The Old Style is a stand alone beach house just steps from the sand as seen above. The picture below is taken from the living room window. It is called the Old Style since it was once the old vicarage house of the Wai'oli Mission. There is lots of light, great views & a very restful feeling. Single wall redwood was the preferred building style back in the day. It is beautifully painted to accentuate the style of the time. This was our first stay here but not on the island. I have to say we loved it the most. At first it was my husband, daughter and I, but my niece added-on last minute. So there were four of us and it was a little cozy, but totally comfortable. It is in a premium locale, just roll out of bed to your cute, well-equipped kitchen and big picture windows framing lovely Hanalei Bay and Middles surf break. Everything was perfect, although could have used a working lightbulb in the bedroom closet. The feel of the cottage was true to the Kauai vibe. Very close to walk to town for shopping, dining, entertainment. Can't wait to go back again.
