The large deck allows for relaxation and enjoyment of the dolphins seen on a regular basis. Neuse Breeze is a hit with families because of the private beach, large yard and seclusion. The gourmet kitchen and big screen TV are also a must have. Advance payment of one half rent will hold a reservation. The balance must be received by owner, thirty days before the reservation begins. For cancellations made sixty days before the first day of the reservation, all amounts paid will be refunded less a $50 fee. For cancellations later than thirty days before the reservation, refunds of advance rent payments will be made only if someone else rents the time that you had reserved. Your $200 deposit will be refunded to you within 30 days of your departure if you have not damaged the property.
If reservation is made under false pretenses party will be evicted with no refund.

We traveled to NC to spend Labor Day weekend with our son, Who is stationed at Cherry Point. I wanted to find a vacation rental that had a home like environment. The rental at Neuse Breeze was perfect. We were able to spend time together as a family in a rental that felt like home. The boys enjoyed kayaking and we were able to grill out one evening. The fire pit was perfect, unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate so we were unable to take advantage of it. The rental was exactly like the pictures posted on the website. We will definitely stay there again!

It was a wonderful place to stay and we will return next year. They were wonderful hosts and left us a nice homemade bread and bottle of wine and fruit. It was very pieceful.

Raleigh, NCNice accomodations in a quiet waterfront setting

(The following comments refer to the ground level "studio” unit of the rental house rather than the larger main upstairs unit)
Positives: The studio is on a large lot with a big lawn and a wonderful unobstructed view of the lower Neuse River where it opens onto Pamlico Sound. The river is about 5 miles wide at this point and the view to the NE across the sound covers 90 miles of open water. The property has a clean, gently sloped sandy beach, good for swimming and other water activities. This is a countryside location, quiet and secluded. Our unit was clean, modern, comfortable, and spacious.
Bonuses: Big screen TV. Wi-Fi. A Keurig coffee maker stocked with an assortment of coffees (as well as teas and hot chocolates). Owners allowed use of their kayak. Also, they greeted us with a bottle of wine, a basket of fruit, and homemade baked goods.
More on the owners: The Dykstras, who live in a house right next to the rental unit (which was their former home) were the perfect combination of being friendly and attentive but not intrusive. When a few small glitches come up during our stay, they responded quickly to make things right. We enjoyed having them as neighbors for the week.
Negatives: The otherwise well-equipped kitchen didn't have a cooktop or oven, so cooking was limited to the microwave and a big outdoor grill (check with the owners before booking if this is an issue - we were told that a cooktop/oven is in the works). The unit didn't have laundry facilities. The location is a bit distant from the nearest towns (Havelock 10 miles, Beaufort 20 miles), but this was a tradeoff we happily made to enjoy the quiet of a more secluded setting.
Summary: Highly recommended if you're looking for a quiet, low-key, relaxing setting with a great view.

A tranquil environment where u can relax and watch the dolphin, fishing in your backyard beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Antique shops and beaches nearby. The quaint city of New Bern offers unique shops and good dinning. Emerald Isle is also close and would not miss seeing Fort Macon.

We rented Neuse Breeze for a girls weekend. What a great place. Clean the kitchen had everything including every tea and coffee you could imagine. Its great to know next time we come all we need to bring is our clothes. The views are spectacular. Even though it was cold we ventured out in the kayak that is provided and it was a great time had by all. We are definetaly going to come back every year. Thank you Marianne and Glen for making our weekend memorable.
