Honolulu, HawaiiTruly a treasure that provides and inspires pleasure

Even before we actually arrived, we already felt welcomed by the friendly and prompt responses by the owner, but that was a mere prelude to what wonderful-ness we would find once in heavenly Hanalei at Hale Ha Ha. We took over the entire house for our son's wedding, and found it not only housed everyone comfortably with 5 bedrooms/4 baths, but we all absolutely loved every single thing about the house; inside and out. The decor is eclectic in a tropical surfer artistic way, yet has every modern amenity and lovely beds and bedding. This is not your typical vacation rental, with generic furnishings and artwork...this is a wonderful, warm and welcoming environment that feels like visiting a friends home. Although the wedding was large, and guests were staying in other rentals and hotels, Hale Ha Ha became the gathering place of choice. The house lends itself to entertaining due to the large screened in lanai and big dining table. The owner(s) take such loving care of the property and their guests and it is stocked with everything you could hope to find for beach activities and fun including bikes, an art area, outdoor shower and ping pong table . The location is wonderful and there is room to park several cars. And the views of the mountains and waterfalls make this the perfect respite and retreat. Overall one of the best vacation rentals one could ever hope to find...and indeed it is a find!

We had a spectacular time! My husband would take the bike out at 6am to check the waves (although it is just 2 blocks) and I would prepare a fresh tasty organic breakfast from the local farmer's market with all the handy kitchen gadgets. The town has a delicate combination of city conveniences and laid back island "je ne sais quoi". The house has so many toys that you just wouldn't normally pack in your bag. We almost stayed in Princeville but we are so pleased we found this place in Hanalei. Oh and the snorkelling was awesome!

I am not exaggerating when I say My husband and I had a flawless stay here. We actually stayed in two of their suites over our 10 day visit. Both had great views, light, comfortable linens and adequately stocked mini kitchens. The place as a whole had all of the extra's we wanted. bikes to grab and go, beach equipment, games, outdoor showers, laundry facilities etc. The grounds had obviously been given a lot of personal care and creative attention. In fact that may be the best word to describe the place, personal. If you are looking for a big hotel feel this is far form the place. We wanted a quiet private place where we could drop into the vibe of the town and this couldn't have been better. It is a close block walk to the beach which we found ourselves making at sunrise before plopping lazily back into bed and the main Hanalei drag and pier is a short bike ride away. Simple, easy, everything you need. We are hoping to return this Spring with our extended family ages 8 to 90. to take over the place!

Hale Ha Ha is like a dream home away from home!! The moment your bags are unpacked, you literally feel like it's your home. Not only is it thoughtfully stocked with all the items you'll need for a perfect vacation (i.e. bikes, beach bags, games, arts and crafts, boogie boards..you name it), but it blessed with an amazing energy and groovy decorative accents. There's even a herb garden where you pick fresh basil and chives!!! My family has had so many fond memories at Hale Ha Ha and it is dear to our hearts! We highly recommend staying there and enjoying it's beautiful house and perfect location (we almost never use our car when we are there since you can walk to the beach and town). A+ vacation spot for those who want to feel like they live on the island!!! It's a spot that will make you want to reevaluate life and wonder why the heck you don't just live there!!

Our stay at Hale HaHa was more than we dreamed it could be. This was my 60th birthday present and we were blown away but all the little details that were attended to. The kitchen was stocked better than my kitchen at home, there was not a speck of dirt anywhere and we had the convenience of walking anywhere we wanted to go.
I can't wait till my next birthday so we can go again -

I cannot say enough good things about this home. The excellent location is just one of the amazing things about it: beautiful views of the mountains. It's only one block from the most gorgeous beach on the island, made famous in the movie South Pacific, and only one block from the charming, idyllic, "surfer" and yoga-lovers town of Hanalei, a north shore gem with no hotels in this town, with an organic local farmer's market twice a week and a locally caught fresh fish market! The place itself is beautiful, has a positive feng-shui feel, and is incredibly clean, safe, and totally and fully equipped... the most perfect place for a family. There are lots of amenities like bikes, boogie boards, a surfboard, ping pong table, even a fully equipped ground floor arts and crafts room where my young children painted every day. Thanks to owner, Susan Patner, who is a great hostess and is incredibly responsive to anything you might need, with great advice on how to take advantage of the island, whether it be surf lessons or where to shop.
