There just aren't enough adjectives to do this review justice. This is a once in a lifetime lovely, relaxing, fun and pleasant place to vacation. Peter and the staff took care of every request starting from the moment of booking this vacation. We were able to provide information about our likes/dislikes as it pertains to comfort, food, drink, privacy or not, activities we like to do, etc before we arrived. Peter also helped us plan our time on both ends of the trip on the island so we could enjoy the Belize mainland. I would recommend doing the same and not missing any moments you have to spend on the island. Take an excursions on the mainland before and/or after your booking dates for the island.
Peter and the staff accommodated every request we had even if it meant going to the mainland to bring something in to meet the request. The other reviews about The Royal Belize are exactly what we experienced too. The up-to-date technology is wonderful. You use connected ipads/itouches for music, communication to the staff and entertainment in every home and the main Palapa. We were even able to connect our ipads to the sound system and we played (with the other couple we came with) name that song/artist. It was great fun.
You will not be let down when you travel to this destination spot I like to call Heaven. Thank you to Peter and staff for bringing a part of Heaven into our lives. -

Our experience at Royal Belize began months prior to our arrival when Peter, the Concierge, sent us a detailed survey asking about our likes and dislikes on everything from food, activities, privacy, etc. It did not end there, he completely helped us with every element of our trip up until the day of our arrival. (Insider Tip, wait to book any flights to the island until you start speaking with Peter because he can assist you with the bookings)
From the moment we stepped foot on the island the service and attention to detail was impeccable. We've never been anywhere that cared so much about our desires every moment of every day. The food and drinks were 5 stars and completely tailored to our preferences.
The island takes privacy extremely seriously and will ask you ahead of time about the level of seclusion you desire. They use current technology (iMessage) to help you communicate to the Concierge whenever there is something you need. We found this to be extremely convenient.
Overall this was a trip of a lifetime and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a private vacation that will provide you with a lifetime of memories!!

We had the pleasure of spending part of our honeymoon at Royal Belize. Words cannot describe it; pictures do not do it justice... It truly was perfection!
The entire experience was so much more than our highest expectations (and you had better believe they were high to begin with when you're spending that kind of money on a vacation). The food was wonderful, the service went above and beyond, the water was crystal clear and blue as the sky, the scuba diving nearby was fabulous, and most importantly the unbelievable peace and serenity of the resort.
We are looking forward to the day when we are able to go back. Royal Belize truly is the best!!

I now know what the rich and famous might be experiencing at their private island destinations! The truth is that one does not need to be a celebrity to be treated like one by the staff at Royal Belize.
There were absolutely no detail that were not attended to from the onset.
Prior to our arrival, Peter reached out to us to find out about our life style, our likes and dislikes, our dietary requirements, interests, etc.
The entire staff exceeded our expectations; even the pooch on the island was a great and a lovable pet that was keeping us entertained.
The staff arranged for all sorts of activities for us. They helped us with diving, water skiing, and even set up a badminton set for us. We bird watched, jet skied, canoed, and just plain relaxed. We gazed at sunsets and the majestic surrounding while eating the most scrumptious meals.
We are already thinking of going back with family members and intend to introduce them to this part of paradise and visit with Peter and Staff.
I highly recommend Royal Belize!

The service experience began even before we arrived at the island. Through the exchange of just a few e-mails our concierge was able to arrange not only to have the food and beverage we desired but had arranged transportation including a Zip line and tubing tour. Once on the island the very attentive staff did a remarkable job of ensuring our needs were taken care of while being minimally intrusive providing a great deal of privacy.

