Stockholm, Swe´denSwagat at Kruger Park Lodge – a great experience!
Left on 05/30/2013 for a stay in May 2013
We had the privilege to spend some days at Swagat beginning May and we were simply enchanted by the environment and by the lodge itself. We were especially charmed by the impala walking about freely all over the lodge area, and the loudly snorting hippos in the hippo pool added to the 'wild' atmosphere.
The house is fully equipped, most convenient and a great place to relax after a day in the Kruger National Park or touring the beautiful Panorama Route. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner by the swimming pool area, if you do not prefer self-catering (Swagat's outdoor barbecue worked excellently for us carnivore humans...). On the whole, excellent service by the Kruger Park Lodge management! The Sabi Sand private game reserve night safari was a fantastic experience - and so convenient since the tour company picks you up at the lodge reception!

Left on 05/06/2013 for a stay in April 2013
Loved the house; comfortable, clean and well organised with lovely veranda/balcony with braai. Overlooking the golf greens with impalas and close to the hippo pool. Location is perfect, close to Kruger Park and other attractions in the area (e.g. rafting, zip line, Panorama route). Would definitely recommend it!

JohannesburgSwagat- comfortable, spacious, convenient and good value
Left on 04/30/2013 for a stay in April 2013
We recently spent 3 nights at Swagat. The lodge was comfortable, spacious and good value for money. We were 6 adults and a 2 yr old child. The lodge is conveniently located in Hazyview close to a shopping centre with a supermarket and pharmacy. The units are cleaned daily. Swagat is close to the Kruger Park as well as many attractions in the area and is an ideal base to explore the area. The Kruger Park Lodge is well equipped with sporting and entertainment facilities to keep everyone happy. I would recommend Swagat for a self catering holiday in Hazyview.

JohannesburgAmazing stay at the Kruger Park Lodge
Left on 04/24/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We received excellent and prompt service from the owner, Heeten who was available whenever we called or emailed him. The lodge was well furnished and had everything you could possibly need. I was impressed that there was a dishwasher...what a bonus? Who wants to do dishes on their holiday?...It really was a home away from home. The lodge is centrally located and close to a shopping mall. So whether you need some extras(food, drink, etc) or you forgot your bathing costume or need sunblock, you can find all this and more at the shopping mall located 1km away from the lodge. How convenient is that? There are restaurants and other shops all very close to the lodge. The lodge itself makes a mean daiquirie if you are interested and much much more. This was an amazing holiday where we could relax when we wanted to and we could go to the famous Kruger National Park with the closest gate about 20 min away, whenever we wanted to. We saw lions, elephants, rhinos, buffalo, and different buck and bird species. Amazing!!! Whether you are a group of friends or a family, this lodge will meet all your needs. Can't wait to go back...

We throughly enjoyed our stay at Swagat. It was situated in a quiet part of the Kruger Park Lodge. The lodge was very spacious and would make a great place to stay for Christmas as there is plenty of room for the family as well as a well equipped kitchen. Heeten was very helpful when it came to our booking before and after our stay. Thanks for the wonderful hospitality. We can't wait for our next trip!

Left on 03/28/2013 for a stay in January 2013
We spent the two first weeks of January 2013 at Kruger Park Lodge and had a wounderful stay. The Lodge is situated in the middle of many sites to visit and the facilities with pools, golf, resturant and wildlife made our stay with children easy. We all loved it.
The service that we had at the lodge work out fine. The house was cleaned every day and everything that needed to be tended to was served within hours. Bookings that we needed, was taken care of by the reception and everything worked out fine.
We can really recommend staying at Kruger Park Lodge with the facilities on site, all the places to visit in the sorroundings with the mountains and Kruger Park as our favorites.

JohannesburgAwesome accommodation
Left on 02/17/2013 for a stay in December 2012
Awesome accommodation is explained as:
Very comfortable house with air cons in all rooms ( if you need them... I like the heat)
Large patio and braai area, great for small kids to run around on.
Well manicured estate, very safe, nice walks, a lovely environment.
Very close to Kruger ! 12km
Next to Hazyview, which has become a decent town, with some nice spots to shop and eat in.
The house is at the edge of the estate, so it's quite, and you don't have neighbours close by! Also there is a super swimming pool only 2 minutes walk away, that's not used much.
I will return, the location, environment ( estate) and house are all excellent.
This place has it all... -

