Fabulous weekend in a fabulous house!!!

Left on 04/23/2013 for a stay in April 2013

A group of 10 of us stayed here in april (all girls) and we had an amazing weekend!!! Mr Coupe (the owner) was great and gave us excellent directions to the property. The house has so much character and is equipped with everything you could possibly need; spare wellies, musical instruments, umbrellas, CDs, books - could go on and on! The gardens are beautiful with amazing views and Harry the horse next door greeting you on a morning.

The kitchen has a dishwasher, washing machine, every pot, pan, item of cutlery you could possibly need and the large cooker/oven was perfect for cooking for 10! Lounge was lovely and cosy with a wooden burner which we did find a bit difficult to keep going but it was warm enough without it. Bedrooms were fantastic and enough bathroom facilities for 10 girls to get ready :0) Big thank you also to Suzie from next door who welcomed us and gave us some history on the area!

I would recommend that you take some extra toilet rolls - you know what it's like when a bunch of women are drinking!!! I have two tiny criticisms (which seem a little petty really) but we were all in agreement that the kitchen could do with a bigger toaster. Making toast on a morning for 10 people was a little cumbersome with a two-slice toaster. And lastly, if Mr or Mrs Coupe could possibly find another chair to match the furniture in the lounge that would be perfect as one of us was always sat on the rug.

Without doubt we would stay here again and hope to book again for our girlie weekend next year!! It's a beautiful old property with fabulous views of Stoodley Pike Monument! I would recommend this place to anyone :0)

Huge place...perfect for family gatherings or large group venues

Left on 11/10/2012 for a stay in November 2012

I booked this house for my mothers birthday for a long weekend. There were 11 of us and it was perfect for our needs, a family get together in the hills.
The property is very old, stone and has great views from the dining room window at the back and great views of Stoodley Pike from the front. There is parking at the front of the property for 4/5 cars.
There are 5 bedrooms, only two of the beds are double, both have en suites. The selling points for us was the huge living room with a wood burning stove and a fabulous big dining room with a piano!!! it was great for playing games around and long leisurely meals and after dinner conversationsT.here is a games room for kids too which is great..
We ate a lovely Sunday lunch at Stubbings Wharf, a pub on the canal. There are loads of places to visit, Hebden,Heptonstall, Todmorden, Skipton and Haworth, all only a stones throw away.
I would highly recommend Higher Stoodley Farm. There is a great central heating system so we were never cold.
The house is well equipped especially in the kitchen. It is perfect for large group get togethers...it really is huge, plenty of space. Could do with a few more towels...there were no toilet rolls or dish clothes when we arrived which would seem to be an oversight as there were plenty of other items.

excellent stay at a well stocked, picturesque cottage/ mansion!!

Left on 11/07/2011 for a stay in November 2011

we stayed as 5 couples with 1 young child,1 toddler and 3 small babies and it was perfect for my husbands 30th birthday. we made a meal in the well stocked kitchen and really appreciated all the pots and pans available and the thoughtful touch of leaving ice, milk, washing tablets, toilet rolls and other essentials.we sat by the fire, played games from the games room, tried our hands at the instruments provided and watched dvds over a 3 night weekend. the owner was really helpful when he rang to check our plans a few days before our stay and we felt that all the information provided at the cottage was really beneficial to our stay. this cottage really suited us as we had so many babies and the walls were very thick so they wernt waking each other up in the night. the children enjoyed stroking the horses and we enjoyed the fireworks display at hebdon bridge. everyone in our party repeatedly mentioned that they would want to stay again and would reccommend to others and it has inspired us all to go away together again. thank you higher stoodley farm!!

Left on 01/04/2011 for a stay in November 2010

Great cottage for a group holiday. Warm comfortable, log fire was a real draw. Kitchen was very well equipped and contained everything you could wish for.
Probably could do with a few more towels provided - you know us girls.
