Utterly Perfect Getaway
Thank you! The most perfect place - exceeding my expectations - and I really needed this R & R!
Beautiful and tasteful furnishing - real thought has clearly gone into making this such a comfortable place to be. And that wonderful bed!!! Fabulous location right in heart of town, yet with a peaceful, secluded feel.
I leave here refreshed and ready to face the world again with a car boot full of new books! Sarah Smith

Utterly Perfect Retreat
This is the perfect cottage to explore Hay and the surrounding area. Very central location and handy for shops, pubs, restaurants. The cottage has everything required for a very comfortable stay. We have greatly enjoyed our time here and would like to return at some point. A very happy stay. Thank you. Terri Clayton & Helen Padwick, Wakefield, W. Yorkshire

A true hideaway. We love this place, just a few strides from Hay town centre yet hidden away from it all in a picturesque cobbled courtyard. A warm welcome and a relaxed atmosphere- its the perfect place to stay to get away from it all. Emma & Steve
Great week away
A lovely, peaceful and quiet week. Thank you very much. We haven't had such a late lie-in since we were students! We were lucky enough to get a couple of lovely cold, crisp days to enjoy the fire too. Rebecca and Phil, Bristol
A wonderful long weekend, thank you! Some of the best nights sleep we have had - the bed lives up to its reputation, and waking up to tweeting birds is a welcome relief from the rumbling London buses we are used to! A very well-appointed cottage - everything we needed we found, and the little extras are a lovely touch.

A special Hideaway in Hay-on-Wye
Séza and Michael's eye for delightful detail is apparent from the moment you step into the Stables, in fact on entering the courtyard. Important little touches made our short stay so much more comfortable, such as cooking essentials, tea and good coffee in the well-equipped little kitchen and Séza's luxurious lotions and potions in the bathroom, where it was a delight to wallow in the bath.
We happily parked up our car, being able to easily walk to everything we wanted to do in Hay. Blessed with the most beautiful of English - sorry, Welsh! - summer weather, we did the six mile walk out of town (leaflet in the comprehensive local information file) and had a pleasant morning's canoeing with Pedals & Paddles. Thanks to Michael for his dining recommendations - we enjoyed tapas and a very pleasant evening at Tomatitos and good local food at The Old Black Lion, and cooked local steaks from the recommended Small Farm Butcher, and delights from the deli. We finished our 'Hay stay' at the luxurious little Cinema Bookshop just two minutes' walk away, and a nightcap in the quiet courtyard.
Whatever the weather, it's a beautiful little hideaway in Séza & Michael's creation.
Fabulous place for relaxing weekend
We had the most wonderfully relaxing weekend in this fabulous cottage. Great location for exploring Hay on Wye and all its wonderful bookshops. A real treat to be abel to pop back to the cottage quickly and easily whenever we needed. The restaurant recommendations were also much appreaciated. The tapas place was wonderful just what we needed after a long drive, and the griffin was amazing for Sunday Lunch. We would also recommend the cinema. Simon and Chrissy Hardy
A gem and balm to the soul
The Stables is beautifully designed to be a delight to the eye and a balm to the soul! From the huge, comfortable bed, well-equipped kitchen and spacious bathroom, this is a gem. Attention to detail is breathtaking - there is even a silver spoon for the bath salts!! Sheila Egan
Beautiful, charming, homely, luxurious
Without a doubt the most beautiful and charming place we have ever stayed. The Stables are an absolute delight with perfect decor and very special finishing touches. It's homely and luxurious - everything you would want for a magical getaway. We wouldn't usually stay at the same place twice, but we can't wait for our next visit to the Stables. thank you for sharing it with us. xxx

This is a 'must stay' in Wales
What a beautiful cottage! We've had a great few days staying here, enjoying days on long walks and pony trekking, topping it all off with an evening in front of the log burner. Super!
Already planning our return trip to Hay.
Emma & Dave
A great hideaway in a charming but central location.
An excellent few days. The cottage is well equipped and well located. We enjoyed good walks and the town. Bookshops, cafes, Thursday market, individual shops not the usual chains. It was good to walk to good restaurants and to buy quality produce in the local shops. The cottage welcome was excellent making sure all the facilities were explained. Sadly the weather made the drier a valuable facility! Loved the huge range of perfumes and cream and toiletries - one of so many personal touches. We suspect we will be back!!

