Windham, New HampshireSpectacular Views and accomodations
Left on 08/08/2011 for a stay in August 2011
We have spent a lot of time in Maine in the past few years due to the fact that our daughter attends Bowdoin College. My wife hunted around the internet trying to find a place that would have a great location and accomodations and came up with Quahog Bay Inn. We stayed in the Crow's Nest which I'm pretty sure is the most private room. It is only a 1 bedroom unit but has a huge living room with windows all around facing the water.
We were looking for a place with a kitchen as my wife loves to cook and the kitchen here was large with great views of the ocean. We were able to talk to Brian downstairs who works on the dock to buy 2 lobsters for one of our meals. All I had to do was to walk down the stairs and I had 2 lobsters in my hand within 5 minutes. They will even cook them for you if you like.
The owner Jane Waddle, her daughter Halley, and the father Bob were all very nice when we arrived. They offer a nice spread in the mornings including coffee, homemade blueberry muffins, cereal, juices, English muffins, etc. This all comes with the cost of the room.
It was very interesting to sit on the deck overlooking the harbor watching the lobstermen doing their daily work. We soon realized that living on the ocean is such a different life than what we are used to. Their boats are like our cars as they go from place to place just on their boats. The views from our unit were spectacular as we could see all the way to the open ocean on one side and all the way up the bay on the other.
You cannot go wrong with staying at this wonderful location. I recommend it highly and we are already contemplating coming back in the Fall. -

A friend and I stayed at Quahog Bay for a weekend getaway. The rental was spacious, comfortable, and beautiful with amazing views of the ocean from virtually every window. We rented kayaks and a boat for the day and explored the breathtaking island from the water. It is also right next to a lobster dock (very cool!), we ordered lobsters from them and they cooked them right there! Overall it was just the weekend we had been hoping for and we plan on staying again this summer! Thanks Quahog!
