Rustic home on Hayden Lake with fantastic views. Close to town yet surrounded by trees to give you that remote feeling.
The house is well suited for larger groups with sleeping for up to 12. The split layout is ideal for 2 families or adults upstairs and kids in the lower level. The fenced yard means that younger kids can be kept safe or pets contained.

It's always nice when you arrive at your destination vacation & it exceeds your expectations tenfold. We our on our last week of a fabulous month & would stay longer if not re-rented. Thank you Dave, owner & Debbie, property manager. We will be back!

Bayou VistaNice rental for the price

My sister located this rental on line. This house sleeps 12 but is difficult to have any privacy given there are only 3 bedrooms. Actually, there are two bedrooms upstairs and a large open room downstairs with a whole bunch of beds down there. So the majority of people can sleep downstairs, but everyone is in the same room. My sister and her husband and two little kids and two of my brothers slept down there and between the baby crying and the snoring brother, it was hard to sleep. The decor is outdated. from the pictures it looks like the lake house is actually on the lake. Not so. It's a walk down the hillside, then across a busy street then down more steps. It's not a great place for little kids. Too many hazards.
On the upside, it was half the price of many others available especially during peak season.
It would have been helpful to know that the house wasn't on the lake. I would recommend this house rental to adults only.Response from David Raiman - 08/10/2011

All the statements made by the reviewer are true so this is not a rebuttal. The listing does show there are only 3 bedrooms so if there were 12 people, clearly, there would be a lot of sharing of space. Also, the map on the listing correctly shows the road between the house and the lake. I would contend that adults need to supervise children at the water so any house right on the lake would be a danger for unattended children playing in the yard. Our yard is fully fenced keeping kids from wandering down to the water or on the road.
We deliberately look for "old style" decorations to keep theme of the 60s -- "rustic" in real estate terms. There's little that is fancy so there is less risk of kids or pets damaging fragile decor.
I hope that despite the noisy sleeping conditions folks otherwise had a good time during their stay.