Charming place to stay, relaxing getaway.
The Stables cottage was charming and cosy. Hay is a beautiful town. Would recommend visiting the Black Mountains - spectacular view and drive there.
Most relaxing stay.

A relaxing and beautiful stay with home-from-home qualities at 5
Thank you Seza and Michael for a fabulous stay in the very quirky cottage. We automatically felt at home, and it certainly didn't take Erin long to adapt to her new home. Local area is beautiful with plenty of cheap and fun activities for all. Best-equipped and located self-catering accommodation we've experienced worldwide. Plus the weather was brilliant for 'wet Wales'.
Tim, Hayley and Erin
An indulgence !
Short, wet weekend, but this lovely cottage was a perfect base to relax and hideaway from the inclement weather. We will definitely consider coming back in the summer.
The bathroom was like a spa with all the products!
My favourite place in the world
As ever, a perfect stay in the nicest cottage I've ever stayed in. Michael and Seza never disappoint - thank you both so much, I really could stay here forever
Ali & Joia
Cozy cottage for cold days !
Michael & Seza - thank you... Perfect in every way. Alison & Joia
A wonderfully relaxing break.
We had a fabulous few days in Hay-on-Wye. A wonderful welcome from Séza and Michael at the Stables.
The weather could not have been much colder but we were warm and cozy with the wood burner.
Lots of nice touches - milk in the fridge, chocolate biscuits and homemade crab apple jelly.
Very comfy bed!
The best place to eat for us was the Tapas Bar - Tomatitos, and the best pint - Timothy Taylors - at the Blue Boar. Ruth & Neil, Marlborough
Loved it, we'll be back in a couple of months
Thank you for the perfect place to spend a romantic weekend away. Your advice on places to go and things to do was invaluable and we had a wonderful time in Hay and its surroundings (once we managed to leave the gorgeous cottage). The home-made crab apple jelly was delicious and was a lovely touch. We'll be back again in the summer! R & F

