This is a wonderful little cottage close to the beach. We enjoyed our stay there. Unlike Honolulu it is very quiet and not a tourist trap. The cottage was very homelike and had everything we needed to be comfortable. It was not fancy but it was clean and the owner and her daughter were very friendly when dealing with us. It has a lovily patio close to the BBQ so we were able to make dinners and chat with other guests of the hotel but not have to walk through the hotel to get to the beach. The best thing about cottage was the fact that it was about 50 feet from a beautiful queit beach. We were able to snokel and one evening we sat on the and watched the whales in the ocean. There is a reef so there arn't alot of waves and the beach was great for small children to play on. You would need a car if stayed at this place as it is a distance from other ammenties. We loved it and have told our friends about this wonderful little dreamy breach colttage.

We stayed here with our grandson and it was the most relaxing time that we had in Honolulu. The stores are close by, the bus is outside your complex, many many amenities as mentioned in earlier posts, the owner and her daughter are sweethearts to deal with. The cottage itself is like a dream. Just to sit on the lanai and have our morning coffee while our grandson went chasing geckos or to use the beach chairs provided by our gracious hosts to lay on the beach and get a tan. Did I mention this place was a dream? We absolutely loved it and look forward to coming back for another stay. It is so convenient being on the main floor. I use a walker to get around and it made my day not to have to go up or down stairs to get out. We loved, loved, loved it and you must rent this place once if only to soothe your soul. Highly recommended! A little taste of heaven on earth.

Over the years I've thoroughly enjoyed this place as a peaceful retreat to beat the buzz of the city. lots of beachy character, Waking to the sound of waves lapping on the shoreline, I get into a swimsuit right out of bed and walk 20 feet for a morning ocean dip, I see turtles every time. great stargazing. it has a way of clearing my mind whenever i arrive. small and cozy, yet light and airy. Having bad allergies, I appreciate the cleanliness, personal washer/dryer, hot water, soft sheets, abundant large beach towels. Lots of light, comfy furniture, tv, ipod/cd player/radio, kitchenware, 4 burner gas range, microwave. beach gear, lounge chairs, 2min. walk to 2 minimarts, 5min drive to supermarket and eateries. incredibly quiet, but I also enjoyed having a dinner party on the porch with a few friends. It feels open and easy, yet secure. its a very low crime area. the beach is private property and often its just me lounging, with the occasional jogger or swimmer passing by. the beach its a long reef shelf, so the waves are breaking far away, very safe to swim with kids since its so shallow and sandy with no waves closeby. Near, there are lots of hiking trails, beaches, famous north shore with its scenic winter surf and haleiwa beach town, golf courses, horse back riding, mac nut farms, polynesian cultural center, shrimp trucks, and the city is only about 45 minutes away. The bus stop is adjacent to the complex, and will take you either direction. Being ground level and able to park right next to the porch, makes this extremely accomodating for elderly or disabled. the reserved parking stall borders the porch, a BBQ is 30ft away. secure internet, cell reception, close to food and gas, yet far from traffic and distractions, really makes for a great experience. I stayed anywhere from 2-30 days dozens of times. you can't find a more enjoyable place to stay at such a great price. I hate leaving! usually booked pretty far in advance. Dreamy is right!

Thank you for your lovely review, and pointing out many things that I did not mention in my listing. My daughter is also named Heidi! I named her after the book with the same name. She is the main reason I bought this cottage 22+ years ago when she was a young girl and loved playing at the beach. Im glad you enjoy it so much!

We enjoyed the comfortable cottage with the breeze coming off the ocean. It was wonderful having the beach mostly to ourselves. The owner has thoughtfully stocked the cottage with everything needed to just sit back and relax; felt like I was staying with a friend. We especially enjoyed the covered patio where we ate every meal, except when we were out and around. We were delighted to find fun snorkeling near by and enjoyed the Waimea Falls Park. There were local fruit stands nearby and some "famous" shrimp vendors just up the road. There was no air conditioning, but with the incoming breeze and ceiling/floor fans we were always comfortable.
