IdahoAll around great place to stay in Hanalei; location can't be bea
Left on 07/29/2012 for a stay in February 2012
My husband and I rented the Gardenia and my brother, his wife and their 10 month-old rented the Hibiscus. Overall, our experience was great. Downtown Hanalei, with all of it's great restaurants, is just a short walk away. The property is right across the street from a grassy beach access and a lifeguard tower, so it was very easy to get to the beach. Both kitchens were outfitted well; Gardenia had a mini-fridge, the Hibiscus a full fridge with full kitchen. Beds were comfy and the veranda with hammock was great (Gardenia). The house is a little dated, but we didn't mind that at all. If you have small children, I would advise you choose the downstairs unit, rather than one of the upstairs units due to our experience trying to child-proof the stairs.
Maile was super-nice and easy to work with. I would be remiss if I omitted that we were a little uncomfortable with a comment made by one of the people checking us out. A ten-month old (the kid loved sand so much, he was eating it by the handful) coupled with one of the four us us forgetting to take our shoes off a few times resulted in a "talking to" about sand in the house, which was a bummer after such a great week. We understand that the local custom is to remove shoes and there were a few instances people forgot.; however, most of the time, shoes were left outside. After all, I am pretty sure we paid a cleaning fee, so... ???
That said, I am always one to cut some slack, knowing that dealing with tourists can be tiring. We would stay here again in a heartbeat, only next time I will be on sand-elimination patrol. -

Huntington, CaliforniaBeautiful Hanalei Villa!

This had been our third time to Hawaii and by far it was the best trip we have had. We were lucky enough to book the Hibiscus Suite and it was the best five days we could have asked for. My husband is a surfer so it was such a treat to be minutes from the beach. He could surf while I walked the beautiful length of Hanalei Bay. I would highly recommend the Hanalei Villa to anyone looking for a laid-back, relaxed Hawaiian vacation in one of the most amazing houses in Hanalei. We talk about our vacation to friends all the time, can't wait to come back !

My stay at this vacation rental was such a treat. The house itself is huge, it sleeps 12 people and so it made perfect sense to invite my entire family on a trip to Kauai with me. When we checked in, the place was very clean and provided all the amenities that we needed. I'm not of a going out to eat type of person so it was lovely to have a kitchen with all of the cooking ware that we needed to prepare meals for the family. Another pleasure about staying here was that you are literally footsteps from the spectacular Hanalei bay, and with in walking distance to town. The property is located in a quiet residental neighborhood and is well maintained. The owners were very helpful when I had questions about the place and had a very quick response time. I can't wait to go back to Kauai and stay here again. Such a lovely place