A Haven in the heart of Hay
Many thanks for our break in such a well-appointed, idyllic cottage. the Stables are hugely comfortable with great attention to detail; perfect for a romantic get-away. Undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and well-equipped s/c properties we have stayed in. Within easy reach of all that Hay has to offer, and yet the temptation is to stay indoors! Thanks again. Ruth and Tony, Chipping Norton
A beautiful hideaway in a lovely place.
Thank you for the warm welcome, and the comfortable, luxurious surroundings! The cottage is beautiful, the beds extremely comfortable, and the location in Hay absolutely perfect. We have had a wonderfully relaxing time, and felt very spoilt. The attention to detail is very much appreciated. Lucy & Matthew
Romantic, Relaxing Getaway
We spent a totally unforgettable week here early last autumn. Michael could not have been more helpful in taking time to familiarise us with the many thoughtful touches and features which embellished this very fine tranquil property set right in the heart of Hay. We very much plan to visit again when our busy schedules permit and would recommend this property to anyone with a need to recharge their batteries within a most romantic yet stimulating setting. The secure off-street parking, the huge comfy bed, the water features outside our door and the glorious bathroom were all features which, in their different ways, bolstered our well-being and contentment.
Erin & Andrew
Charmed to bits
We had such a wonderful time staying in the medieval Stables. The space was clean and welcoming. We felt so cosy here - we wanted to stay another week! The bed is magnificent, wherever did you get it!? Hay is a brilliant town, and we had a very relaxing time.
Plus the best sunday lunch, ever, is served at The Blue Boar. We highly recommend it.
Thank you, Michael & Seza! Andrew & Erin
Our home away from home
From the moment we stepped into the quiet cobblestoned courtyard, we entered another world hidden from view. We had such a lovely stay in this perfectly appointed, romantic cottage. We had the feeling we were staying in someone's carefully appointed home. The Stables have been furnished with such care and attention, with every comfort and mod con, but far beyond the predictable bare necessity. It is the antithesis of a cold and impersonal holiday home, ideally situated in the centre of the village within easy walking distance to all the shops and sights. We shall return again and again.
Linda and Tony / London
I'll be beack!
I can only agree with all the other plaudits written in the guest book at the cottage. One instinctively knows on arrival whether the cottage is going to be a home from home and the Stables does not disappoint - when you add the warm welcome from Michael you know you are on to a winning combination. I have had a fabulous week. The hill walking has been wonderful and the views stunning! Rain has not been a problem with such a delightful cottage and the friendliness of the Hay residents.
We all enjoyed our first stay at Hideaways which was very tastefully decorated. We're going to have to get some of the furniture and other bits as we liked the decor. We'd all love to come back at some point in the future but perhaps when abel is older! (He's only 7 weeks old and can't read yet!).
Andy, Phoebe and abel :)
Ideal cottage for the area - great find!
Super cosy cottage, very well equipped. So much so we never ate out, so cannot speak for the eateries. As for a drink, the crazy Kilvert's round the corner was great. The Three Tuns fine, and The Black Lion less so. Great position for pubs, walks, books, and all shops and transport. Great stuff.
Chris and Maggie / Greenwich, London
Carol & Clive
A warm welcome awaits at Hideaways In Hay. Seza and Michael make comfortable your stay, not a thing overlooked and, as for the books...! No mean feat, it's a treat at Hideaways In Hay. We had a lovely time. Thanks for making our stay memorable.

Charming bolthole in Hay
Cosy accommodation, ideally situated, gracious host.
Walton on Thames
Charming and perfectly located
There's always a certain trepidation when renting a holiday cottage - will we be as comfortable as at home? Well, this cottage exceeds expectations. Not only is there every comfort (a choice of perfumes in the bathroom) but the eclectic and artistic mix of furnishings and objects charm and enchant in every nook and cranny. Outside the lush planting clothes walls, tiny spaces are made magical with water, ferns, and lighting.
Hay does not disappoint either : the legendary bookshops; the antique shops; the meandering river Wye. We have also been treated to wall-to-wall sunshine after a wet spring. This is a perfect retreat from everyday stress. Thank you to Michael and Seza for a slice of heavenly peace.
Lovely stay in a wonderful cottage
Thank you for a lovely stay in such a beautiful cottage;we really enjoyed our stay, and will be back again.
Lucy, John and baby Chace x
A truly wonderful hideaway, 5 stars aren't enough!
We had a wonderful stay at your cottage in Hay! It was the best rest we could hope for. The welcome Michael gave us as he picked us up and drove us from the station to Hay was most heroic! With a bottle of wine and a jar of your home made jam waiting for us, we were able to start on our vacation.
The location of the cottage couldn't have been better - we could walk around town and shop for books and local food, and pop back in with our finds to eat, relax and recharge before heading out again. We will most certainly be coming back to Hay-on-Wye and look forward to staying at the Stables again! Michael and Lise
Caroline & Elvis
One of the warmest welcomes ever and The Stables are beautiful. Stay here - you won't be disappointed! Big thank you, Caroline and Elvis, Manchester xx

Ancient charm with modern comforts
When very wet weather drives you inside for hours on end it provides a good test of a place. We're pleased to say The Stables performed very well - comfortable, pleasant, well-equipped. Eg the comfy sofa; the controllable underfloor heating; the digital TV and DVD, the good cooker and fridge/freezer.
In high summer the lack of a garden space might not fit everyone's needs.
The town, quietly 'on the doorstep', is excellent for browsing and essential provisions. We did get out for some satisfying walking: (i) Lord Hereford's Knob (ii) The Taff Trail and Usk Valley Walk, starting form Pencelli (iii) the beautiful Ewyas valley nearby, with its ruined Llantony Priory.
Thank you Michael and Seza.

