Located only minutes from the beach, this home makes for an excellent family vacation. The home was recently repainted and wood floors were installed to the kitchen and living area.

Great location; 1 block from beach and walking distance(~1/2 mile) to Coligny Circle. Not fancy but a good value. The unit comfortably accomodated 7 adults. (adult children and spouses). Great beach, busy but not crowded.

Ideal for two families traveling together on a budget. The house is almost an a-frame split in the middle by the common areas: living, kitchen, dining. Two bedroom apartment on each side neatly separates the two families. Everything was in working condition, we did not have any technical mishaps during our 1 week stay. It is the 2nd row of houses, right behind the beachside villas. Access to the beach was a 2 minute walk. That section of the beach is nearly 1/2 mile away from the hotels so it is pretty quiet, no need to constantly scan the beach for the safety of your kids.
One word of caution to people that have previously experienced earthquakes (Los angeles anyone!?). This house in on stilts. First time the laundry machine starts spinning we were all out in the driveway in less than 10 seconds. It felt like a 3 Richter right under your dinning room table. Dinning table only accommodates 6, so kids will eat at the kitchen bar.
Nothing to do with the house but with the SC beaches in July. Water is not warm, is nearly hot, ready to brew your cup of tea. Imagine that you're toasting on the beach and when you walk in the water, the water still feels hot. Nothing wrong with that, except that's the perfect environment for all jelly fish and especially that nasty portuguese manowar. Out of 9 people in our party, 4 got hit. While you may fool yourself with some vinegar initially, it will come back to you in precisely 7 days with a nasty, itchy swelling. It has now been almost 3 weeks and the scaring is still visible, though less itchy.Response from Resort Rentals of Hilton Head Island - 08/09/2011

We used this house as an overflow for our large extended family... we have rented an oceanfront house on Dune Lane for ten years, but our family has gradually outgrown it...so the Shore House was a lifesaver when we needed more bedrooms! Looking forward to renting it again next summer as soon as plans are firmed up. Thanks for the good service!

The shore house was very nice and clean. Plenty of room with a very nice porch included. The location was outstanding, right across the street from the beach, and very close to dining and shopping areas. The rental staff was friendly and professional. I would recommend this rental property to anyone.

Nice beach house just off the beach. It was so nice to be able to walk 2 minutes and be at the ocean! The front porch is a nice place to have a cup of coffee in the morning and read the paper or a book. The house had everything you would need, and the beds were comfortable. Showers were nice and the washer and dryer in the house was a welcomed convenience. The only thing we missed was a lack of anything to take to the beach. It would have been nice to have a beach chair we could borrow instead of having to buy one once we arrived at the island. Overall, it was a good experience for us and we will definitely stay here again.

Walk to the beach and back for lunch. No crowds, morning walks on the beach. Everything was clean and in working order.Plenty of kitchen utensils.
Sofa bed was not the most comfy. TV and wireless internet worked well.

This is a good place to stay--kitchen well stocked and the place is kept up. Our group has stayed at this place probably 8 of the last 10 years. We were disappointed they removed the tennis benefit a few yrs ago and also the wireless internet was missing this year--that was a nice touch last year.
Beds were fairly good -- but I think it's time some of them were evaluated for replacement.
As usual the realty company checks on things well--but they get a litte put out when you want extra keys--act like it's an issue for them----we had 4 separate families that needed a key each but we got by with 3--- They are a little slow getting things inspected- we should not have to wait until 4-5:00 to get in a place particularly if it was not rented the week before. But overall it was a good experience and these few concerns are minor- -

Located 1/2 block from the beach this home is ideal for families with youngsters. The one floor layout was perfect for our family which includes a three and one year old. The five block walk from Coligny Square's shops and restaurants is convenient yet you're just far away enough to enjoy a less crowded area of the beach.
