Relax & discover the magic of staying in a Cornish Beach Chalet. Here at Gwithian Sands we are close to the beach and centrally situated. Walk along meandering footpaths through grassy dunes that lead to the 3 miles of golden sands of St Ives Bay.
On the beach can be found rock pools teaming with life, small caves waiting to be explored & some of the best surf in Cornwall. Even at the height of summer the beach is never overcrowded & with patrolling lifeguards it allows you to relax while the kids have fun.

Our chalets are situated on a small family run site nestled in the side of the dunes.
DIRECTIONS
Stay on the A30 until you see Hayle , take the 4th exit off large roundabout. You then hit 2 mini roundabouts, bear right and go up Loggans Road parallel to Lidl supermarket. You will then see St Ives Bay Holiday Park on the left, carry on past and you will come into Upton Towans, carry on up the hill and you will see a red sign telling you there is a sharp left hand bend approx 150 yards after the sign you will see some flags and a sign saying Atlantic Coast Caravan Park, pull in and follow the tarmac road around and you will come to our chalets nestled in the dunes.

having taken several holidays with our two dogs before it was so nice not to be penalised for it previous places have been shabby cold and damp in urgent need of refurbishment bucket and spade could not have been more different spotlessly clean homely and comfortable the tea and coffee was such a lovely touch a short walk into miles of dunes where our two little monsters could wear themselves out and all local amenities just down the road hope to be back next year

My husband & i stayed here with our 3 jack russells, the chalet was absolutly perfect, so well equiped & spotless. The location was brilliant, lovely & peaceful, just what we needed to relax & unwind, the weather was fabulous, which was a bonus.The managers of the site were lovely & friendly.Just a disappointment as far as the dogs were concerned, we could not go on any beach with them, as they were banned, so i was not happy about this, never got to go on the beach on holiday, gosh i was so frustrated.

Just far enough away from hayle to be quiet but near enough for Local amenities .
Set in the Towans so easy access for walking. Spectacular gwythian sands beach nearby. Be sure to walk over to sunset surf cafe we found out why it has it's name when we sat watching a gorgeous sunset over a drink and they do great food as well.
Chalet is clean spacious and has all equipment for cooking etc.
Owners were there when we were and we're very friendly and helpful.
We have been twice and have enjoyed it, myself and my two daughters and we will come again I'm sure . -

We stayed at twice as nice the last week in July and thoroughly enjoyed it. The chalet was spotless and well equiped. The kids (aged 5 and 8) could play outside safely (which is a bonus!). A short walk through the sand dunes brings you to miles of beach. Alternatively, a short drive to carbis bay (park at the bottom of the hill - £3 dearer but well worth it when your taking bodyboards, football,buckets and spades etc back!) and the beach there is more sheltered with fine sand. We also went to sennen cove which is only about 30mins away. The weather wasnt too bad-only rained once -we went to geevor tin mine and st michaels mount. If you are looking for a chilled out family holiday, where the facilities are clean and comfortable, the site is quiet and safe - then this is for you! Will defo look at coming back. Defo recommend to families!

we have both had holidays in Cornwall over the years but this one in Hayle with Twice as Nice Chalets was easily the best yet.The setting in which the chalets sit is to die for!those sand dunes & the setting sun over the loveliest of English beaches had you losing time throughout the day.Most of all was the privacy we were aforded,from the time we arived to our departure.We were also given loads of ideas for local &further; away days out of interest, inc' packs provided by the Cornish tourism centre.The only fly in the ointment was the site shop which only opened at9am(if you wanted a paper or emergency item)& it had very little stock.However there are large supermarkets 4-5 mins drive away if needed.If you want a las vegas holiday don't go to twice as nice Gwithian Sands.But if you want to recharge your batteries or a lovely family holiday this is where to go.Time stands still!!!

