Description from the owner
Tremorna is an ancient but very cosy cottage perched above Helford Creek, with lovely views from almost every room down the Helford estuary. Although it sits in the centre of the village, yards from the wonderful shop and traditional waterside pub, it has its own a secret terraced garden with its own quay and summer house, accessible by boat at high tide. This is your own secret spot to watch the ever-changing panorama of the river estuary, and the boats coming and going in the creek below. Additional Location Information
Tremorna is located on the banks of the Helford River, one of south Cornwall's most magical and unspoiled tidal estuaries. It was immortalized by Daphne Du Maurier in her novel Frenchman's Creek (which is just 15 minutes walk from the cottage) and is a wonderful location for sailing, boating, walking, swimming and general outdoor relaxation.
The Helford River is one of the richest and most diverse marine habitats in the whole of Europe and a heaven for birdwatchers, fishermen and nature lovers.
The famous sub-tropical gardens of Trebah and Glendurgan are a short ferry ride away, and sand and shingle beaches, woods and cliffs are minutes away by footpath or boat. The whole of the glorious Lizard peninsula lies within about 20 minutes' car journey. There are dozens of wild walks by the sea, in woods or on cliffs near by.
Cornwall also offers an exciting new wave of restaurants and gastro pubs, using locally sourced ingredients to offer wonderful dining for the discerning.
If you love wild places, being close to sea, a vacation with a sense of tranquility and timeless nature, along with the comforts of an old and very cosy cottage, Tremorna is for you.
