MinneapolisRelax and relive each day's adventures while taking in a sunset
Left on 11/19/2012 for a stay in September 2012
My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed a long weekend at the farmhouse as our home base while exploring alexander and Dry Creek Valleys. We found the farmhouse to be the perfect location from which to explore the areas and wineries we wanted to visit, while also being the perfect place to come "home" to and revisit each adventure while enjoying some wine, beautiful sunsets, and the best Healdsburg has to offer.
We loved being close to downtown Healdsburg and all of the wonderful restaurants it is home to, as well as being a short drive to some of the northern Sonoma's best wineries.
The farmhouse was clean, well appointed and comfortable. We enjoyed soaking in the outdoor hot tub, as well as taking in the sunsets and beautiful views of the vineyard from the front and back yard of the farmhouse. It really did feel like a home away from home.
If your travels are taking you to Healdsburg, I highly recommend the Healdsburg Farmhouse as your home base during your vacation. The wineries, their gardens and grounds were beautiful, but it's tough to beat the surroundings of the farmhouse in terms of views and comfort. -

Left on 08/14/2012 for a stay in July 2012
Setting and cottage were fantastic. Cottage was small, but very charming and included everything one needs for a quiet and comfortable stay. Kitchenette, bed and sitting area were perfect. Outdoor setting was very attractive with a porch overlooking well kept garden. I would recommend it with confidence.

bostonAmazing trip to wine country!
Left on 07/10/2012 for a stay in June 2012
I stayed here in June with my family (parents & brother) and fiance. We have been to wine country a few times before and have stayed in Healdsburg, Napa, and Sonoma. This was by far one of our favorite stays. The location is perfect; close to the Healdsburg town square, vineyards, and Russian River. The property is immaculate with beautiful gardens and views of a vineyard below. There was a massive deck and we grilled out many nights eating under the pergola. Everything was well laid out in the home even a picnic backpack that came in very helpful during our packed lunches at the wineries. It seemed like the owners thought of everything. I would highly recommend this property and we look forward to hopefully staying there again in the future!!

A business colleague and I stayed at the Farmhouse in april. It is a beautiful spot, quiet, private and very well accommodated. Staying here was less expensive than two hotel rooms and we had the convenience of the yard, kitchen and living space. It would make a nice place to stay for two couples. We enjoyed a wine tour during the day and were happy to get back to the house to prepare our own meal and relax in the hot tub. I highly recommend the place.

Walnut CreekOne of the Best Rentals Ever!
Left on 05/10/2012 for a stay in April 2012
We have stayed in the main cottage (2 bedroom) and Farmhouse (2 bedroom) several times now and will tell you that this is one of the most beautiful places you'll ever stay! Last couple of years we spent in the Farmhouse, located at the edge of a vineyard, with full kitchen, two baths/bedrooms, BBQ table outside, hot tub, etc, etc...it's literally a house with all the amentities and capable of hosting a good size dinner party. A three minute drive to Healdsburg and Bear Republic Brewery and wineries... Property is immaculate and hosts are wonderful! If you're on the fence between another place and this, pick this one.. It's truly a no-brainer!

Los AngelesPerfect Romantic Getaway
Left on 05/10/2012 for a stay in April 2012
The charming cottage at Healdsburg Country Gardens is perfect for a romantic getaway in Sonoma. There are three separate rental properties on the property, which hosts weddings during the summer and features nice gardens and vineyard views. The one-room cottage is wonderful for two adults. There's a queen bed, gas fireplace (gets toasty fast, so beware!), dining table for two, and a kitchenette with a small fridge, microwave, and toaster. Cabin interior is a little dark and dated with all-wood walls and ceiling, but the setting and location couldn't be more idealistic. There are lots of windows for the sun to stream in. The bathroom is teeny-tiny with only a stand-up shower stall, but we were not looking for a luxury hotel. We wanted charming character located close to Healdsburg's main square with easy access to all the wineries and restaurants, and we found it. We can't wait to revisit Sonoma and when we do, we look forward to once again staying at the Healdsburg Country Gardens cottage.

Left on 05/09/2012 for a stay in April 2012
Our sweet two-person cottage with a knotty pine interior was perfect for our visit to Healdsburg. We had breakfast sitting at a table on our private deck watching butterflies and birds. We enjoyed strolling the garden of the beautifully landscaped complex and would've strolled through the property's vineyard had we had more time. Having lived in Healdsburg in the 1970s I wanted to soak up its beautiful wooded setting near the Russian River, and our rented cottage was the perfect place to experience it all over again. It was only a quick five-minute drive to get to the restaurants of downtown Healdsburg.

