New OrleansAsa's log cabin
Left on 12/02/2011 for a stay in November 2011
We really looked forward to staying in a true log cabin, and that part was fine. We found it comfortable. The cabin was very clean when we arrived.
One problem was the lighting. In the evening, the lighting was minimal and had difficulty reading.
Our second problem was something we found the last 2-3 days. At first, we thought we saw mouse droppings, then we noticed holes in some plastic bags. The day before we left, when we went to wash towels and kitchen towels (along with a mitten pot holder), that were on top of the washing maching, the thumb of the mitten was eaten away, pieces of the mitten(red) were scattered, and more mouse droppings. I don't know if it's one or more.
I know we'll return to Highlands again, and probably around Thanksgiving, but I think I would want something that had better lighting. The other matter can be corected. -

We liked asa's cabin very much, however there were some things that need to repaired. The railing on the patio, lights on the path so when you come in at night you can see, fire extinguisher in kitchen and the furniture cabinet in the guest bedroom was falling apart, it needs to be replaced with a set of dresser drawers or something.
