Palm Beach, FLOutstanding Location
Left on 06/23/2012 for a stay in May 2012
Gorgeous view and a short walk to a beautiful and uncrowded beach. The only negative is that there is no air-conditioning. It was quite hot in the afternoon, but we were there at the end of May, beginning of June. Catered To did quickly bring an additional floor fan when we requested one. A/C in the bedrooms would be an excellent upgrade to make the stay perfect.
We did wait about 20 minutes for our representative to arrive at the ferry dock, but she was very apologetic and nice and did call us back when we called to inquire as to where she was.
Overall a beautiful place to stay with a location that cannot be beat on St. John.
Catered To was excellent to work with and quickly responded to any inquiries. We have now rented through them twice. -

Mobile, ALOur 2012 vacation on St. John
Left on 06/21/2012 for a stay in May 2012
I have been visiting St. John annually for about 20 years. My family has stayed at Kallaloo for most of those trips. We consider it "our" vacation home. It is located over Hawksnest Bay in our favorite area of the island. The sunsets from the house are to die for and the beach below is beautiful. Catered To is so helpful and responsive to any need. We absolutely love it and look forward to our return!

The location & view were everything I had hoped for. Catered To was wonderful. In the absnce of air conditioning, the pool was a nice plus. For the house to receive a 5th star from me, the owners would need to spend a few dollars upgrading the furnishings and the stove. These were all a bit tired and worn out.

I recommend Catered-To and the Villa Kallaloo to anyone seeking a beautiful and rewarding vacation with your every need taken care of. Tyler was great in handling our reservation; Kay was superb in meeting us, helping us pick up our jeep, and orienting us to the villa. The outstanding features of Kallaloo can not be over-stated: its handsome lay-out,its tasteful and understated decorative scheme, the sense of comfort one immediately feels there, a beautiful beach just a short walk down the driveway and across the road, a small but refreshing fresh-water pool to jump into when returning form the beach feeling hot and salty, and a verandah with comfortable couches where one could easily sit all day looking out at Hawksnest Bay, Caneel Bay beyond that, some smaller cays beyond that, and at night the twinkling lights of St. Thomas in the distance. Visitors to Kallaloo will find every imaginable item needed in the well-stocked kitchen (two-dozen wine glasses, six cutting boards . . . top-quality cookware). The hummingbirds and bananquits that will visit to sip sugar water in feeder on the verandah are delightful (when the thrushie birds allow them access); the bedrooms are shaded, airy, and cooled by ceiling fans. Yes, the villa is spacious; yes, it is clean; but many villas are those things. At Kallaloo -- once you have bought your groceries for the week, you need not get into your jeep again unless you wish to go exploring the island -- and there are many who would do that -- but for us the joy of Kallaloo was not having to get into the jeep to go for a swim or to snorkel around a bit: a beautiful, un-frequented beach with gracefully arcing coconut palms and soft white sand was a 5-minute clomp down the hill through tropical forest. The plants -- ornamentals like hibiscus and oleander and bourgainvillea as well as wild varieties -- were beautiful to look at; the sound of insects and other nocturnal creatures after sunset was a symphony to the ears. Thanks!

We had a restful relaxing stay at Kallaloo. The location is ideal and the house is great with almost anything you would need. Our only issue was that the mosquitos killed us at night. They got in through the screens. Mosquito netting would have been great. Otherwise, an ideal trip.

Perfect house & location
MinneapolisCharming house in a great location with breathtaking views
Left on 05/02/2011 for a stay in March 2011
We chose Kallaloo mainly for its prime location in the National Park & proximity to the beautiful North Shore beaches. After arriving on St. John, we knew from the moment we walked through the door that we had found the perfect home for our vacation. Kallaloo has the right blend of comfort and Caribbean-Bohemian charm. The last thing we wanted was to find ourselves in a home that felt stiff & formal. As Kallaloo is not in a residential area, we truly enjoyed the seclusion - while at the same time enjoyed the convenience of not being too far from Cruz Bay. The views from the comfortable back porch are stunning and the lush gardens around the house give the home a fun tree house feel. Everyone enjoyed the pool and the fact that we could make the short, easy walk down to Gibney beach at any time. The staff at Catered To Vacation Homes were very professional and generous about helping us with many of the details related to our vacation. They always responded promptly to any of our questions. We would recommend Catered To & Kallaloo to anyone without hesitation!

New York CityGreat!
Left on 08/05/2010 for a stay in July 2010
I love the house, although the whole place could use a coat of fresh paint & the kitchen needs an overhaul. I loved the privacy of the pool, the view, going to sleep to the sound of tree frogs & crickets, and waking up to the rooster crowing, felt like camping in the jungle. Mosquitoes bad because there had been a lot of rain. It was quiet, private & very convenient to the north shore beaches & Cruz Bay.

