Perched high on a ridge in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Laurel Edge affords breathtaking long range views for as far as the eye can see and is situated conveniently between the quaint mountain towns of Highlands, NC and Dillard, GA. Located in the upscale neighborhood of Highland Gap, this home’s sensible floor plan allows friends and family to enjoy each others company but also has enough room to spread out for some well deserved quiet time.

The main level of the home features the master bedroom with private bath, glass French doors opening to the deck and one of our favorite parts of the home, the large picture window making the mou...ntains the first thing you see each morning when you wake. The main level also features hard wood floors throughout, cathedral ceilings and a wood burning stove in the living room, a sleeper sofa and mountain views in the living room, a powder room, a generously sized eat-in kitchen, separate dining room and a very welcoming open and sunny deck where you can enjoy a meal, kick back with a book or pour yourself a glass of wine while you take in the endless view.

In the lower level of the home you’ll be entertained for hours with a fuse ball table, game table for games galore, two twin beds, TV and access to its own open and screened deck from the family room. You’ll also find another private sleeping area equipped with a sleeper sofa and guest bathroom, a separate entry from parking area into the family room and another entry area through the garage.

The grounds are truly spectacular too with a sunset swing on top of your own rock cliff and lush, native mountain laurel and rhododendron everywhere, to name just a few.Read more

When its time to venture out, you’ll find plenty to do. Tap into your adventurous side with a zip line tour, summer turf tubing, trout fishing, mountain biking, horseback riding and tons of hiking trails, picnic areas and waterfalls. Even the cooler months have some outdoor fun in store with winter snow tubing and ice skating, both only minutes away. When heading into Dillard, be sure to visit the historic Dillard House for more food than you can imagine and have fun tinkering around in the various antique shops.

Looking for a little fine dining, shopping and the arts? Head into Highlands for an experience second to none. Park the car, take a stroll down Main Street and be sure not to forget about the various side streets filled with more fabulous shops, pubs and restaurants. Take in the visual arts at The Bascom, enjoy some local theater at the Performing Arts Center and the Highlands Playhouse or spoil yourself to a day at the spa at the Old Edwards Inn.
