We stay in Ridge View every year and check that everything is maintained to a high standard. Based on suggestions from our guests, we have added improvements to make your stay more enjoyable.

Ridge View is an ideal spot for a relaxing holiday or a romantic getawa...y. Our house is located on a ridge overlooking the South Coast and has a fantastic 180 degree view. It's lovely to watch the sun come up in the mornings and see the birds and other wildlife from the patio and later to see beautiful sunsets in the evenings.

Close to the main south coast beaches, the Garrison race-course/jogging track and the South Coast board walk. Easy access to main entertainment areas and restaurants.

Golf: A number of people rent our house as it is less than 5 minutes drive from the Rockley Golf Course. The Barbados Golf Club is 10-15 minutes drive away.

Cricket: The Wanderer's ground is very near, you can see play from our balcony (bring binoculars). The Oval is a short drive away.

Office/work area with a desk, book shelves, phone and internet - so you can plug in and work/stay connected while on holiday.

Spacious - 1 900 sq ft - representing excellent value for money. Large pool immediately in front of the house. Extensive, well kept grounds. Very quiet and peaceful location.

The whole house, including the veranda, is screened against mosquitoes.

The house is within a very quiet and secure development with full-time gardeners and night-time security guard.

There is a full-sized kitchen, washing machine and dryer. Bathrooms and kitchen finished to high specifications with marble and granite tops, respectively.

The select development where our house is located consists principally of owner-occupied and long-term tenanted properties. It is therefore very quiet and peaceful. It represents a cool, green oasis to return to after a day at the beach. There is also the option of just lazing at home on the veranda or by the pool.

Central for many attractions: our house is centrally located for beaches, the historical Garrison area and horse racing course, restaurants and the St Lawrence Gap and Oistins entertainment areas. It is within easy reach of two golf courses and is well place for supermarkets and other shops. We overlook the Wanderer's cricket ground and the Kensington Oval is a short distance away.

Golf, sailing, snorkeling, walking, jogging, scuba-diving, surfing, boat charters, fishing and many other activities are all near by.

The three closest beaches are:

Carlisle Bay: wonderful for walking (1 mile long) and swimming. There is also a marine reserve with wrecks and many fish - and often turtles. This can be reached from the shore.

Drill Hall/Hilton: this is a beautiful beach which is used by local surfers and boogie boarders. It is also the main nesting site for turtles on the island. You may see both turtles laying eggs and the eggs hatching and the young turtles racing down the sea.

Accra/Rockley: popular beach - good for enjoying the surf. Boardwalk goes from Accra to Drill Hall.