32655Hands Down best Vacation ever!
Left on 04/15/2012 for a stay in March 2012
After visiting the private island of the Royal Belize, it's clear why they chose the moniker. You're treated like royalty from the moment your foot hits the pier to the moment you leave this magical place. This private island oasis boasts unparalleled beauty, luxurious privacy, amazing culinary delights, and the highest level of service we've ever
encountered.
My boyfriend and I consider ourselves well-traveled, and this was hands-down the most amazing vacation we've ever taken. The island is absolute paradise. It's clear that it was carefully developed to take advantage of and attract a lot of the Belize's wildlife, while
preserving the natural habitat and charm of a small island only a few acres wide. After our welcome drinks and snacks, we toured the island and were amazed by all of the picture perfect scenes. We could see huge starfish and rays from the various piers and footbridges. There is a beautiful lagoon carved into the center of the island where we
watched pelicans dive for food and schools of fish swim by. As we toured the resort, it felt similar to a lot of high end hotels we've visited and then all of a sudden it hit me, that this paradise is 100% ours for the next few days--a tiny little nugget of earth miles from the
crowds, yet fully stocked with food, a personal staff, and Wi-Fi.
The island is beautifully manicured by an"Invisible" staff, with strict instructions to stay out of sight to further the intimacy and hyper – luxurious seclusion. The meals cooked by our host Peter and the islands personal chef Cori, were five star feasts--a foodie's
dream come true with 3 to 5 courses of varying recipes at each meal as rich and decadent, or light and healthy as you request. Our only complaint was that our stomachs weren't big enough to indulge further.
And if the variety of food wasn't enough, they even varied the location of our meals. Besides the default dining room/cabana, we were treated to a magical evening with a romantic table set up in the gazebo in the middle of the mangroves. We arrived at dinner to find little lanterns hanging from the trees and tiki torches placed amongst
the vines in the lagoon. Again it was so magical and so memorable.
In addition to the heaven on earth seclusion of this place, the real draw here is the exquisite customer service. We've stayed at high-end resorts in the past, but the best customer service cannot compare to the Royal Belize. We were bowled over by the level of attentiveness at meal times and activities. But they also know when to retreat and let
us be--knowing that if we needed anything, we could call them using a paging device. Because you are their only guests, the staff are at your beck and call 24/7, and you really get the feeling that they truly enjoy hosting you.
While the island's seclusion is perfect for a honeymoon or romantic getaway, there are also enough accommodations and activities that you can expand your party to involve additional couples. And the activities on the island range from reading a book on one of several hammocks or beach chairs scattered amongst the gazebos, sundecks, and
docks, to riding around the island on jet skis, or kayaks. Peter was also happy to take us to different snorkeling and dive spots in the area just a 10 to 15 minute boat ride from the island.
There are three different houses on the island all boasting their own unique features. And the house is fully stocked with minibar items and various sundries for you to enjoy throughout your stay.
This isn't a vacation for those who are looking for a wild nightlife or historic sightseeing (though there seems to be plenty of options for this on the mainland). But if you want to live in paradise for a week, reconnect with your mate or family or friends or yourself, all
the while being cared for by a genial host and culinary expert, then this is your vacation of a lifetime. For us, we might just make it an annual event. -

Once you arrive on the island, you step onto paradise. Only you & the staff are on emmaculately kept island. The surroundings are beautiful. The staff respond to all your needs and anticipate your needs before you even know you have a need. The water around the island is crystal clear, great for snorkeling right off the beach. The birds are plentiful & a pleasure to watch. The food & accomodations will exceed your wishes. If you are looking for privacy, quiet & relaxation - this is your place.

The place was truly out of world! Fantastic food and service; Breathtaking scenic beauty; Villa was amazingly designed and furnished, with an eye for detail. The island is truly private as in only one family or group stays on the island at a time. This ensures highly elevated service levels, which is what the Royal Belize seeks to offer; In order to enjoy the island, try not to schedule any day trips into town. We combined our day trip on the last day on the way to the airport.

Upon landing at Dangriga airport I was greeted by the owner, Peter, who drove us to his boat for the trip to the Caye. A short and beautiful 20 minute boatride takes you to this lush and tropical oasis. Set amongst mangroves, clear turquoise waters, towering palm trees, and lush landscaping Royal Belize was more than I could have imagined. The house we stayed in was located on its on private island, a quaint bridge connected the two, and the view was magnificent. The upscale accomodation was fully stocked with everything we could desire. Kayaks are available and a fantastic way to spend a few hours, the bird watching was the best I have seen in Belize. The food was amazing, fresh seafood, plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, and everything was prepared with the utmost of culinary precision. Privacy is paramount and nothing was forgotten. Best vacation I have had.

I stayed at Royal Belize with my husband to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and we were not disappointed. If you're looking for something very special and really different, Peter and his team treat you like real guests. With a private chef, attention to detail and the most beautiful view from each cabana, it was outstanding. We ate fabulous fresh, local food, enjoyed frozen drinks and wine at dinner, and the island has a/c, electricity, internet access (slow, but available) and many special amenities. Our cabana had an outdoor bed...with the sound of waves and smell of honeysuckle. gorgeous. There are many little spots on the island so you don't feel stuck in your house or in the immediate area of your cabana. The big Palapa is decorated with beautiful local furniture and decor. I'm recommending this to all my friends as the new "go to" place.

