Titusville, FloridaBeautiful bed and breakfast, very clean and great inn keepers ma

The surrounding beauty of the area and cool temps for us Floridians make this a great place to be. Chris and Donna know the area and willingly share their knowledge. There is plenty to do in the way of walks, hiking, drives or just sitting on the porch enjoying the view (and some of Donna's treats). Not a place for children, but then most bed and breakfasts aren't. The little apartment is well equipped and nice for those who want to be on their own but still enjoy the amenities of the inn. Breakfasts are delicious! We have no bests because everything was a "best". There are no least likes!

The Guest House at Colonial Pines Inn was just what we were looking for! We have a 5 year old and a 10 month old and prefer to stay in apartments/suites when we travel. We found the Inn Keepers very welcoming and inviting. Donna took plenty of time with me on the phone to discuss the lodging offered at the Inn. The guest house has a small kitchen (microwave, oven, coffee pot, refrigerator, etc), 1 bathroom, a small sitting area and 2 bedrooms (1 Queen bed and 2 twins in the other room). We found the Guest House very clean and well appointed! The decor was nicely done and suited to the area. The beds were very comfortable and we had much more room to spread out than we would have had in a hotel.
Breakfast is not included, but this can be arranged for a fee. I have since had the opportunity to stay for a quick couple of nights traveling alone and I must say the breakfast was superb! She offers a great variety and plenty of food. You should make a point to sit down at their table for breakfast!
The Inn is located about 5 blocks from downtown Highlands, a nice walk for adults or older kids, might be too much for younger ones...there is a steep hill to climb to arrive at the Inn. They have a beautiful property with a great porch to sit and relax or bird watch. Plenty of yard for a picnic or for the kids to run and play.
The Inn Keepers are very nice and knowledgable about the area. They are happy to provide restaurant recommendations, etc. I was there on business, so no time to take in all that the NC mountains have to offer. They are a great resource though if you are there for vacation.
They even have a larger 3 bedroom cottage if you need a little more space. All in all, perfect choice for the B&B; feel but family friendly! -

I was in Highlands for a Destination Wedding and stayed at the Colonial Pines Inn two nights. Donna was the perfect hostess and treated us each morning to a fantastic breakfast as well as very helpful information on the surrounding area and interesting places like the Bascom to visit. She also provided me with good directions home which was the perfect route to sightsee without all the curves I had experienced coming up. The room was perfect and the bed could have not been more comfortable. I recommend Colonial Pines Inn with no exception!

Our yearly trek to Highlands, NC has always been a treat -- no matter the time of year we choose. N-e-v-e-r have we stayed at a B&B; in our lives anywhere, but this time we decided to give it a try. We like our privacy and found a tantalizing prospective place at Colonial Pines Inn B&B.; Right away we liked the property setting amongst the huge rhododendrons (not yet in bloom though). We had chosen the 4 room unit separate from the main house. And approaching the front door steps we knew we had made no mistake.
Walking up the stairs we were already taken by the large deck joining the front door -- perfect for morning coffee or lunch or reading. The two bedrooms and combo kitchen/dining/living room were perfect in its decor and style. Spotlessly clean and highly quaint and cozy, it was all entirely more than satisfying. The rooms in the main building are superior in decor, and there is plenty of coffee, teas, and munchy sweet treats into the evening.
If you like watching pine squirrels, grey squirrels, orioles, jays, chipmunks and other wildlife, you'll find all these on the grounds of Colonial Pines Inn.
Oh -- and once you show up for breakfast and partake of the special recipes on your morning plate, you'll find yourself considering how you might stay just one more night to see what the fare will be the next morning. Chris and Donna, the owners, know how to set the hook and reel you in. We'll be back -- for sure.
