My friend and I stayed at this cottage same time last year and it's still wonderful
aga, Log fire, great tempur mattress - all home from home comforts.
As per all the other reviews, clean, comfortable, Robert is only a phone call away to assist with all your needs . This year due to the whether being bad we were freezing on our first night but I called Robert and he put the heating on constant and immediately supplied more logs for the fire ...just a wonderful, relaxing 4 night Easter break with great food, wine, Dvd's and lots of giggles. Thanks for the prosecco Robert, it went down a treat and apologies for all the wine bottles we left for you to recycle, we're not alcoholics...honest :)
Tip ...Go to The Grouse for eats - nice walk and good food. The smoked haddock risotto is excellent ! Thanks again Robert, see you next year ... :) -

UttoxeterPerfect Christmas Cottage
Left on 01/14/2013 for a stay in December 2012
We stayed in this cottage in Novemebr 2011 and thought it would make a great place to go for Christmas with our daughter and her family. We booked it early for 2012 for the Christmas week. It was everything we expected and gave us a wonderful experience of being away from our home at Christmas. The cottage has everything you could want. Very generous sized rooms with great kitchen and bathroom. It was so cosy and warm, justed loved every minute of staying in this cottage. Made friends with the aga and cooked some nice meals. Log fire was great in the evenings. The added extra's they left us and the Christmas tree and Christmas table decoration were a lovely touch. A 5 star cottage.

My partner and I stayed in this fantastic cottage for a week in august. The weather was poor but the wonderful views, tranquility and exceptional amenities of the cottage still made it a very enjoyable break. The cottage was absolutely spotless and the extra touches, such as fresh flowers, welcome pack, freshly laid eggs and toiletries, made it a 5 star holiday home. The cottage was ideally located for walking and if the weather had been better we would have taken full advantage of sitting in the garden, enjoying a bottle of wine and admiring the wonderful views. We had never used an aga before but came away as big fans. We are even bigger fans of Grey Scar View Cottage and can't wait to return.

Grey Scar Cottage (also known as Lower Turnshaw Cottage) is beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean and spacious. It has been refurbished to a very high standard. The hosts, Robert and Debbie, are very welcoming and helpful.
There is a wide variety of activity available both from the doorstep and within the wider area. You can walk to the moors from the cottage or visit the excellent local pub, the Grouse, for a meal. Away from the countryside there is the fascinating industrial heritage village of Saltaire on the outskirts of nearby Bradford. Much information on these, and more, in the comprehensive selection of maps and brochures in the cottage which were much used and much appreciated.
All in all we had a very relaxing and enjoyable week due in no small part to the high quality accommodation and the graciousness of the hosts. -

Grey Scar View Cottage offers the combination of up-to-date furnishings with a traditional Yorkshire farm, with beautiful views across the pastures and rock walls. The location was rural but it was a reasonable walk to the shop for a paper before breakfast each morning. Robert and Debbie and their two daughters were gracious hosts, going beyond the call of duty to make things more pleasant and convenient. We enjoyed having the aGa oven, and we loved the community, having a pleasant meal one night at the Grouse. We also enjoyed our short drive to Haworth for a visit to the Bronte museum and the moors.

My friends and I spent three nights at the gorgeous Grey Scar View Cottage!
The cottage is beautiful, peaceful, well maintained, clean and it has everything you need for a perfect getaway! Fluffy towels, comfy beds, salt and pepper, games, cling film, literature about the local area! Debbie and Robert really have thought of everything!
We were greeted by Robert, shown around the cottage and given a good overview of how everything works - this was very helpful - especially the instructions for the aGa! (We had fun using it!)
A lovely welcome pack was provided - including fresh eggs, coffee, biscuits, milk, tea bags. We were absolutely made up with the cottage and we will be visiting again as soon as possible!
Thank you very much -

This cottage is adorable. The owners Robert and Debra put such effort into making this a comfortable holiday retreat. The Kitchen has everything you could wish for and the owners put in all the basics for our arrival which was a lovely touch. The aGa was great to cook on and kept us toasty warm in the evenings. Everything you can think of is in the kitchen, microwave, large fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, iron and board, torches, welly store - just great !. The lounge is comfortable and snug with two large sofa's and a fab log burner which was easy to use and Robert provded unlimited logs. Panoramic views - wonderful!! . Sheep and a horse on your door step!. Fabulous bathroom and bedrooms. The main bedroom has a Tempur mattress so we slept very well in the king sized bed. There are two single beds in the other bedroom. Fresh flowers thoughout the house also. Great pub just 30 min walk called The Grouse with lovely attentive staff. Have the homemade steak and ale pie. A truly lovely , relaxing cottage - you won't be dissappointed - We've already booked for next year :)

