White Sands Village is a pleasant, quiet and convenient location in Kailua-Kona. We stayed in a different unit last year, and enjoyed it so much we returned. The other unit was not available, so we stayed in #311. There were several shortcomings compared to our previous stay. Supplies provided were inadequate for four people staying for eight nights (enough dishwasher detergent for four loads, and enough laundry detergent for one load), the kitchen was inadequately equipped, and requires more cutlery and dishes. The lanai furniture is basically falling apart, lanai carpet is very dirty, and the second bathroom shower doesn't drain well. No major problems, but attention to these sorts of details would improve the unit considerably. Considering the other unit we stayed in was in excellent condition and well provisioned, and cost the same per night, I cannot recommend this one until improvements are made.

Atually a could be a nice rental. Problems were worn out furniture, some broken fixtures and dirty carpet and windows. All for $200/day. Would be a better review for 1/2 that price.

Complex was great--pool & hottub assets. Barbq nice.
Drapes, blinds, & sliding door lock in condo are in need of repair. Blind in bedroom can't be adjusted so that light does not come in. Sliding door curtain doesn't close completely. So, both bedrooms are lit by exterior lighting at night. Air conditioning vents & drains in sinks need good clean out.
Other than these items condo is good. -

Great location. Nice pool. Some things needed a little attention, most noticeably the lint trap in the dryer was completely rusted out: a fire hazard.

We have had the lint filter on order for over a month and it finally came in on January 10th and was installed. Sorry for not informing you about this ahead of time.

Nice place compared to past rentals. Great location and plenty of extras in condo. Condo unit could use a deep cleaning and some minor maintenance. Enjoyed our stay. Would stay again.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the White Sands Village. Although the building and unit are a bit outdated, everything was very clean and lovely. We would definitely stay there again.

The condo at White Sands Village (#311) was great! Clean, spacious condo in an awesome location - right across the street from the beach which is exactly what we were looking for! The management company was very organized and professional, we didn't have a single problem! We will definitely be back!

Thanks for asking. Generally, we were happy.Nice being across from good beach.Owners had some nice touches. The description was misleading: The A/c was on a limited timer, so the condo was overly warm much of the time. The "nearby" postoffice, free internet, shopping, movies, groceries, restaurants, etc, were over 3 miles away!No TV in master bdrm, broken blinds in bdrm(people could see in) & living room, broken window lock on bdrm next to corridor.

Beaverton, OR, United StatesNice condo, few minor issues, but nothing big.
Left on 01/25/2012 for a stay in January 2012
Everything went pretty well, answering service for after hours had no knowledge of how to get to or into property. Internet, but no wireless (not important for most people but we run an online business). Beach is great for body-boarding/sunning but not for swimming. Pool area was really nice. No stores/shops/restaurants in walking distance, closest is 1.5 miles to outrigger resort. Didn't have any soap/shampoo/extra toilet paper which was odd, considering no store in walking distance. Window locks on balcony doors rusted and unreliable, but local property mangement was always walking around and probably prevents theft so not a big deal there.
Overall we really liked it but wished it was a couple miles south or north of its location. If you dont' mind driving everywhere, not a big deal and you should stay here. For the price a really nice place. -

We stayed at 311 from Dec 24-31, 2011. The property is clean and basic - the furnishings are a little dated, but just fine for our stay. The property is located in a small condo complex with a small swimming pool in the centre (which gets little to no sun). Overall a nice place to stay, good location. Would stay again.

No elevator to the third floor- this was a bummer.
Microscopic ants, but no spray- this was annoying.
Otherwise great location for the price. -

We had a good view of the pool from our lanai. It was great getting in at night and hearing the waves from the beach.