Bristol, RIGreat stay at Swagat at Kruger Park Lodge
Left on 12/30/2012 for a stay in November 2012
I am a travel agent so I have travelled and stayed at many resorts. bed and breakfast, home stays etc I have to say that our stay at Swagat at Kruger Park Lodge was amazing. What a beautiful place. Comfortable, very big and spacious. It was set in a very peaceful area. Very clean and we had everything we needed. If you are going for a week or want to stay for a few nights before or after you commute to Kruger from JNB, it is a great option. It worked at very well for us as we had flown from Cape Town to JNB, rented a car and drove ourselves to Kruger. We stayed here before entering the park where then we stayed in the parks. It was so nice to be able to unwind and relax before heading to Kruger. There was a laundry facility near by which we used. Although this is a big house with a nice big kitchen, we did choose to get food at the resteraunt at Kruger Lodge. The Villa was so nice though , we didn't want to leave it, so we went and ordered the dinner to go and brought it back to the villa and enjoyed a nice meal in our jammies. The resteraunt was very accomodating wrapping everything up and we had all we needed in the villa to sit around the nice dining room table and enjoy a quiet family dinner. We were able to then relax in the living room with our maps and plan out our self drive safari. The grocery was very easy to get to, right up the road. Kruger Gate was only like 15 minutes if not less. Heeten, the owner, was amazing. He will help you with your trip plans and is an excellent source of information. But what I liked most is he is very passionate about his villa, South africa and all that the area has to offer. He obviously takes pride in his place and the area.

Us family of 6 adults spent 4 days-3 nights at this villa in Krueger park Lodge. Accomodaations were perfect for our family holiday to Krueger National Park. Facilites were modern, immaculate, and just 15 minutes from the Phibini Gate. Our villa was on the golf course where wildlife (impala) were seen each day. Owner was exceptionally accomodative and our family highly recommends this rental. We have stayed in many in the us but never stayed in any better.

The lodge was beautiful, spacious and clean. We had a lovely stay at the lodge with excellent service from the people working at the lodge and from Heeten. It was just a 15 min drive from the Kruger national park. We loved the fact that it was close to everything and that there was some wild live in the resort itself.

Left on 09/08/2012 for a stay in July 2012
Kruger Park Lodge was a little treasure on our trip to South africa-it had the warmth of the country with its cozy yet impressive aesthetics while having all the comforts of home. Kitchen was beautiful although we did not use it very much. Location was within a few minutes of the game park, the golf courses were right outside your doorstep and the staff incredibly kind and helpful. The only thing I can say was a little uncomfortable was the living room was incredibly cold (but that might have just been bc we couldn't find the thermostat :) I'm a big stroller and love to explore my surroundings-morning walks were so calm and serene. It was beautiful to just be able to take in all the sounds of nature while having the option of following paths or rough-in-it through the vegetation. Came across a few baboons on my walks which made it all the better! All and all it was a fantastic place to stay-large enough for family use-there was about 7 of us comfortably living there. Incredibly safe, I always felt very relaxed and safe. Quiet enough for a getaway and all around beautiful, easily accessed place to stay! Highly recommended!

We arrived at the house in the dark and were pleasantly surprised when we turned the lights on. It was the perfect accomodation after a long day in Kruger National Park. We immediately cooked dinner and found the kitchen to be well equipped. The beds were really comfortable and it was nice to have 3 full baths for our group. We stayed 3 nights here and there was so much to do in and around Kruger Park Lodge we could have stayed longer. The grocery store is very close. We also played miniature golf and jumped on the trampolines. While we toured the Panorama route one day we had Kruger do our laundry for us and had our car cleaned. I loved these services. We felt very safe while staying here. I would recommend visiting Sabie Valley Coffee, the zip line at The Big Swing, driving the Panorama Route and Pilgrims Rest. If we lived closer I would visit again next year.

We had a great stay with our family! It was a perfect place to relax in the evenings while visiting Kruger and the surrounding areas. We didn't even have enough time to enjoy all the Lodge had to offer. Heeten and Jenny gave great advice for planning our trip as well.

Left on 07/05/2012 for a stay in April 2012
We weren't planning to stay here but glad we did to pamper ourselves on our last night in the area. One of the owners is a colleague of mine and mentioned that she owned this home outside the park. We planned to stay in the camps all nights but changed our mind for the last one. The camps are fun but can be cramped with 4 adults and 2 kids.
The house is beautiful and spacious compared to amenities in the park. The Kruger Park Lodge property is luxurious, quiet, and very secure with a gated entrance. Impala roam the property. We didn't stay long enough to enjoy all the amenities available to guests but they were tempting. The interior of the home was nicely decorated and comfortable and we understand they have since upgraded to new furniture.
Jenny and Heeten are a wealth of information on the park and area and gave us good advice on seeing the wildlife. We ate at Pioneer's Butcher and Grill - a steak place amongst their recommendations, and it was one of the best meals we had. The following day we drove part of the Panoramic Route before heading back toward Pretoria. It was a totally different world/landscape compared to the park (waterfalls, lush forest, rolling hills) and was a great way to end our trip. Swagat gave us the best of both worlds and room to stretch out in comfort and luxury.

We recently stayed at the chalet and had a great time! The resort and chalet is perfect for families and our kids had a ball, they loved being so close to the hippo hide and hearing them "grunt" in the evening as well as the close proximity of the pool ( a quick walk there, private and not as crowded as the main pool). The view of the stunning african sunset from the chalet was amazing and and look forward to our next visit there!