Luxury and comfort in Hay-on-Wye Hideaway cottage
A very good short break enhanced by the beautiful surroundings in The Stables. If only the weather was up to the same standard or dry at least. We love coming back to the snug Stables with all the little extras to make it a very special break again. In fact we love Hay so much that we have now moved here!
Fantastic weekend break in excellent accomodation
What a wonderful weekend in lovely Hay-on-Wye and such a perfect place to stay - couldn't have asked for more. "You should definitely stay at Hideaways in Hay!" x
Very Well Looked after in a Wonderful Cottage
We've had a wonderful weekend in Hay. Our 'Hideaway in Hay' has been the perfect location for our holiday. Thanks so much to Michael and Seza for a lovely warm welcome and for providing everything we could need - the chocolate and wine were much appreciated.

Wonderful Hideaways In Hay
We couldn't have asked for a more lovely place to stay. Hideaways-in-Hay and Hay have been perfect in every way! Thank you. Best wishes Mimi and Nick
Dear Seza and Michael, Just one word ... perfection! I was needing a place to unwind and reflect and couldn't have found more perfect surroundings. I feel so revived and restored having enjoyed the peace and quiet in your beautiful Medieval Stables. Your attention to detail is exquisite and it has been joy to relax in such creative and beautiful rooms. I've enjoyed fantastic walks by the river and hours browsing in book shops, of course. I can't wait to return to this idyllic place and to enjoy your warm hospitality again. Warmest wishes and love, Gilly Cutts - Ripley, Surrey.
Absolutely delightful - exceeds expectations!
You have thought of everything - from the mood lighting, luxury toiletries and fluffy robe in the bathroom to the welcome note, bottle of wine and logs chopped for the wood-burner - there is no detail you have overlooked. The Stables is truly a home from home and simply the nicest and most comfortable self-catering holiday I have ever had, and all in the most glorious countryside location. I will definitely return! Thank you for the most wonderful week. Paula, Windsor, Berkshire
A perfect hidden gem.
This place certainly lives up to its name 'Hideaway" but still in centre of town. A wonderful place to escape to. Very well equipped, with lovely little "extras" to welcome you. An ideal place to recharge your batteries!
Thank you, Catherine and Colleen
We have had the most relaxing two weeks in your lovely cottage, thank you. It was very much a home away from home with everything we could possibly need.
We had a decent curry but a dodgy burger at the Blue Boar, a couple of good bar meals at the Three Tuns (they do a rather good chocolate brownie), and several trips to the brilliant Richard Booth's Cafe (would have been more if they were open Mon and Tues!).
We've walked up Hay Bluff and Lord Hereford's Knob - wonderful views and had a ramble over the Brecon Beacons from the Visitor Centre (after a Black Mountain beef pie - amazing)
The cottage has been a perfect place to come back to after walks but also the perfect place to spend a rainy afternoon reading. We hope to come back
Romantic, relaxing getaway
What a wonderful weekend. Everything was just as we'd hoped... the warm welcome and treats on arrival, a cosy and inviting cottage, a real retreat. Even the weather was perfect! We look forward to returning - hopefully for longer next time.
A Happy New Year
Dear Seza and Michael, Thank you for making us feel so welcome at The Stables - a perfect haven to see in the New Year - the furnishing very tasteful and elegant, and the prints and paintings took you to other places and times. All within easy reach of the wild and beautiful Black Mountains. We had an invigorating walk up Lord Herefords Knob in the wind on New Years Day! With very best wishes to you both for the New Year.
The perfect hideaway!
Thank you so much for a wonderful, relaxing stay. We've loved putting our feet up in front of the fire and walking into town for a couple of drinks. The perfect start to our Christmas holidays! Thanks again.
Home from home in great location
Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. We have had a lovely few days staying in your beautiful cottage in Hay. Perfect cottage in a perfect location and close to town. Our 7 month old son felt very at home here, as did we which made for a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. Many thanks and best wishes.
Warm, cosy, peaceful in the heart of Hay
Our first visit to Hay and we were not disappointed. This cottage is home from home, and we relaxed from the moment we arrived. The weather has been very cold during our stay so we have much enjoyed lighting the fire and sharing some wine in the evenings. We would definitely recommend this cottage to friends.Thank you for your warm welcome, fabulous bottle of red and crab apple jelly!
Wonderfully relaxing, lovely hosts
The small touches made our stay here truly memorable - the wine and chocolate on arrival, the tasteful decorative details, leaving every map and guide we could need, printing off another when more was required, and the delightful company! Thank you. We don't want to leave!
Brilliant - again!
As expected - perfect in every detail. All we needed to relax and re-charge - thank you! We will return, again! Phil & Jen Mullis, Sheffield
Karen and Neil
Definitely recommend this hideaway
What a great place! Great shops, great pubs, great walks, just a lovely place to be. Best of all, what a brilliant little cottage to do it all from! Very comfy, very central and so peaceful. Just what we needed.
What a beautiful place. We felt relaxed as soon as we came through the door, and then ever after. Lovely and quiet, very comfy bed, cosy and warm.
Thank you for the warm welcome - just what's needed after a long drive. We love Hay, the Wye and the curious, quirky atmosphere. We'll be back

