The house has everything you could want and is located in a great location for visiting the Moors, houses, abbeys and gardens and lovely villages. Whitby is also close enough for a lovely day out. Excellent pub for food is close by in Wombleton.

We have stayed at Wayside when it was a "room" serviced by the Pheasant Hotel so we knew what to expect. There is pleanty of space particularly downstairs but less room in the double bedded room upstairs. The other bedroom with two single beds is larger. The bathrooms upstairs although clean could do with a makeover but there is a new shower downstairs which works well. The furniture although of mid last cenury vintage is in good condition. It is warm and quiet. The utensils in the kitchen and the flatware are a mixture of all sorts but functional. We were not happy about the locked bookcase in the dining room-why have books on show which visitors can not get at?. Also we had to laugh at the notice in red posted in the kitchen which asked us to ensure that we througly cleaned the house before we left-leaving it tidy is what we expect but expecting us to clean the baths, hoover througout etc is asking too much. Having said that we would go back because of the space general comfort and location in a quiet but not remote village in a great part of the country.
A quit retreat

Since we were ony two, we almost rattled around in this three-bedroom two-sitting-room house. It's incredibly quiet, and well placed for visits to the Yorkshire Moors and lots of local abbeys.
