Memphis, TNperfect family vacation
Left on 04/02/2012 for a stay in July 2011
This is a beautiful, clean home that has everything and more that you would expect from a beach home rental. All the bedrooms are spacious, (not that you would want to be in your room instead of enjoying the views on all the decks!) and the beds are super comfortable. The kitchen had all you would need for a week of cooking if you choose not to eat out at all the fun restaurants in the area. The views are spectacular, and you really do see dolfins all the time!
We had fun enjoying the pool and hot tub when we weren't on the beach or in the ocean. And we enjoyed playing pool in the evening when we weren't able to enjoy the views.
Everything worked great, and if you did need something, Midgett Realty would gladly bring it to you. We had no problems with the refrigerator or anything else for that matter.
We didn't expect the home to have beach umbrellas or chairs available since no other place we've rented has, so we bring our own, and we also rented from one of many rental companies in the area.
Overall, this was a wonderful family getaway, and the best vacation home we've ever stayed in! We will definitely be back 2-3 times a year! -

Harrisburg, PAGreat location. Pretty home. Meager amenities.

If you want to stay in Hatteras and need five bedrooms (each with its own bath) this is the perfect location. It's the first house ocean side in Hatteras, so you get a large beach almost to yourself. If you want real seclusion you can walk about 1/2 mile and only see a few walkers or joggers all day.
But if you do go, make sure you bring everything you could possibly need. You'd think that for over $5000 Midgett realty could throw in a few extra toilet paper rolls or trash bags. You'd think the kitchen might include, say, a knife-sharpener to deal with the knives that were so dull they couldn't cut a tomato or cantaloupe. Or how about a basting brush? And given that everyone using this home is going to the beach, how about a deck box with a couple of good umbrellas and chairs in it?
Also we had some maintenance issues that were kind of a pain. Several of the remotes didn't work because they needed batteries. We called and got some the next day. Two of the bathtubs didn't drain. So we called and got service the next day. The fridge in the living room just died on us one night. We moved everything down two flights of stairs to the other fridge and tried several things to get the other one to start up again. It eventually did so we didn't have to call it in, but it was a pain to do stuff like this on a vacation. Did I mention that we spent over $5000 dollars for this house!?!
For all of that we did have a wonderful time and loved the location, the pool, the hot-tub, and the convenience of having one of the best beaches you'll ever enjoy just outside the back door.