Convenientl and quaint in Hay-on-Wye
A very relaxing weekend for my wife's 4X birthday. Beautiful countryside and scenery during the day with a peaceful and comfortable place to return to at the end of the day. Lots of reading material (extra points from my wife).
A great experience
A lovely and well equipped cottage with an extremely comfortable bed and exceptionally helpful and informative hosts. The surrounding countryside was far more spectacular and unique than we had anticipated. The Three Tuns was in our opinion superior to the Old Black Lion but both are very good. Red Indigo was a very good quality Indian. However, Richard Booth's Cafe was head and shoulders above any other establishment. Quite simply superb and at an incredible price for the quality. Don't be put off by a 15/20 minute wait, it is well worth it. Everything we tried on the menu was great and the chips/aioli a wonderful side dish. Do not miss out on the pannacotta if on the day's menu. Avoid The Granary if at all possible unless microwaved standard home cooking and disinterested service is your bag. If you get a clear day the Cat's Back (Black Hill) walk is an absolute must. We will be back to climb Lord Hereford's Knob on another occasion.
A wonderful place to hide away
The best appointed Hideaway for staying in or stepping out...Hay Bluff; river walks; bookshops; butchers, bakers, markets, restaurants, cafés. A wonderful break. Many thanks.
Thank you for providing such a comfortable little haven for our first visit to Hay. We have had some lovely walks, great meals and a very good time.
The attention to detail was appreciated. We may be back!
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC
We can't say enough good things about this fabulous spot.
R & R in your charming Brookfield Stables... in this very interesting town ... lots of fabulous restaurants locally and within an hour's drive... beautiful walks along the Wye just a stones' throw away ... even matinees at Stratford, 2 hours away. Just perfect! Thank you so much Seza & Michael for creating this delightful spot and for all your gracious care. We couldn't ask for more ... we shall have to return! Mary ann & John, USA