Left on 11/19/2011 for a stay in November 2011
What do we say that hasn't been said by the other reviews this is truly a lovely cottage.
We booked the cottage for my 65th birthday treat and what a treat. Needn't have worried about being cold in November as it was warm from the aga in the kitchen and the log fire in the lounge make this cottage cosy and comfortable. We enjoyed all that this well equiped cottage has to offer, lovely big rooms, great views from all the windows, lovely walks, the Grouse Pub at lunch time and the lovely extra's that Debbie and Robert left out for us.
All in all a wonderful stay, didn't want to leave. -

From the moment we arrived, we were bowled over. Robert & Deborah have thought of everything. There were fresh flowers, delicious biscuits, coffee, fresh eggs, milk in the fridge, a pen for the crossword, lovely Pears soap, soft fluffy towels, comfy beds with high quality bedding, logs for the stove ... everything! The cottage is in a stunning setting, and so peaceful. There are numerous walks - a leisurely stroll or a serious walk, either is an option. There's a cosy pub about 15 minutes walk away. Haworth has a superb restaurant, Weavers (it's in the Good Food Guide), which we walked to one night and got a cab back. We wouldn't have known there was anyone next door, they were so quiet, but they are around if needed. We loved the tame sheep, the horse and the chickens (and their delicious eggs).
There is an aga in the kitchen, which was a big novelty for us. We cooked fine on it, and there's also a microwave if required, and a toaster. The aga keeps the kitchen nice and warm, and is great for drying things out. There's also a washing machine and dishwasher.
We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage, or its great location. -

We hired this beautiful cottage for a long weekend and to meet up with family who live in the area. We have two children 8 months and 3 years old. The views from every window of the house are amazing and at night you can see the lights of villages in the distance twinkling. The resident sheep, horse and chickens welcome you which was great for the children. The house decor was immaculate and very easy to relax in. Highly recommend cooking a roast on the aga and it was also nice to come down to the dining kitchen in the morning as the aga never failed to provide a cosy atmosphere. The log burner at night was another treat and the sofas are very comfy to chill out for the evening. The extras provided made the stay that bit more special such as flowers on the kitchen table, welcome tea, coffee and biscuits. They have even ensured that magazines are up to date and Dvds are new releases for adults and kids. Ooh and the table and chairs in the conservatory are great as its a nice spot to enjoy breakfast or afternoon tea whilst taking in the view and seeing the cows and sheep pop their heads over the neighbouring field walls. The local pub The Grouse Inn is within a 5 min drive or 15 min walk serves excellent food and again has stunning views across the valley. We highly recommend this place and will definitely return.

From our arrival at Lower Turnshaw Farm it was apparent that the pictures representing it do not do it justice. The farm is located in remote (albeit accessible) surroundings with the closest shop being around 15 minutes walk away. The decor is minimalist without losing any of the original charm of the setting, all creature comforts are ensured to the extent of fresh tea, coffee and cookies upon arrival. The minimalist appearance (contrary to instinct) makes it easy to settle in and feel at home and by the first night we had already made use of the wood burning stove.
The owners are lovely people who really add to the whole experience that you get from such a rural retreat like this. Not once did we hear any noise coming from next door and we were only disturbed when we were asked if we needed/wanted anything else. Throughout the week there was always someone there who we could ask for assistance at any time.
You really do get the experience of 'farm living' with this cottage without all the unpleasatries. The local pub is a 15 minute walk away and the views form many of the surrounding highlands is simply indescribable with words. A real unique attribute that defines this cottage from others I have looked into.
All in all our stay was a stay to remember, and we shall definitely be enquiring again someday in the future. -

We had a wonderful week in Grey Scar View Cottage. The views were amazing, with Haworth across the valley and the house was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. We loved getting acquainted with the aGa in the kitchen. We found a lot of information in the cottage concerning walks, places of interest and local history. The local pub was well worth a visit! Our children had a great time playing around the house. They loved the horse and the sheep. Thanks to our hosts Robert and Debbie! We hope to come back some time and will definitely recommend this cottage to our friends and family.

Greated on arrival by a smile and friendly face.
The accommodation was fantastic, newly decorated with continued warmth coming from the aga creating a cosy atmosphere on an evening. Better than that were the views across the countryside from wherever you looked.
We particulalry enjoyed the location as it had good access to the countryside and also other local amenities and towns such as Saltaire, Skipton and the Bronte Country.
The owners were very helpful and made us feel very welcome and that nothing was a problem.
We would definitily return but for longer next time and recommend to anybody looking for a nice relaxing break/holiday.
