Happy to report 6 Dinghy was a perfect fit for our family of 4 adults and 3 children. Everyone had privacy, space, and the ability to walk out onto the beach any time of day without having to cross the road. Beach is gorgeous and not too crowded at this section of the island.
House met our expectations nicely: kitchen well-outfitted with enough supplies to allow more sophisticated cooking and three sets of dishes and oodles of cups and glasses meant we only had to run the dishwasher once a day.
Beds comfortable, newer baths were nice. Pool and spa were gorgeous and used all day long when not at the beach.
Any small problems were identified and handled in a timely manner by Destination Vacation. The main house aC did seem a bit testy on a couple of the hottest days--they ask that it not be turned down below 74 degrees. There is a separate aC unit for the upstairs master suite.
All in all, would recommend this home for those seeking superior proximity to beach, walkable/bikable to small services (small market, bike shop, restaurant) at Palmetto Dunes, a house that is beachy with a great pool, and not so precious that you worry constantly the kids will spoil it. It allowed the grandparents to live quietly upstairs while the young exuberant family had their own downstairs quarters. We loved it, as it was just right for us. We would certainly rent this home again. Read more
We are thrilled this guest enjoyed 6 Dinghy so much, and we agree it's a wonderful vacation home! Thank you for your feedback, and regarding the AC, please know the owner will be addressing the AC in the off-season by replacing or rerouting the unit to make it more efficient and effective. Any inconsistencies with the AC will be resolved for 2014 rentals!

We stayed at #6 Dinghy from June 29 - July 6, 2013. The house was fabulous - better than the advertisement stated. The pool/hot tub/ deck area was perfect for outdoor fun and grilling. Just a short walk to the perfect family beach. The Island has everything, biking, tennis, golf, boating, fishing, shopping, restaurants. We (four adults and 3 children) were all sad when the week ended and wanted to stay longer. The rental agency welcomed us and was available if we needed anything.

Thanks you so much for the loan of your fantastic house. We have gone for two years and hope to continue the same date until all of the grandchildren are in school.(and then some!!)
We had to skip a year because of a new birth but when we returned this year we found that everything was just as nice as before. Thanks for maintaining and keep the house so well!!
Because work schedules and distances we don't get together much so a week a the beach is enjoyed by everyone.. It is nice to hear the grown children and grandchildren laughing and enjoying each other! Thanks
Stayed at this house over Memorial Day with my family including a toddler and infant. The pool/ spa area was very nice and the proximity to the beach was great. That's why I'm giving this house a 3. However, the house left much to be desired. It looks nice but has some major flaws. The windows are covered with horrible blinds, many of which don't even fully close. This was horrible because the light woke our kids up much too early, leaving them cranky and poorly rested. The floors all creak - it's hard for people to walk around without disturbing others. There were cockroaches everyone and with a little one crawling around, this was disturbing. The temperature in the house was very erratic - one room was 80 degrees while others were in the upper 60's even though the thermostat was set at 74 degrees (according to the owner, you can't set it lower than that because it will harm the aC system). For as much as they are charging for this house, I would look elsewhere and we won't be staying here again.

We had a wonderful family Spring Break in this beautiful home. The pool and outdoor decks were used every day and it's an easy walk to the beach. The beds were exceptional - highest quality that I've ever seen in a rental house. A great week enjoyed by all!

Service was good. The only negatives were there was trash left in the house. The pool area was in need of blowing...pine needles were an issue. The location was perfect...with a short walk to the beach.

The house was perfect for our girlfriend vacation. Great location. You couldn't be any closer to the beach unless you were on the beach. Pool area is spacious and nicely landscaped. Perfect weather also.

The backyard pool and hot tub area is truly spectacular. A thick canopy of
trees gives a feeling of otherworldliness. From the yard, its a short walk to the
beach which can be taken barefoot. I took my kids often just for a dip and
then back to the house without even a towel or flip-flops. The house itself
has a light airy feel it to and is very comfortable. I would highly recommend it
over more expensive beach front property that get far too much direct
sunlight and miss out on the nicest aspect of HHI - the lush greenery.

The house and location were great. The only drawback was that the
pool area was not easily accessible...through the laundry room and
down the steps at the back of the house. It would have been nice
to see and access the pool from a deck off a main living area.