Luxurious, chic and romantic - you will love it!
Thank you for giving us such a special week in your beautiful cottage. You have been perfect hosts and we appreciate the efforts you have made to make the cottage so charming, and attractive, with all the extra little touches. After a week's cycling, reading and chilling out in this lovely part of the country, we are amazed how re-energized we feel! We will return. Many thanks and best wishes. Brighton
A Relaxing and Peaceful Stay
Thank you for the warm and informative welcome and the thoughtful gifts. We really enjoyed our week's stay in the Stables, particularly the comfy bed, the well equipped kitchen and the sheltered arbour in the courtyard... We love Hay and the surrounding area and had a great time walking, shopping, eating and relaxing. We hope to come back.
relaxing, comfortable and romantic
What a relaxing environment! Our recommendations are: - use the leaflet to do a walking tour of Hay - Walk to the top of Hay Bluff - Canoe to the pub - Visit the market on a Thursday but don't worry about getting there for 6am!!! - the waterfalls north of Ponneddfechan - walking at Fan Fawr - Pony Trekking at Tregoed!!! - Smallfarms is the best butcher. We hope to visit again soon. Susie Down & George alder, Devon

A great few days in Medival stables in Hay on yye
A very sensitive conversion of an old stable building. So many individual design ideas with many vintage touches, gave me a few ideas. The location is great, so close to the town. Pubs, etc and yet so quiet and peaceful. Everything you need in the kitchen, the bedroom a delight, so tasteful. Everything so clean as well. Plenty to do around both town and surround areas. Michael & Seza have clearly spent a great deal of thought and effort putting together the cottage for guests. Pat & Mel Hagan
In a word, "lovely"!
Dear Michael & Seza, thank you, so much - I have had a wonderful few days at The Stables. It's comfortable, beautifully decorated - the Crab apple Jelly was lovely - as were the Toblerones on the bed! It's a lovely place to stay & I'd certainly come again if you'll have me.
Barrie and Rosemary Woodcock
Wonderful accommodation in a wonderful location
We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your lovely well equipped cottage (and the most comfortable bed!). Thank you for your warm welcome and gifts which are very much appreciated. We hope to return. The drive from Hay Bluff down the valley to Llanthony Priory on a sunny day is beautiful (and very good food and beer at the Priory).

A beautiful hideaway
A beautiful hideaway in a stunning setting! We've had such a relaxing stay here: walking, horse riding, eating, drinking and sleeping - in the bed that deserves its reputation! Can wholeheartedly recommend Richard Booth's café just around the corner. Thank you, Michael and Séza, for your warm welcome.
Matthew & Fiona Finch
Simply sumptuous!! Highly recommended
Dear Séza and Michael,
We've had the most wonderful weekend here at the Stables, and wish to thank you from be bottom of our hearts for making such a beautiful and welcoming retreat for us. We have felt so at home here, and truly feel that you have added a touch of yourselves to the home with all the beautiful and thoughtful decorations. The bed however, is coming home with us - we have never slept quite so well as we have here! Apologies to future guests who may not have such enveloping comfort for their stay! :)
Fabulous to be so central in Hay, yet also to maintain a sense of isolation.
Perfect! We'll definitely be back (after saving up a suitable amount of spending money to fully indulge ourselves in the many, many wonderful shops). Our love, gratitude and best wishes for future success go to you both...
Mathew & Fiona Finch.
PS. Had to leave the bed, we could not fit it into the back of the Mini :( xx
PPS. Blt & Chips for lunch at the Black Lion was enormous and delicious - perfect for setting you up for an afternoon of strolling around. Dinner at the Three Tuns excellent, obviously a gifted chief with a great understanding of simple food cooked to perfection..

Peace, quiet, charm and olive oil - what more could we ask for...All the planned outings went out of the window as we pottered round Hay, bought way too many books and enjoyed a free movie at the Globe. And all within 5 minutes' walk.
A Hidden Jewel
Thank you for a very enjoyable stay- the stables were cosy and nice to return home to after a day exploring. Lots of individual sites in Hay and nice walks right from the front door!
Joyce & Ray
We didn't realise how stressed we must have been on arrival. Left completely chilled and wishing we could stay longer. Hope to return in the autumn!
A hidden gem!
What a delightful cottage.
Everything has been thought of - we couldn't have asked for more.
A wonderful location - so close to the town, yet so quiet, peaceful and private.
An amazing holiday retreat.
We can recommend The Black Lion for food - very good menu and excellent service.
All in all, a fantastic holiday weekend.

