Description from the owner
This luxury villa is located 6km East of the renowned whale watching town Hermanus. Situated on a private estate in between mountains and a lagoon, the property gives the feeling of water and life flowing down the mountains, through the gardens and into the house.
The Water House is perfectly suited to a large family and was originally designed and built as a home rather than a property for rental; personality and character shines through the architecture of the house and in the art that fills it.

Cape TownFabulous for a family reunion

We recently stayed at the Water House for 8 nights, with our extended family including 3 small children. The house is decorated so elegantly and the rooms are all so spacious and we loved the views and the tranquility. Every detail is taken care of, from the amazing chef's kitchen to the candles in the dining room, to the gas braai and pizza oven We had big family meals and braais and found cooking a pleasure - the kitchen is huge and very well appointed. The house had everything we needed for our three families to enjoy ourselves. The agents are lovely and so helpful. We will definitely return.

Not too far from Hermanus but far enough to be away from the hustle-and-bustle.
Great setting on lake.
Spacious lovely house.

London, ukThe Waterhouse, a perfect place to relax
Left on 04/09/2012 for a stay in February 2012
We spent a very relaxing week at the water house. It's a truly beautiful and spacious house with wonderful views across the lagoon. The living space is vast with a huge dining table and an open plan kitchen although we spent most of our time cooking, eating and relaxing outside on the terrace. Â The master bedroom is equally spacious and has the best view of the lagoon. The pool is secluded and set in a very sweet little garden.
The house itself is in a great spot just far enough out of hermanus itself to be secluded but also close enough to pop in for food shopping and restaurants. Hermanus is a great base From which to explore the wine lands and cape town.
We'd highly recommend a walk along Grotto beach followed by a drink at duchies watching the sun set and lunch at moggs country cookhouse which has great atmosphere and fantastic food.
Our only complaint was having to leave. Thanks by much for a wonderful holiday.Response from Benjamin Buckley - 05/02/2012

SandtonThe Perfect place to get away from it all!!
Left on 03/21/2012 for a stay in December 2011
We stayed in The Waterhouse for 3 weeks over Christmas and found it to be the perfect getaway.
The house is set half-way between Hermanus and Stanford and so even at the busiest time over Christmas we always enjoyed peace and quiet but could be in town on the beach or in a restaurant within 10 minutes. The house has wonderful views of the Hermanus Lagoon and has a beautiful swimming pool which our children really enjoyed.
The house is beautiful and spacious - there are esentially 3 large en-suite bedrooms - so the house can easily accommodate 3 couples. The other 2 bedrooms share a rather unusual bathroom arrangement which is best suited to children but was adequate. The beds and bedding was all very comfortable and of a high standard.
The living areas were very spacious and well appointed. The kitchen was quite exceptional and we were easily able to cook Christmas lunch for 22 people. I have never stayed in a holiday home with such a well equipped kitchen!
The house is situated in a well managed, secure estate and had ample parking and communal space.Response from Benjamin Buckley - 05/02/2012

This is an exceptionally beautiful and spacious house, stunning design and awesome views. The kitchen is well appointed and the pool a welcome relief on hot days! A short drive from Hermanus and very tranquil. Sleeps 10 no problem.

London, EnglandA Very Special Place
Left on 02/28/2012 for a stay in February 2012
The Water House exceeded our expectations in so many ways. The house itself is glorious, so spacious with simply beautiful art and stunning views across the water from all the main rooms. The house was exceptionally well equipped with an abundance of beautiful dishes and platters, a brai and a gorgeous terrace for breakfasts, lunches and dinners, which were taken under a star filled sky. Flamingoes flew across the water and a friendly peacock came to visit daily! I cannot recommend The Water House too highly, I cannot wait to go back!
