Fort Myers BeachWorst rental experience 5 years ago!
Left on 09/03/2012 for a stay in July 2007
While looking for a rental I came across the "retreat" we stayed at 5 years ago. I never wrote a review at the time and regretted it. I still have the email I wrote to friends describing a horrific experience. Quotes from email I sent
"The pictures must have been taken 10 years earlier upward from lake level when the second floor was put over an old cottage. The house reeked of mildew and possibly animal urine when we walked in. Only three bedrooms and one bath were in the newer part of the house. We checked the entire house and found many problems. Besides being dirty there were holes in the screens, stained furniture broken doorknob, leaky commode, stove and fridge that didn't work properly and too many problems to enumerate. ...We decided to make the best of the situation but the weather was not cooperating. The first 3 days were very difficult as we were all trying to live in relatively small quarters with 5 rambunctious boys.. Once the weather improved we took the paddle boat and kayak out on the lake. The paddle boat kept going in a circle, the rudder was broken! One of the canoes had a big crack in it. Dan had towed his sailboat, it was great and helped save the week. ...
Meanwhile, our food was freezing in the refrigerator upstairs and thawing in the freezer!
Need I say more. The owner was not helpful, I should have pursued a partial refund and regret I didn't. -

MansfieldWeekend getaway
Left on 02/09/2011 for a stay in September 2010
My husband and I with and two other couples stayed in the fall for a weekend getaway and I had the most relaxing and quiet time during my stay . The foliage in the area is superb, the house has plenty of room to spread out and tatesfully furnished. The house offers privacy, beautiful views and nice walk to the lake. It was a real pleasure to stay in.

Somerville, MALovely House for a Pristine Getaway
Left on 02/06/2011 for a stay in November 2010
I stayed here with a group of friends and the house and location are wonderful. The house is spacious enough for a large group, yet has a very cozy, lodge-like feel to it. It's right next to a serene lake, where you can partake in water sports or just enjoy the Maine atmosphere. I highly recommend this house as a vacation spot.
