Seaside, OregonAn amazing accomodation that meets all of our wants and desires!
Left on 11/11/2010 for a stay in April 2010
We've held our Kauai Bali Hai Surfing & Cultural Immersion Week Retreat in Hanalei, at the Hanalei Bay House, for the last two years. Finding a location like this home that is so conveniently close to Hanalei village and the surf spots, is ideal for our guests. The spaciousness and comforts of this lodging are wonderful. The great room's features has an open and modern kitchen, breakfast bar, sound system with a selection of Hawaiian music, lovely lanai that overlooks the ocean, mosquito netted lanai chaise lounge which we all enjoyed at night, a BBQ grill for your fresh seafood catch, and the collectible surfboards on the walls. We offered our guests hula, lei making, surf video nights, luau dinners, and more, in this lovely common space. Guests loved the beds. The beach gear available like beach towels, chairs, mats was very helpful, in allowing guests to pack less. Both Retreats have been "over the top" and to a large part, this beautiful Hawaiian styled home in Hanalei is why. We'll be back in april 2011 to experience the Hanalei Bay House again! Southern CaliforniaMaking Kauai Even More Perfect
Left on 11/06/2010 for a stay in August 2010
This is our second stay at a house managed by Kauai Island Vacations (we left a review for that trip on their Facebook page). As before, saying that we were satisfied is an understatement. The house itself is beautifully designed, well-furnished and -equipped, and flawlessly clean. The layout provides privacy to two adult couples and lots of space to hang out together. It's probably not impossible on the North Shore to find other nice houses, but ultimately, as with hotels, resorts, and dining, the experience is made or broken through interactions with the property management. Holly and Don Lazo and son Dylan anticipate what their guests will require and it's provided. They are elegant expats from a California artist colony who fell in love with the place and figured out how to support their art, lives, and kids, not easy to do on the Islands. It's a treat when they show up, but they never intrude. We consider them friends. Can't wait until next time!
