Description from the manager

Heaven at the Redwoods is a truely serene setting that is a wonderful and special retreat in Sonoma County Wine Country. From the moment you drive through the gate and onto the property your senses become visually pleasured with an acre of green grass from the home to creek. The colors, sounds and smalls around you begin to fill your up with redwood, flowing water and emerald green before you. There is literally an acre of professional and natural landscaping that includes a carpet of grass, rose gardens, gazebo and meditation area, decks both at the home and at the creek, and flowers and shrubs throughout. Lots of chairs, lawn swing, hot tub...Read more

      Great Location

Left on 10/20/2009 for a stay in October 2009

We have stayed at the house four times now and it is the best house to rent in the wine country. It is close to Alexander Valley wineries, Healdsburg, the Jimtown Store and the Dry Creek Valley. Beautiful views of quiet vineyards. The house itself is well appointed and the kitchen has everything needed for complete meal preparation including a decent backyard grill. The hot tub is a nice feature after a long day of bike riding. Early in the morning there can be some traffic noise on the road in front of the house, Highway 128.

      Jimtown House was great

Left on 08/17/2009 for a stay in August 2009

We had a wonderful stay at Jimtown House. It is centrally located and close to everything. We loved the art deco furnishings. The kitchen was great as well as the living area with recliners.
Suggestions: all the doors have hinges on the outside which we consider dangerous. The bathtubs are very slippery. The front bedroom gets too much light and noise.

In spite of those, we plan on returning

I am always pleased to hear when our guests have wonderful experiences...and of course we like to also know the cons as well and we definitely appreciate any comments or suggestions. We never take our guests for granted. But I have to comment In regards to the hinges - these are dutch hinges and they are very secure. The pins are inside the doors, not outside as stated in the review. We look forward to your next stay and hoping to hear back from you soon! Thank you so much for your business and consideration. Girls weekend

Left on 08/05/2009 for a stay in August 2009

The Jimtown House was the perfect house for our college girls trip! We enjoyed the Jimtown Store next door and of course, the beautiful wineries in Healdsburg. We loved the decor and fun colors in the Jimtown house. It was a very memorable weekend and we hope to return again next year!

      It was great!!!!

Left on 06/18/2009 for a stay in June 2009

We had a wonderful time and the house was more than we possibly could have hoped for. We were in town for my daughter's wedding and have the Jimtown house was a great place get away from the main going on's. The hot tub was especially nice in the evening when we were unwinding.

Will definantly consider staying there again.

      Great family retreat

Left on 04/06/2009 for a stay in March 2009

It's a really nicely put together home, and very smartly laid out for a
vacation rental. The living/dining area is huge, and overall it's a
very relaxed and comfortable atmostphere. I enjoyed walking to the
jimtown store in the morning for breakfast treats-- delicious--
and yummy coffee. The beds are remarkably comfortable, and
there's a good outlay of basic supplies-- laundry detergent, olive
oil, etc. The yard is small-- I had imagined some bocce or croquet
going on, but that wasn't going to happen. There is no wifi, which
can be a blessing-- a real vacation ensued-- but when we needed
to go online, we had to go elsewhere. It is rural, though not in
isolation-- a church on one side and a poultry feed store on the
other. Overall, I'd highly recommend this place, especially for
people with youung kids. We brought our 3 year old, and since it is
fenced and very flat, felt safe when she was running around. It's
also much prettier than the photos. Also, the bedrooms were
generally equal which is always a plus when renting a home with
other folks. It's perfectly positioned for trips into both napa and
sonoma, as well as further north, to Mendocino.
