Cohoes, NYOur Best Oahu Vacation
Left on 02/27/2013 for a stay in February 2013
Our first overnight vacation on the north shore was at this cottage, and we loved it!!! It was a very cozy little cottage, less than 50 feet from the Pacific. Our cottge was well equipped with everything a person could need, and the relaxation was just great. Price was very fair and we would definitely recommend staying here. We look forward to coming back and staying at the same cottage again & again. Unfortunately, we never met Theresa (the owner), otherwise only issue was getting into the place upon arrival... the number on the cottage door was missing, and we had trouble opening up the keybox on the door, due to being at the wrong front door/cottage. Had to find the manager to get us in. Otherwise no problems at all, in this very very very nice stay!

Left on 01/16/2013 for a stay in December 2012
We were scheduled to stay at Theresa's over Christmas 2012, but 4 days before we were set to leave, I got no-fly orders from my doctor due to a medical condition.
Although we have never stayed at Theresa's, I can say she has been nothing short of incredibly supportive. Her communication with us has been top notch, and she was extremely understanding of the situation.
I can say that when the time comes that I can once again travel, it is clear where we will be staying. I can't wait to meet the sweet, thoughtful woman on the other end of my emails.
If anything, I highly recommend the place for the "customer service" attached to the place!
Thanks, Theresa! I hope to see you...soon...

Good enough place to stay, but a bit shabby
Left on 10/02/2012 for a stay in September 2012
A pretty good place to stay, but could use a bit more upkeep. Good location on beach and away from Waikiki and reasonably close for activity such as hiking and swimming/snorkeling. Accommodations comfortable but a bit shabby. But really probably a good deal.

We were looking to relax and find ourselves again and we did at Theresa's place. The cottage is wonderful and has everything you need for a wonferful stay. The neighbors from the condos were so helpful and friendly, telling us all the places to see and enjoy. Could not beat the cost either. Loved the privacy and freedom of the cottage. Met Theresa and she was a joy and hepful. Centrally located and with the buses running right by you would not even need to rent a car liek we did. Such and amazing stay we will be back to warm our alaskan bones yearly. See you soon Theresa!

It was like being at home.
Left on 03/26/2012 for a stay in February 2012
Since we have stayed in this area many times, we were familiar with the wonderful location-how can you argue with the ocean being just steps from your lanai. Dealing with Theresa was an added bonus-she made us feel welcome and added that special aloha spirit. This cottage is not your slick resort experience. It's a down-home comfortable place that makes you feel like you can just relax and enjoy the beach and ocean and not have to rush around being part of a crowd. Sitting on our lanai in the morning, eating our breakfast papaya from the small store across the street, watching the birds and hearing the ocean was just the best way to start the day. It's not Waikiki and that's why we loved it.

Pullman, WAExcellent Value for cost
Left on 01/19/2012 for a stay in December 2011
This studio is very roomy and easily fit four adults. Ms. Pukahi was very responsive to requests and even arranged for tickets to the Polynesian Cultural Center. The studio is right on a little used beach protected by a reef. Snorkeling was good and we even saw a sea turtle. It is very handy for travel to both Honolulu and the North Shore. The unit is showing some wear--probably unavoidable since it is so close to the sea. The screen door to the Lanai needs to be fixed so it doesn't jump the track. The bathroom floor gets water on it whenever the washer is used more than once in a day and the kitchen is well equipped but tiny. The price is very reasonable for the space, location and attention.

Always a pleasure to have Alice and her family stay at my beach cottage. Appreciate her pointing out some repairs needed. I did take care of the repair on the screen door and the water leak in the shower. Alice is welcome back anytime to my beach cottage. Mahalo, Theresa

Left on 06/16/2011 for a stay in February 2011
It took me and my wife 40 years to take our first real vacation, we selected Oahu and Theresa's little wonderful cottage off the water. The place is great, 3-side of glass witht he wonderful sandy beach just feet from the window of our bed. Everything is included by Theresa to include local phone, internet, fully stocked kitchen to include all the needed spices.
Me and my wife fail in love with the Ohau experiance so much and Theresa's wonderful sea side cottage so much I just booked another 10 days in October 2011 toreturn to her cottage.
Theresa is a wonderful host, I even met some of her family and thewy are wonderful.
You can't go wrong with this place, it is breath taking. Thank you Theresa:) -

This was exactly what we imagined; Cottage by the ocean. Waking up watching the sunrise listening to the waves , Walk on the beach , 20 minutes one way, 15 the other. Ocean calm and warm enough to swim in. There is a grocery store about 10 minutes drive, and fishermen selling their catch of the day in a parking close to the grocery...we pigged out. The complimentary use of washer and dryer is appreciated. We will return!

Left on 03/02/2011 for a stay in January 2011
Accommodation were comfortable and complete. All needed equipment was available. Theresa is a great hostess; very pleasant and helpful. Local places to eat were interesting; food delicious. Best of all is falling to sleep to the sound of the surf and the ocean breeze on your face.
One advice for Theresa. Have the cleaning people do details. Look at the phone, for example - or the wi-fi equipment. -

Pro: I love this place. It's like coming home to your own little place on the water. My wife, two kids, and I stay here every year, for the last 5 years to celebrate the 4th of July. You can't beat the price (which is one of the reasons we can afford to stay here every year). I hate the hustle and bustle of Waikiki and this condo is exactly the opposite. The water is just 50 or 60 feet from the back patio. Just south west of the North Shore or Haleiwa Town it is the perfect Hawaii vacation spot. If you do want to hang out in the hustle and bustle of the city and go shopping, like my wife does, you can easily take Kamehamaha Hwy (a beautiful shoreline drive) to the Likelike Hwy. (a nice drive literally through the mountains where you pop out on the other side.) Depending on time of year, Sharks Cove has the best snorkeling and scuba I've ever done or you can cliff dive at Waimea Bay. The water in front of the condo is calm so it's perfect for my kids. If you want insane waves, winter brings the biggest waves on earth to the North Shore and Banzai Pipeline just up the way. We've been visiting here for the last 5 years and we've discovered alot. Close to the condo are North Shore, Waimea, Sharks Cove, Chinaman Hat, Dole Plantation, Polenesian Cultural Center, Hanauma Bay, Geovanni's Shrimp Truck, Matsumoto's, Hukilau Café, just way too much to list. Try it out, and I have no doubts you will be back. It sleeps 4 like they advertise but the owners also own a second condo right next door if you need the room. Con: I have nothing negative to say. I guess if I have to, maybe you'll have a problem with seeing a mongoose, crab, gecko, turtles or other local animals and fauna hanging about. But if you are going to have a problem with that then you will probably have a problem with Hawaii as a whole. From City to Country animals are everywhere, but I actually think this is a Pro not a Con.

Left on 08/29/2010 for a stay in April 2009
My spouse and I stayed for about a week and really enjoyed being able to lie in bed and watch the ocean. One morning we saw a pod of whales. One negative of being on the ground floor is the occasional person walking by the windows but that is a small concession for being able to be on the beach in less than 30 seconds after stepping outside!

This rental is about as close as you can get to the water without swimming out of your kitchen! It's on a lovely little strip of beach that was quiet and safe for the children and never had more than a few people on it. Far away from the bright lights of the city (which is what we wanted) but close enough to be able to drive out to enjoy Honolulu. Will definitely stay again!