The Stables is packed with character and charm.
Love the towel warmer, bath cubes and awesome bed.
Mostly it was wonderful to feel so welcome, being so far from home.
An excellent retreat, plenty of shopping and gorgeous countryside.

A true Hideaway
Hay, as always, is guaranteed to provide the absorbing mix of walks and books! The Stables is very well equipped, very comfortable, tranquil and certainly very stylish. We look forward to returning.

A little oasis of tranquillity
We really enjoyed our few days here, in our little oasis of tranquillity!
Everything one could wish for is here - and all furnished with such style and flair.
The Stables is a very unique and special place.
We were sorry to have to leave, and hope to come back soon.
A blissful escape
An absolutely beautiful retreat from the stresses of "city lifeâ€, quiet with so much to see and do.
The Stables are a lovely place to chill out and have everything you need for that break: well-appointed, relaxing, and with very pleasant and attentive owners.
Even if you don't fancy cooking there are plenty of great eating places (and watering holes) within a few minutes walk...oh and there is a couple of bookshops close by too!!
Will definitely be back. Sooner rather than later!!

Classy cosy comfort
Beautifully finished cosy cottage, generously fitted out to a high standard.
Right in the centre of Hay which is intriguing.
Great welcome, and from the bathrobes to the fluffy towels, somewhere just to relax into.
A perfect gem
We have been totally spoilt for our short break.
Just what we needed to recharge our batteries.
The cottage is of the highest standard and the attention to detail shows.
An idyllic and comfortable cottage - a credit to our hosts Michael & Séza.
We had heavy snow and up to minus 8 degrees centigrade temperatures while we were here, but felt so warm and cosy.
The walks even in the snow were fantastic.
Very friendly town and we will recommend this cottage to everyone we meet... Thank you.

Five Stars is not enough!
A very comfortable and cosy cottage with everything we needed and more for a relaxing holiday.
A great base for walking in the Black Mountains.
Loved the variety of shops and pubs in Hay.

Stay here! You won't regret it.
Just charming cottage.
We have had just a wonderful stay.
We have been so comfortable. We will; be back.
Amazing surroundings, had a great day shopping.
Fantastic food - pubs all around 10/10. Thank you very much...

Delilah - our energetic two-year-old - would like to say that she had a wonderful holiday in The Stables at Hay. Self-catering is a more practical option with kids, and The Stables fitted our requirements perfectly - style, comfort and practicality.
Being so close to the centre of the town was very welcome, but we were also delighted by how quiet it was. There was plenty of space inside for the three of us and the cottage is equipped with everything you could need.
We were particularly touched that Michael & Séza bought a travel cot and high chair specially for us. Very impressive. We will be back!
Ps The Indian take-away and all the shops in town are marvellous!
Absolutely Delightful - A Great Stay
Charming cottage to spend a week of rest and relaxation. Perfect hideaway for two!
The Medieval Stables certainly met our high expectations. We have stayed in many holiday cottages and been somewhat disappointed - particularly with the bed!! But not here... the bed is heaven for the best night's sleep ever.
Wonderful walks up on the moors and Black Mountains.
Plums for sale by the roadside, at £1 a bag, made delicious plum crumble.
Our son visited us and had the most 'hoofing' bike ride whilst here... an expression they use in the Royal Marines!

A hidden gem - thoroughly recommended!
We loved staying in this cosy, comfortable little cottage with its eclectic mix of books & objects d'art.
There are many thoughtful touches which made our stay really special.
We have really enjoyed being in the centre of Hay, but hidden away!
There is plenty to do and great places to eat. We can recommend The Old Black Lion, The Three Tuns and the Blue Boar, friendly service and lovely food in all!
Thank you !!