We really enjoyed the cottage. It had everything we needed and nothing we didn't. We cooked dinner one night on the deck and enjoyed walking around the vineyard. The location is very good, very close to town but a bit removed. The owners were very easy to deal with.

central FLCountry cottage - small, but doable
Left on 04/27/2012 for a stay in April 2012
My wife and I spent 3 nights in the cottage on this property. The cottage is very small. Smaller than many hotel rooms. The bathroom is smaller than any hotel room's. The sink was dollhouse sized. The shower was minimal and the shower head was at chin height. But it was clean and had a nice gas fireplace that in the cool mornings was nice. Along that line, an air conditioner would be nice. By the last day/evening we were here it had gotten warm. I would not stay here any later than april. There was a microwave and toaster and coffee maker, and an adequate TV.
Another significant part of our stay was a smell that most resembled cat urine. It was strongest outside this cottage, but distinctly inside as well. We had to get a candle to try to mask it. There was a cat around the property, who perhaps lived under the house.
Another problem we had was the lack of ability to connect to the Internet. There was a wireless router somewhere on the property, but the caretakers (the property owners were not there) were unable to provide access to it, even after supposedly talking to "the computer guru" who couldn't provide the key. Not the password...we had that.
The caretakers were an odd pair, who seemed to want to avoid contact if they saw us. We actually spent little time on the property, though did take a nice hike through the small vineyard.
The other 2 rentals on this property were normal sized houses, though we were not inside either one. I would recommend these if I were to stay on this nice property again. -

Left on 12/05/2011 for a stay in November 2011
I loved this cottage. Spent 2 nights in this cottage which feels out of the way but is close to everything. The cottage has everything you could want including an easy switch fire place that heats the room nicely, kitchen and comfortable bed. My only complaint would be that is has a small shower but that was easily overlooked.

Los AngelesPerfect Family Getaway
Left on 12/05/2011 for a stay in November 2011
We stayed at the Farmhouse in Nov 2011 and loved it. The house was laid out very well with an open floor plan and large living room area on the first floor. And two big bedrooms upstairs (and a foldout futon on the first floor as well). Perfect for a small family or two couples.
The living room looks out over a few acres of vineyards, so it really makes you feel like you're in quintessential wine country. With that view, you feel like you're taking advantage of being in wine country without even leaving the house!
It was a bit chilly to enjoy the outside areas, but there is a nice patio area with a large table and chairs as well as a hot tub. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans and utensils. We even cooked a turkey dinner while we were there.
Location was great as it's a very short drive or slightly longer walk into the center of Healdsburg. It's easy to pop over to Safeway for groceries and there are plenty of great restaurants very nearby.
Barbara and Walt were very accommodating and helpful with everything. Highly recommend this lovely home.

A group of friends who do the Healdsburg Half Marathon each year rented the Healdsburg Farmhouse for the weekend. The home and experience exceeded our expectations. The owners had added so many comfortable amenities to the home - it was comfortable, welcoming and homey. Barbara, the owner, was gracious and made us feel comfortable and welcome the entire weekend.

I can not express enough how absolutely perfect our weekend was at your beautiful home! We were a party of 6 girls who came to Healdsburg for the Half Marathon in October. Just pulling into the driveway was breathtaking as we could see the gorgeous vineyards forever. Equally impressive was the view from the inside of the home. The home had everything we could ask for. We were able to shop at the Vons just down the street and cook a wonderful dinner the night before the race and relaxed in the hot tub the night after the race. We loved the wonderful gesture of the bottle of wine left in the refrigerator by the owners. We loved it. We will be back next year and have already reserved our stay. I promise you will not be disappointed in this wonderful home.

Fort Worth, TXGorgeous setting for our 10 year anniversary
Left on 06/29/2011 for a stay in June 2011
There were four of us who stayed here to celebrate our 10 year anniversary in Healdsburg and wine country. I originally wanted two rooms at a B and B, but my brother-in-law found this. It is the perfect place to stay when you have two couples or even a group of 6; as there is a futon in living room. The setting is gorgeous. The farmhouse is in the middle of the Gruber's vineyard. We had total privacy. It is not an updated, modern house; it's a rustic country style place, which we wanted. Lots of amenities and a very short drive to Healdsburg. My husband and I are still talking about how magical our stay was. We would not stay anywhere else in healdsburg. Thanks Barbara and Walt

Very private, very clean, very cozy and lots of thoughtful touches. One room cottage is in a garden with a view of the vineyard. Wrap around porch and deck with gas grill. Close to town, and very lovely place for a quiet dinner "at home" with good wine (and no driving). We were on a two-week road trip in northern Ca, and this was definitely the best accommodation (though not the priciest).

Left on 02/21/2010 for a stay in January 2010
We rented the farm house for a family reunion to celebrate our parent's 50th wedding anniversary. It's very spacious, so we weren't in each other's face all the time. Our children enjoyed being in the country with lots of room outside to play. We also loved the big, private patio and the hot tub. We cooked some meals in but also ate out in the quaint, nearby town of Healdsburg. We did some wine tasting nearby with excellent recommendations from the owners, Barb & Walt. Would go back there anytime as it was a very enjoyable stay in a well-maintained house.
