      Great Place-Great People

Left on 07/08/2012 for a stay in July 2012

We stayed for a week at the end of June/beginning of July 2012.We found Tim and Denise to be helpful and friendly hosts and,as they live next door, they were always around to give advice and help if needed.Tim lent us a Sat Nav that he had programmed with places to visit such as Brantome and Oradour-sur-Glane amongst others, which is a really good idea if you don't know the area too well. The accomodation was modern, newly built, spotless and in a lovely quiet area, but not far from the town of Saint-Mathieu that has a supermarket and shops. We would thoroughly recommend staying here and we would like to thank Tim and Denise for making our first trip to France memorable.Mark and Tricia.

This is what 'real' France is all about.

Left on 05/28/2012 for a stay in April 2012

Tim and Denise are excellent hosts. Once we had checked in, they were always on hand to offer in depth knowldge of where to go and what to see. The accomodation is set in a beautiful location, and is spotlessly clean with excellent facilities. There was only one thing that we did not like. We had to come home ! We have already booked to return.

A wonderfully peaceful and relaxing place to stay.

Left on 03/27/2012 for a stay in June 2011

Although I arrived much later than anticipated, Denise stayed up to welcome me. The facilities were well thought out, from the kitchen to the shower room and beyond. The provision of a radio was a nice touch. The fridge had a lovely array of goodies from nicely chilled wine to lovely local cheese. The level of decor was excellent, and very attractively done. The bed was very comfortable, and it was lovely to be able to keep the curtains open and look out at the stars.

There are plenty of local walks or cycles to be had, lots of wildlife nearby, and the nearest village had sufficient shops to keep the fridge well-stocked.

My hosts were extremely friendly, and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. A very relaxing break and I hope to return at some point in the future.

One word would be tranquil, escape from everyday life and relax.

Left on 03/23/2012 for a stay in September 2011

First class service all our needs were catered for and our questions about the area answered.
The home was of a very high standard and everything we needed was supplied. There were some lovely places to eat and a supermarket with a very good selection was in the nearby village.
The area is superb with quiet roads and lanes suitable for driving, walking and cycling. Numerous paths into the countryside to get away from it all and Lakes to walk around.
We enjoyed the warm welcome and one other thing we loved was lying in bed with the french doors open onto the Juliet balcony looking out at the stars and listening to the wildlife.

The hosts were relaxed and welcoming which was a great start to our holiday. They are very knowledgeable about the surrounding area and are keen to help.
The accommodation was crisp, clean, of a high standard and comfortable.
lots to do in the area, but we just loved the old charming villages and relaxing in the garden with a glass wine.

      A wonderful relaxing stay.

Left on 03/20/2012 for a stay in August 2011

On arrival we were greeted by Tim and Denise. They made us feel very welcome and couldn't have been more helpful. Our Gite had been prepared for our arrival and included lovely fresh food and even a bottle of wine! The gite's are very well furnished and our bed was extremely comfortable. The surroundings are beautiful and from the moment we arrived we felt totally relaxed. During our stay we found Tim's knowledge of the area invaluable. He was able to suggest many lovely walks and interesting places to visit. There is a local supermarket within a short drive. There is nothing to dislike here, if you require a quiet relaxing break, it is perfect. We can not wait to return.

      a little piece of heaven.

Left on 03/20/2012 for a stay in September 2011

This is the second time my wife and i have stayed at la maison aux arbres as we find it the perfect place to 'unwind'.
we find It's rural location and lovely scenery make it the perfect place to get away from it all and at the same time being within easy reach of some lovely medieval towns and chateaux.
We have stayed in both the tower and lodge gites and on both occations have found them extremely clean, comfortable and well equipped. The bedroom of the tower gite has lovely views across the meadow to the lake and what struck us the most was how blissfully quiet it is, especially at night.
Tim and Denise are very helpful and have a good knowledge of places to visit, restaurants, shops etc.
The roads are well signposted and extremely quiet to drive on which made getting about that more enjoyable.
There is not an awful lot here to keep young children amused but if, like us you are a couple who enjoy the countryside and all that comes with it this place is a must!