An idyllic, charming retreat - a perfect romantic getaway!
Thank you so much for such a relaxing holiday in this beautiful cottage.
Excellent location - great for coming back and forth with more books from Hay!
We've both had a wonderful time and would love to return.
And Tom would like to give a final thanks to Michael for the use of his scanner! You couldn't have been more accommodating.

We were delighted when we first saw the cottage. Its magical setting in the courtyard is peaceful and private - yet so close to town. We've enjoyed a very comfortable stay. Thank you Seza and Michael! We would love to come back agin. Thank you.
A beautiful place to stay!
A delightful few days in Hay!
The Stables has been a quiet and relaxing place to stay, very comfortable and a great location for walking to and from the bookshops with armfuls of literature!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The accommodation exceeded our already high expectations.
We loved the individual shops in Hay.
Walking in the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons, especially the Sugar Loaf and Cat's Back was a treat.
We would happily recommend this experience to our friends.

Hideaways in Hay - Exceeding all Expectations
What a wonderful place and what wonderful hosts!
A beautiful cottage in a lovely town, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location was idyllic and the cottage was very romantic!
There was nothing that could be faulted and nothing was too much for Michael & Seza.
We'd certainly like to come back and we will be recommending it to friends and family.

A wonderful retreat
We had a very comfortable and peaceful stay in The Stables - everything was so thoughtfully done. It's a lovely location right in the heart of Hay - perfect for exploring the town and surrounding countryside. We came away well rested.
Would recommend The Three Tuns pub for good atmosphere and food.
Luxurious Home from Home
As always a wonderful place to return to!
The Stables is a lovely retreat, and the bedroom sumptuous and comfortable. Having now visited both your cottages this year, our only dilemma is which do we stay in next time: The Coach House or the Stables!
Our warmest wishes to Séza and Michael, and we will return very soon..
Relaxing, Laid back, chic and fun
Beautiful, well-equipped cottage made our stay very enjoyable.
The gardens are a joy, we always seemed to spot something new every time we went out.
The area is perfect for a relaxing break.
We will certainly return.

An amazing Place - Such a Great Find
My wife and I came to stay in the Hideaways In Hay Stables for the weekend for our wedding anniversary.
I have to say it is probably the nicest cottage we have ever stayed in. We have travelled all across the world and have found that this is one of the best places we've stayed.
It's perfect if you want to get away for a few days, cut yourself off from reality, and just enjoy yourself in the countryside.
Hay-on-Wye is a wonderful place, our hosts were marvelous and I couldn't recommend it enough. So if you are looking for something nice and exclusive but which still keeps the quaint side, then come to the Hideaways In Hay - a wonderful place.
We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful and relaxing place to celebrate our anniversary!! Everything at The Stables was perfect, the bed so comfortable!!!
Thank you for making us so welcome.
A proper little hide-away
We had a lovely stay at the Medieval Stables this summer. While the accomodation was a little hard to find in the one-way streets of Hay, the cosy retreat that awaited us made it worthwhile. We enjoyed the little touches like a welcome bottle of wine and settle-in items such as tea-bags. The place felt very clean, well equipped and had luxuary touches such as a great shower and bath-robes. Parking was safe and we loved the central setting.
We had a wonderful relaxing stay at Hideaways.
It took us a while to find, but once the double doors opened there was a lovely cobbled court yard with secure parking at the end.
The Stables had been beautifully converted giving it real character and charm.
As it was Easter chocolate eggs accompanied a complimentary bottle of wine,
small touches which made it extra special.
Although there is only one bedroom the settee in the sitting room area converts into a bed and was very easy to get out and put away and was actually quite comfortable.
The location is superb - just a few minutes to the shops, restaurants and walks by the river,
yet it is really quiet and peaceful.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this Hideaway.
Superb - and then some !
What a lovely spot to recharge the batteries.
The Stables is a tranquil and charming retreat, with everything you could need at hand.
We have so enjoyed our stay, and hope to visit again soon.
We had a great holiday in Hay, all the little extras you provided made it special and we will pass on your details to family and friends so you may have some more visitors from Scotland.