Wir (2 erwachsene Paare) verbrachten 2 Wochen in dem Beach-Haus. Alles trafen wir so an, wie es auf den Bildern zu sehen ist. Die Räume waren sauber und die ausstattung wirkte neu. Wer ambitionierter Koch ist, sollte vielleicht ein paar Utensilien von zu Hause mitbringen. Die Küche ist zwar ausgestattet mit Geschirr, Töpfen, 1 Pfanne, Wasserkocher, Bodum-Kaffeemaschine (...) eine Profi-Ausrüstung darf man für den Preis aber nicht erwarten.
Das Chalet ist schön und ruhig direkt bei den Dünen gelegen. Vor Ort sollte man auf jeden Fall ein auto haben, da es zwar einen kleinen Shop am Platz gibt, größere Einkaufsmöglichkeiten jedoch zu Fuß schwer erreichbar sind. Zu zwei Beachbars und einem Pub kommt man aber gut zu Fuß (ca. 15 Min.).
Die Vermieterin war äußerst zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit und informierte uns kontinuierlich über Möglichkeiten der Freizeitgestaltung, sollte das Wetter 'mal nicht mitspielen. So bekam man einige Insidertipps und wir fühlten uns wohl! -

I am at the chalets now and the comments made by IaN T are completely wrong. The chalets are lovely and have everything you need. They are spitless and well maintained.
We have stayed here for years and still come back every year. 2 adults and 2 teenagers have no issues at all. -

Could'nt fault the location lovely part of Cornwall ideal for all attractions. Sadly thats where it ends! On arrival we had to contact the owner to get a mop and bucket and spent the next hour cleaning the chalet! Owner didnt seem concerned and when the cleaner brought the mop she was even less concerned.Our party consisted of 3 adults and 1 teen and that was a squeeze! The shower was only ever luke warm with no pressure, the bath must of been out of a dolls house and you couldnt use the sink because of a shelf over it which you banged your face on and watch out for the window cleaner who likes to clean the windows when your in the shower!!! The beds!!! they were so hard nobody got a goods nite sleep and was one off the many reasons we left early. The living space had 1 couch which like the beds was so uncomfortable and 2 hard chairs noway enough bearing in mind the chalet sleeps 6?? As for the electric meter! take a generator it will be cheaper!! and if you go when its cooler take plenty of cloths and a decent quilt as the heating is useless!! My in laws who were with us stayed in another chalet and they complained of a musty smell.Lovely site, chalet very poor! stay in one of the statics instead!!!

We pride ourselves on our reputation and in the 10 years of owing our chalets we have never had such feedback. Our chalets are decorated to a high spec as our repeat customers vouch for, I feel you have been very unfair in your comments, we immediately tried to resolve your issues which were taken extremely seriously. Perhaps this was just not the sort of holiday for you.

Everything you could wish for,.
Went with our 2 dogs who loved to run around in the sand dunes and then on the wide sandy beach. not sure who was more worn out ,them or us,
Chalets where well equiped , although a chopping board would have been good.
Plenty of space for 2 +2 dogs, not sure if it would be very comfy with 6 and all their luggage.
with that said we had a great week and the weather was good too. -

We have stayed in Cornwall many times but Gwithian Sands is definitely my favourite place. The site is clean and spacious with gorgeous painted wooden chalets. A beautiful setting with access over the dunes to miles of golden sand, great surf, and rock pools. Our chalet was spotless with fresh flowers waiting for us. We'll be back again soon.

The Holiday Chalets are in a fantastic location, directly on the sand dunes. The site is a perfect place to use as a base to explore the best beaches on the Cornish Coast or just sit and relax on the decking. A family run location with no single-sex groups makes this an ideal family get away.
Just a 15 minute steady walk across the sand dunes and you are on a 3 mile long golden beach with crystal clear rock pools and some caves to explore. There is always plenty of space to 'be on your own' with your kids.
The central area of the site makes and ideal safe playing area for the children to enjoy, and parents to watch them safely, when and if they ever tire of playing on the sand dunes.
The Chalets are spotlessly clean and have all of the utilies that you could wish for to make your holiday perfect. The decor and furniture are ideal, plenty of attention has been put into these Chalets that should make every visitor feel welcome.
This Chalet was the ideal place to get away from the daily grind and relax, perfect in every way. -
