ely, minnesotaA Grand View of the Pacific from a Great Vacation Home
Left on 12/28/2012 for a stay in December 2012
Gecko Song is all its is touted to be and more. I and two buddies spent a week luxuriating in the trade winds and the views on the elevated deck with the grand view of rainbows and a roiling ocean. The home is spacious, comfortable in every way and fully stocked with all any group could need. Good quality beds combined with a kitchen that begs to be cooked in and wifi and tv mades us feel like we lived there for years. The location is on a quite street across from the lava tubes and a mile or so from the famous National Botanical Garden.
A day drive around the volcano in a big circle was a highlight with the drive to the top of Haleakala and the 48 degree F temps that reminded us of home and why we were in Maui. Beaches in the area are all unique but the State Park only a couple miles from Gecko Song was the best Hawaii has to offer. The hike thru the bamboo forest to the 200' waterfall at the National Park is not to be missed either. -

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful home...
Our family came over for our Son's wedding on Black Sand Beach and it
was beyond our expectations.
We felt right at home and truly relaxed in lovely Hana.
Geckosong will always be remembered as a happy time for our family.

Morrison, ColoradoBeautiful Cedar Home with flowers, gardens, and an ocean view!
Left on 08/13/2011 for a stay in May 2011
Our family of 7 stayed for 3 nights in Gecko's Song House out in Hana, Maui, Hawaii to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday with our adult children. The kids are in their late 20's and early 30's with one 10 year old granddaughter, and they just loved the house and surrounding gardens. Our daughter and granddaughter picked plumaria flowers off the ground and had fun making their own leis. The beds were very comfortable, the bathrooms spacious and clean (no mildew) plenty of towels including nice beach towels, and a large deck facing the ocean. Janet Russell was in town while we were there and so we met her in person. She is very nice to work with during the rental arrangements. The only negative thing about Gecko's Song House are the outside flying insects at night. Just close the screen doors quickly! The interior of this home is very beautiful cedar which I especially enjoyed. The rooms are spacious, especially the great room with the kitchen, dining area, and livingroom. There is covered parking downstairs which we really appreciated since it rained quite heavily during the 3 days we were there in Hana. We did visit the Black Sand Beach area. It's very nice with the rugged cliffs and black sands. Our family also spent a day at the Haleakala National Park and the Seven Sacred Pools area. We all had a lot of fun there. Our 2 older sons even found some local night life at the lounge in downtown Hana. The local people were very friendly. This home is secluded in the gardens, so there is lots of privacy and relaxation. I would recommend this home to those wanting to stay out in the Hana area.

Every luxury resort try's to emulate the natural beauty and elements of Hana. Lush green, tropical landscape, serene, fresh rain water flowing down the mountains, dramatic ocean views...wow! After exploring what Hana has to offer, going back to the resort was a let down. We particularly enjoyed Gecko Song. It was like being home, with all the comforts, but better! While we played and explored all day, it was nice to come "home" to a spacious, clean, luxury home with a sprawling ocean view, large deck area and lush botanical trees and flowers surrounding us as we relax and try to take it all in. We watched the sky change colors at dawn from the master bedroom every morning (while lying in bed). The kitchen is fully equipped and has lots of counter space. Alot of evening time was spent sitting around the dining room table eating, sharing funny stories, playing board games. It is the best family trip we have ever had.

The garden's around this house are so lush and beautiful it is difficult to describe in words. You have to see it in person to really appreciate it. The house is huge. It was very peaceful and relaxing. We all had a great time. The sunrises are beautiful.

Our family had an enjoyable stay at the Gecko. There were only four of us, and the house was large and accommodating. Very, nice private property. Pull in after a day on the beach (15 min. to best beach - Hamoa Beach; some other beaches closer), hose off outside, or shower on the upper deck, hang things to dry on the line, plenty of towels and linens, washer/dryer inside. We brought groceries from Kahului and it was easy to prepare dinner with the kitchen, equipment, and outdoor grill provided; important with few dining and shopping options in the Hana area. It was warm, but I could not find any hotel or rental with air conditioning and was ready to rely on the breezes; and the extra fans helped.

The Gecko house is a a large and lovely home near Hanna. Very quiet with a huge yard. The raised deck overlooks the ocean in the distance. Gourmet kitchen with everything you would ever need to prepare meals. Interior of the home has high ceilings with exposed hardwoods. Internet connection and plenty of room for a large group or family.
