We spent Saturday night at the property. A scale from 1-5, I would grade it 2. Whoever maintain the property, they need to do a better cleaning job.

harbor island is a great place, we have stayed there 6 times and tell everyone what wonderful place it is. However, for the first time we were disappointed in our house. it could be a great house if someone took the time to freshen it up a bit. painting inside and out would be
first, the screen-in porch had ripped screens, cleaning or replacing the living room furniture, fixing the dining room table, the back deck had boards sticking up and the front
steps had some loose boards.the downstairs unit was a battle of bugs.
the island was beautiful and we will continue to recommend it to friends. Your company was very helpful to me when i was looking for a place to stay. Your staff was great.
I think for the cost of the house, we expected more.
thank you

we have vacationed at harbor island many times in the past this was by far the best home we have stayed in. lots of room for a large family to move around in. many happy memories were made during our stay. seaside getaways were very easy to work with. sharissa (excuse me if her name isnt spelled correct)was especially helpful to us she was very friendly and patient late on a friday evening.

These are a few of our favorite things: beach, dolphins, watching the baby egrets learn to fly, sunrises and sunsets from the porch, pool at the club, nature walks or rides on bikes or golf cart, porch swing, great seafood nearby to prepare in the beautiful kitchen, plenty of board games and space to play them! A super beach home.
The only hitch was the separate quarters downstairs (ground level) - a perfect set-up for kids but there is no inside entrance to the main house so they felt cut off from the rest of the family - I would advise you to plan for adults in the downstairs.
Seaside staff was great - thank you for your prompt and attentive service! -

The house was just wonderful but-I might be picky, that is the way i am at my own house-the house could be a bit cleaner. Especially on the ground floor, wher my husband and i slept while we left the upstairs to our sons and theur children. Fortunately there was a vacuun cleaner ant I used it. The sad thing is that you have renters who come before you and are not that clean and do not care. The trash cans were just horrible and smelly. Fortunately I had brought my own large trash bags and some cleaning items and dishcloth. Also the ground floor around trash cans could be swept and kept cleaner. In spite of that I would do it again.

First thing I saw climbing the stairs was the broken handles on the storm doors. $20 repair. Inside the house was beautiful but back sliders were difficult to slide. Nice place, enjoyed seeing the turtles hatch and it held our entire family. Living areas were spacious and inviting. Golf cart was an issue that finally got resolved; thanks for the credit back. Bed linens looked pretty worn.

This was our third trip to the area, we have stayed in 2 houses in the past on Hunting Island but those homes were unfortunately lost. This was our first experience at Harbor Island and it was beautiful. We absolutely love the area and have never been dissapointed with a property thru Seaside. Many thanks!

Eureka, MOGreat location, not so great house overall
Left on 08/10/2011 for a stay in July 2011
Large house with great beach access and location. Watched fishing boats and dolphins playing behind the house daily. However the house is not up to standard for $600/night.
Stained carpets and furniture, fake plants and 3ft Pelican covered in heavy dirt, 3 rooms without pillowcases (cleaning service brought some even though the owner did not provide), downstairs 6th bedroom looked like poor quality motel-smelled & had dirty furniture- and outer screened in area below (with torn screen door) filled with trash and broken furniture as well as an almost inoperable lock - could not use that room. Upstairs twin room can only be accessed through the master bedroom - very awkward for adults and not advertised as such. No internet access in clubhouse as we were assured prior to arrival.
Will we return to Harbor Island? Yes, we love it. Would we consider renting this house again? Not unless significant upgrades and cleaning are done. -

We really love Harbor Island. This was our third trip to the Island, first time in this house - we usually stay next door - with the pool, but needed a bigger house this year. The house provided lots of open area for our large family to not be on top of each other. Loved the screened porch - and the view most of all!
I would like to see the "bedrooms" described a little better. The upstairs is not quite "two" bedrooms, due to enering one bedroom through the other. And the ground floor "two" bedrooms also lacked privacy to each other. But we certainly made it work!!! -

Everything was wonderful with this house. The spacious living area and kitchen fit our large family perfectly. We have small children so oceanfront was a necessity and it was so easy to get to and from the beach. We loved watching the dolphins every day and loved watching the sunset off the back porch. We already booked our vacation for next summer-same place same time!

Left on 04/27/2011 for a stay in April 2011
My family and our friends had an absolutely wonderful time while vacationing in this home. The house is spacious and has a wonderful layout for napping children, cooking meals together, eating together and hangingout. The kitchen is well equipped. Seaside getaways is attentive to your needs (needed a new propane tank and a light bulb and they were delivered the next day). Our only complaint is that the pool at the volleyball court was closed all week to maintenance, even though it had water in it and looked clean. We played a lot of volleyball on some very hot days and really wanted to use the pool and were very disappointed it was closed. Harbor Island didn't seem to be in a hurry to open it. However, the house was great!

I wouldnt really call this oceanfront, it seemed to be more of a channel, there were no waves, however, the dolphins were great, regular as clockwork. The house itself was very nice, with the exception of way too many burned out lightbulbs and a somewhat musty smell in the basement apartment.

Left on 10/04/2009 for a stay in August 2009
What a great oceanfront home! Huge, luxurious and modern this was the place to stay. The home is situated at the North end of the Island so everday we were able to see the sun rising and the sun setting. Every moring at 6:30 am my wife would go kayaking with the dolphins that were following the shrimp boats that were just yards off the beach! The home acommodated our large family well..all bedrooms had a bathroom, and the multiple living areas gave enough "free space" that nobody felt invaded. We biked or golf-carted around the island, set out crab pots at the pier, swam at the club, and would drive into beaufort for some true "lowcountry" cusine throughout the week.
The folks at Seaside Getaways are extremely accomodating and friendly. The whole experience was truly FIRST CLASS!