Overall our stay on the Royal Belize was amazing. It was a paradise that exceeded our expectations. Thank you to the staff of Royal Belize for making this vacation so memorable.
The only tiny mishap was some shirts of one of the girls received stains so they had to be discarded. This by no means has any reflection on our service received on the island. Thank you again Royal Belize. -

My husband and I stayed at Royal Belize for our honeymoon; the service we received from Peter and the staff was first class, and the island itself was like stepping into a dream! We now know what it feels like to be a celebrity! Every meal was catered specifically for our tastes and we were never disappointed. Peter is an excellent chef!
The staff were invisible when we preferred privacy but were always at-hand to help, whether it was to bring the jet ski around to the dock or carry the kayaks to the water. We snorkeled almost every day and found a new discovery each time. The water clarity around the island is amazing--we frequently saw starfish, sea anemones, coral, stingrays, and a huge assortment of tropical fish--even the tiny barracuda that likes to hang around!
We stayed in La Cabana and were very comfortable. The only complaint I would have would be the air conditioner--my husband likes to sleep in an ice box, and considering the system runs off a generator, it was difficult to keep the room near freezing ; )
The worst part? Knowing that every vacation that follows will be a let down in comparison! -

Left on 10/01/2010 for a stay in September 2010
Our stay at the Royal Belize was beyond anything we could have dreamed of! The photos don't do the island justice, it is simply stunning. It is calm, relaxing, a little slice of heaven. We spent most of our days swimming, snorkeling, jet skiing, and relaxing in the hammocks.
The staff is wonderful, always available to help, but quietly behind the scenes. They truly went well above and beyond to make sure we had a perfect honeymoon. They put a lot of love and thought into making sure their guests are happy! The rooms are beautifully decorated and extremely clean. Our fridge was always well stocked with beverages and snacks. The main dining palapa is a fantastic spot for meals and playing games at night. The food was delicious and readily available in huge portions!
We loved the low key nature of this vacation, it was exactly what we needed after hectic wedding planning and a busy wedding itself. If you are looking for a private, quiet vacation, this is the spot. If you like high energy, lots of activities and day trips at your finger tips, I would look at a larger all inclusive resort rather than the Royal Belize. We loved being alone on the island and didn't find ourselves bored for a minute.
We look forward to coming back for many anniversaries to come! -

My wife and I have stayed on Ragged Caye and enjoyed host Peter Luppi's hospitality on several occasions. It is one of the nicest places for a romantic getaway. Peter's attention to detail is second to none, and he is fully committed to making your stay comfortable and memorable. Highly recommended.
We own and operate a yacht charter business here in Belize, and are familiar with the hospitality business. Peter is one of the best in the business. In addition, he is a great dive partner. We have known one another for about eight years, and he is a good friend.

Left on 09/17/2010 for a stay in August 2010
I have stayed here before, and for sure Peter still goes over every detail to ensure a customized experience for my wife and I.
The food as always, was great as was his service;
You really get all the privacy imaginable, but a soon as you need something, it is right there for you.
This is not a place to go for nightlife and partying, but for relaxation (dare I say romance), at its best.
Even expensive places like KO Espanto can not compete witht the absolute privacy you get here nd are very much more expensive.
The Island is nice but I wish there were more flowers and tropical plants. The houses are actually nicer than they appear on their website and their new furnishings since I last visited are absolutely beautiful.
I think this place is great for couples or small groups of friends, but maybe not so great for large groups becuse it defetes the purpose of a quiet private island.
The bottom line?
Everything is defenitly as adverstised or better and this fellow, "Peter," really cares and works hard to make sure all is supurb.
It is a bit pricey, but then again, heck, it's an entire island with a 1/2 dozen staff at your beck ad call.
Response from Peter, your concierge. - 09/19/2010

We deeply regret that our landscaping was below par for this guest's stay. Regrettably we had several days of strong winds prior to his arrival which, along with the salt spray from the waves, damaged a lot of the more sensitive decorative flowering plants and they had to be pruned considerably. We have since replenished the flowering plants, which include dozens of hibiscus, jasmine, bougainvillaea, and others. Again, our deepest and sincerest regrets, and of course our deepest appreciation for the praise received.
