McMillan's Lake Retreat - a large family home on Lake Sequoyah with great views of the lake. Private location at the end of the point. There is a path to the lake where you will find a dock, and canoe. The house has a large gathering room with dining area, open kitchen, and living room with wood burning stone fireplace, and CATV/DVD/ wireless internet. Large wrap a round deck- mostly covered with chairs for enjoying the lake view. Main level has three bedrooms- Mst (Queen) has private bath, other two bedrooms (Queen, 2 twins) that share a full bath. We have rented this place a number of times and always enjoy it. It is spacious and great for extended families. It is so well equipped that we found everything we needed for cooking, relaxation and entertainment. The porch with deck chairs, rockers and hammock has a great view of the lake and entices you to relax. The teenagers enjoyed the movies, books and canoe that come with the rental.
There is a bit of a mildew smell. We kept the windows and doors open and fans turned on to air it out as much as possible.
This property is close to hiking trails, waterfalls, and shopping so there is plenty to do. My favorite reason for renting this property is the porch and access to Lake Sequoyah. -

Four couples ventured to highlands and the McMillan cabin for another friend's wedding and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. The cabin felt homey and fit all of us perfectly. The lake and canoe provided a perfect little getaway. Thank you.

Older spacious house on the lake in Highlands, N.C., great view. House is huge with a lot of living space, great house for a large family. Only down side was no a/C, mid 80's during the day, but at night we opened all windows and it was very comfortable (upper 60's). Rental price was better than expected, we will stay at the McMillan house again!