Martinsville, New JerseyHad a wonderful fun time!!
Left on 06/10/2010 for a stay in May 2010
This villa's location was fabulous!! Short walk down drive to the beautiful beach. I have stayed many times in St John but this was the first time in a villa. I am a very detailed person and some things I had a problem with others may not. Some of the furnishings were tired. The beds were so very uncomfortable. We actually flipped the pillowtop mattresses and sleep on the other side. Much more comfortable. The pool was not clean. The water was clear but there was alot of debis in the pool at the bottom and floating. Obviously, the pool service did not come in prior to our arrival. The frig was very old and rusty in places. The positives are the location, the fact that it did have a pool and the floor plan was fantastic. The villa just needed some TLC and attention to details.
But overall enjoyed!!! -

we stayed 2 weeks and experienced both mild and balmy weather and wild,
windy and rainy weather. The house was great with either. The walk to the
beach is the best part. Best swimming in the world. Sharon , caretaker and
friend, was another asset. Have stayed many places and so far Kallaloo wins
the prize. -

Olathe, KansasFamily Vacation at Kallaloo on St.John
Left on 03/26/2010 for a stay in March 2010
We have stayed in a number of villas on St. John and rate Kallaloo as the best
villa we have ever rented. The location is perfect since you are very close to all
of the North Shore beaches and only minutes away from Cruz Bay. I like being
able to walk to Gibney Beach which is beautiful and seldom crowded. We used
the swimming pool at Kallaloo every day as the weather was hot and we had
virtually no rain. The view of Hawksnest Bay from the covered veranda is
excellent. The layout of Kallaloo with its indoor and outdoor spaces is ideal for
a vacation for a family of four such as ours. Catered To provided very good
service in getting us to Kallaloo. Several of our family members tried wind
surfing for the first time at Cinnamon Bay and enjoyed it very much. My son
and I played tennis every day on the public courts in Cruz Bay which are in
good condition. Our family took the small catamaran trip to Lovango and
Henley Cay for a half day and enjoyed the snorkeling and sailing. The dining
experience we had at Hinds Restaurant was clearly the best of the restaurants
we ate at. -

Cateredto was well organized, and very responsive. It is possible that AC in bedrooms would be important later in the year to control the humidity.

Baltimore, MarylandFantastic Visit
Left on 12/03/2009 for a stay in November 2009
Our family decided to spend Thanksgiving this year in St. John and it was the best visit. The house is very comfortable which made us relax instantly. The house location is perfect because it is in the national forest yet close to Cruz Bay for daily trips to the grocery store! We swam each day in Hawksnest Bay as well as other my favorite Francis Bay and Honeymoon Beach. I found the Catered To staff to be extremely responsive and helpful during our stay. Our family loves St. John and we will definitely be back!

BostonBeautiful views and quiet location
Left on 07/09/2009 for a stay in April 2009
As on my previous stay at a Catered To villa, Kallaloo was well appointed with all the necessities for an enjoyable stay. The villa itself was well set up for multiple couples; private bedroom/bathrooms next to a common deck. The views of Hawksnest Beach and Caneel Resort were great. An easy walk down to Oppenheimer beach, but the walk back up might be more than some might want. Kallaloo is a bit close to one other villa that shares the driveway, but was oriented and distanced enough to feel very private. Proximity to the north shore beaches was a major reason we selected Kallaloo. One small thing we appreciated was the lack of splintery decking around the comfortable pool.

BostonA most relaxing week.
Left on 07/01/2009 for a stay in March 2009
My wife and I stayed at Kallaloo for one week in March with another couple. The only way to describe the trip was amazing. The house was immaculate when we arrived. The kitchen is very well supplied for making meals at home, which we did on three nights. I was concerned about the lack of air conditioning when we booked, but it proved to not be a problem. The trade winds in the spring do more than enought to cool the rooms and the sound of the ocean at night was a very pleasant way to fall asleep. The view of Caneel Bay, Gibney Beach and Easter Rock are amazing. The walk down to Gibney/Oppenheimer beach is very short. We spent many afternoons and lazy days on this very quiet beach. The location of the house is fantastic, only a few short minutes outside of Cruz Bay and just over the hill to Caneel Bay (another great beach or drink and dinner spot). The one downside is that the pictures lead you to believe the pool is private. It is not. If you have neighbors staying at Terahawk, they can see in to the pool area. Also the driveway can be tight if there are more than two cars there as it is shared with Terahawk villa. This is the third villa we have stayed at in St. John as well as Caneel Bay. If you are going to go the villa route this place get an A. It is by far the best villa we have stayed at in St. John. We will go back for sure.

Left on 07/01/2009 for a stay in July 2007
The service from Catered To was exceptional. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Their experience with St John pointed us to Kallaloo. We were within walking distance to a gorgeous beach. Everything we needed from beach chairs to coolers was already there. Kallaloo was clean and the 3 bedrooms and 3 baths were perfect for our family of 5. The location was perfect between all of the beaches to drive to, away from the downtown but still convenient and a lot cooler than the south side of the island. we did not have AC but that worked for us because then we could hear all of the sounds of nature! The pool was fantastic as well. I would return to Kallaloo and work with Catered To and hopefully one day we can!
