly recommend the place. We have a wedding on the island in april 2012 and will try to get the same apartment again.

An excellent unit with fantastic location but not for the elderly due to 3 levels. General unit was excellent except for cleanliness - very greasy stove not cleaned after past guest using the oven.Other areas fairly clean but not 5 star cleanliness. A little more care by the cleaning staff and this unit would be very hard to beat.
Private use of buggy excellent. Pick up and deliver to the airport very much appreciated.
Fabulous Holiday apartment
Left on 04/03/2011 for a stay in January 2011 | Kim
We travelled to Hamilton Island with our 2 children who are 16 and 20. The apartment was wonderful in that the kids had their own bedroom and bathroom and the living areas were very spacious and comfortable.
The view was just incredible. I have a picture of the view on my computer desktop to constantly remind me of the fabulous holiday we had. Memories of sitting on the verandah and drinking in that amazing view of the Whitsunday Passage will stay with me for a long, long time. It was amazing how relaxed we were so quickly and how much we needed (and got!) a proper holiday.
Perhaps the only downside was the distance from the apartment down to the pool but we soon learnt to drive our buggy down through the apartment complex and park in one their visitors spots.
The apartment was quiet, clean and everything we needed was provided. Loved having the buggy :) The apartment deserves a five star rating!

Great location and view very dirty apartment

Loved the location and the view was fantastic very roomy apartment. Lacked ambiance very bare. Apartment very dirty, lampshades dusty, spa bath looked grotty - didn't use, outdoor verandah I mopped down and mop was black. Bed linen very thin. On the day we left when we were picked up the driver said won't be a minute and then he ran downstairs pulled the sheets of the bed and put them in the washing machine, yuk that explains why they were so thin. Really needs professional laundry. I would stay at Shorelines agian but definately not this unit as I understand different units are managed and cleaned by different companies

A brilliant destination for a family holiday. Plenty to do for the kids, with the beaches, firing range, gym, boating activities, but also lots for the adults - restaurants, resting, beaches, resting...
A wonderful feeling of serenity comes from just standing on the balcony, taking in the view and breathing in the amazingly fresh air. Love the buggies too. The lack of general traffic makes it feel more like you've really 'got away' from city life and makes it more of a holiday, not to mention the fun you have driving the buggies!

We have been to Hamilton Island 4 times in the last couple of years and have found Shoreline apartments the best location. We have a young son so being close to the restaurants and shops is very handy. The pool is a good place to lounge around and the view from the decks is not hard to take especially with a cool drink. You can watch the boats cruise into the marina or navigate their way through the island - just lovely!

We traveled with out extended family and occupied four units nearby each other. Overall the standard of accommodation was very good and the location was OK, but a bit distant from the action. The main complaint I have is the safety of the buggies. The one we had had brake trouble, with one wheel locking and we could not get a replacement as each buggy is the responsibility of the unit owner. Another one of our party had brake trouble also, and in the hilly terrain of our location this was dangerous. Otherwise we had a good time, and may do it again in the future. However it was expensive, and not all our friends would afford it.
