This is a great home with a perfect view of the ocean. The home is on the beach and at high tide the water laps on the back porch steps.
Some minor repairs are needed to cabinets and the external appearance but overall the home is in excellent condition.
The beds were very comfortable and you just can't beat the view. The other furnishings were in really good condition. We had 9 people in our group and we were all very comfortable. -

Fredericksburg, VAClosest beach house ever
Left on 07/18/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We stayed at Sandys Point in July 2012. The location of the house was fantastic - right on the beach (closest on the Island). We had a great time. The house needed some maintenance (upstairs carpet was bad, bathrooms and kitchen needed some repairs) but it was something easily overlooked because of the unbelievable location. We had a great time. Harbor Island is very peaceful. We participated in the turtle watch and my family escorted baby turtles to the ocean! Rental office was very helpful and responded to our needs almost immediately. We watched dolphins every day from our porch and kitchen window as they followed the shrimp boats. The beach was never crowded. We had a great time and recommend this rental property. You will overlook the wear and tear within the first few hours. Bring a good frying pan..the frying pans were bad. House did have a good coffee maker, dishwasher, and blender. Plenty of dishes!

This was our second visit to Sandy's Point, and another perfect vacation. This time we got to see more dolphins. They were swimming right out in front of the house during high tide. The shrimp boats were fishing in close too. What an exceptional place! And also I would like to thank Ron and Greta at Seaside Getaways for their help accommodating our schedule issues. We really appreciated that and look forward to renting from you again, hopefully later this year.

We have been vacationing along the Carrolina Coast for well over 30 years. This week was by far our best expeience. The location, the employees of Seaside, plus the very nice house all contributed. Our rental home was just perfect & our every need exceeded. We greatly appreciate all the kind help from the management. We will be back! The Wagner's

Every year the women in my family have a "girls week" at the beach and this year we stayed at Sandy's Point. From the moment you walk in the door and see the ocean from the wall of sliding glass doors all your stresses from home disappear! The home itself is so comfortable and there was plenty of room for the six of us. We have one family member who has trouble with stairs so it was great to have a bedroom on the main floor. The house is right on the water and listening to the waves crash against the house at night (at high tide) was heavenly! The way the house is situated makes you feel like you have your own private beach area. You are only steps away from the water at all times. It was wonderful to not have to lug all of our stuff across the dunes. The ocean is literally your backyard! We sat and watched the dolphins every day just feet away from the shore. It was magical! The house came with two bikes which was a nice surprise and there is a table and furniture on the back porch.
The staff at Seaside Getaways was so helpful during the entire booking process. The day before our vacation was over we booked the house again for next year. We have never done that, so that shows you how much we loved this place and the great folks at Seaside!
Sandy's point could use a new slip cover on the couch and is ready for an interior painting, but that's really the only complaint (and I can't really complain about that...my house needs one too!) that I could have. There were tons of dishes, glasses and silverware.
We never did use the pool at the clubhouse but went up to see it and it was huge and beautiful. There was also a nice playground and tennis courts. You just couldn't ask for more! We are already so excited about next year! -

Suwanee, GAUnbelievable location and great views

Out of four summers and four different houses on Harbor Island, Sandy's Point was the best!
This house is very spacious with plenty of seating for you and your entire group. A lot of houses will have 4-5 bedrooms, but not enough living/dining space for all of the guests. Sandy's Point has plenty of common area space. There is room to dine inside and outside and plenty of couches and chairs in the living room.
The kitchen is great! Very spacious with room for several cooks to manuever. There are plenty of dishes, glasses, pots, pans, etc. In fact, the only negative I can say is that since there were so many dishes there wasn't much pantry room to put away your food.
The master suite is very nice with a private balcony and a great bathroom with two showers and a large tub. All bedrooms face the ocean.
The best feature of this house is the location. Since the house literally sits on the beach, all you have to do is walk down the stairs and you are in the sand. No boardwalks to lug your beach chairs, sand toys, etc. No hot sand to hop over to set up your stuf. We never even had to use flip flops! There are also two outdoor showers under the house for your convenience.
All in all, this was a great house. If we return for a fifth year to Harbor Island, we will not be trying out a fifth house - we will return to Sandy's Point.

What a wonderful experience! Hadn't been to the Carolina's before..and not sure that I'm as big of a fan as some. This has nothing to do with the house...which was awesome...everything about it was great. The number of jellyfish was crazy and by the time we left the tides were out until almost 2:00 pm! That being said...if we ever choose to go back, we will definitely try to stay at this house again. We were there with 7 children and loved the secludedness of the beach...which was literally on our back porch! I was plesantly surprised when we arrrived...the pictures didn't do this house justice! My only complaints are very minor... is the grill...it was very...basic and small. Make sure you purchase charcol at your store trip! And the house next door, which we were told was privetley owned, had a large fenced in back yard...on about the 3rd day, there was a terrible smell coming from it. Unfortunately, we had to deal with it :( On the upside...the neighbors renting on the oppisite side were very friendly, as were almost all of the people we met while there. We were able to see sea turtle eggs hatch and the babies find their way back to the water...which was very cool! The grocery store is quite a drive and the "store" in Harbor was closed why we were there. I would definitely recommend eating at Johnson Creek Tavern...we did quite a few times and I have found myself craving their food on numerous occasions since!

We sure hope that you can return and stay with us again. Thank you for taking the time to write about your adventures! Watching the Loggerhead Turtles hatch is an awe-inspiring experience and I personally get tickled each time I have been able to witness the event.

I was 100% satisfied with this house and had a wonderful vacation. The house was exactly as described and shown on the ad. Seaside Getaways gives it a "3 Palms" rating. It was definitely at least that, but additionally there is the spectacular location. The beach is beautiful and private and the house is literally right on the beach. The Harbor Island community is also very clean, secure, and well run. We hope to rent here again next year!
