A beautiful Grade II listed farmhouse with panoramic views, in the hamlet of Helton, which sleeps up to nine people over three bedrooms. Beautifully restored, well-equipped and full of character, this 350-year old detached farmhouse lies in the small hamlet of Helton, and offers wonderful views across the countryside to Knipe Scar. A rustic feel makes this cottage an instant ‘home from home’, and the spacious rooms offer very comfortable, welcoming accommodation. The farmhouse kitchen has an Aga cooker and stone-flagged floor, while in the living room guests can relax in front of the open fire or on one of the window seats. Outsi...de, a large, landscaped mature garden makes a great spot for an evening meal. Walkers will love the direct fell access from the doorstep, while Ullswater lake can be reached by a beautiful three-mile walk directly from the property.

Town: A few miles from lovely Ullswater in north-east Lakeland, the hamlet of Helton is a great spot for enjoying the peace and stunning scenery of the area. The pretty village of Askham is a mile away, with whitewashed cottages, views over the River Lowther, two village greens and two pubs. There is plenty of excellent walking to suit all abilities, as well as cycling and climbing. The town of Keswick is a popular holiday destination, and offers a plethora of shops and restaurants for all tastes. Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday. "Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.

  We spent a magical few days at Fellgate Farm (despie the rain!) :-) As a group of professional photographers, we were in heaven - from the lovely house, complete with aga; to the absolutely stunning gardens, photos galore were taken! I would wholeheartedly recommend this property to anyone. It is so tastefully done, brilliantly catered for in the kitchen and the perfect base for lots of walking. Absolutely brilliant.

  I went for a week with friends to celebrate 2 birthdays - my own and another girl who came along. The house is so welcoming with quirky features found dotted around. The kitchen is just wonderful and we spent a lot of our time there! There are some lovely walks surrounding the house that we explored a few times. Most things were within driving distance but I wouldn't recommend going if you don't have anyone that can drive and you plan to discover other villages!

  cosy comfort with surprises

  My parents arrived first and were so excited by the property they showed us around like owners. I say showed us around, the kids went first as there are more hidey holes and secret snickets than are right in this size house. We can't fault it...especially our first experience at aGa cooking. My husbands a chef and we just loved the huge family kitchen. With the huge log fire for my Dad and the hide and seek possibilities for the kids Mum and I just sat with our feet up here or in the local drinking their scrumpy.
