Enjoy this wonderful Sea Pines location. This home is just 6/10 of a mile from the beach and an easy bike ride to Harbour Town and South Beach Marina Village. The home provides plenty of space and sleeps 8 comfortably. In addition to the 3 Bedrooms, there is a private sleeper den with its own bath. Destination Vacation certainly is tops when it comes to rental homes in Hilton Head. We have stayed at a few different properties with this company and several with others. Dv properties are the best by far. Always the cleanest, nicest homes. 18 Gunnery is no exception. This is home is beautifully decorated and landscaped. There is good bedroom separation and plenty of room to spread out. The living is large and so is the screened in porch. The bonus is the extra family room. This is a great spot for the kids. It can also be used as a guest room as it has a pullout coach and full bathroom. The only downsides to this property would be that it is not very close to the beach if you are bringing lots of things (like we do), the downstairs master has no tv even though there is a cabinet with cable in the room and the upstairs master is over the garage and gets so humid that clothes feel wet (we bought and ran a dehumidifier and emptied it several times a day). That room can also smell of the garbage because the scent wafts up through the garage to the bedroom. Also the thermostat doesn't go very low-it must be locked somehow- so it gets warm up there. There is an office/laundry room off the kitchen which is handy. However, it smells very strongly of cat urine. As a person very allergic to cats, I did not like that very much. The internet is very slow...probably 3 mbps. Because of this, the wi-fi signal is extremely weak unless you are in the room with the router. Overall, this house and neighborhood are beautiful. The pool is lovely and the gas grill is nice to have.
A fun vacation.

The service from Destination Vacation was wonderful as always. The home itself was very nice and clean but we felt the it was located further away than we like to most locations. We were disappointed in a few things. The pool was very shaded but you did not get that from the picture on the website. Maybe an old picture? Although the kitchen was fairly well equipped, the skillets were not non-stick and very hard to clean and use. Overall it was a great place to stay and a wonderful vacation.
Wonder family vacation!

This house is so much prettier in person. Very clean & nicely decorated, large rooms and a great lay out of the house. Service from Destination Vacation was very good. We had a problem with ants around the pool only, no where else. Robin from Destination Vacation came right over with spray and called an exterminator for us. Problem gone! The only complaint I have about this house is that the pool is shaded, 2 hrs a day 1/2 the pool gets sun. The water was so cold my grandkids didn't enjoy the pool as I had hoped. One other review stated the pool was in the sun all day, I don't know how because there are trees and grown bamboo all around this pool. We went to the beach everyday to swim, the beaches at Hilton Head are wonderful. We also rented bikes and loved the bike trails. The location of the house is nice, close to everything. A very nice bike ride to the beach.

This is a spacious house with a perfect location. A short bike ride to the beach and Restaurants. The house temperature was a bit muggy and carpets need a deep cleaning. Overall, we enjoyed our stay!

The home was elegant comfort. More spacious on the inside than it appeared from the outside. Good for folks that may have some limited ability to walk steps or get around. The house is mainly one level with only 4 easy steps into the home from paved drive. The three seperate sleeping wings were very private. Quiet neighborhood. The pool was pefect depth and size. (Not just a wading pool). Plenty of room to spread out. The living area was wonderful for family night games and watching T.V. Plenty of roomy seating for dining. Would not advertise as an easy walk to the beach but ok to bike. The S. beach club was an added bonus. Much nicer than we expected. We never did get a clear answer on the tennis club and were very disappointed in that. Would appreciate maps be placed in the rental book for arrival for example: Bike path, how to get to the beach, how to get to the tennis club, where the garbage cans are located. (That was tricky)

Very clean house, great location and quiet neighborhood. Enjoyed the two "master suites" - one up and one down, and the two family rooms - the screened in porch and the big dining/great room overlooking the pool. We rented bikes and found the bike paths close to the house. This house would be great for three couples or a family.
18 Gunnery is a very nice home.

We thoroughly enjoyed our month. The home is very nicely decorated, supplied, and the location is perfect for easy access to Harbour Town and South Beach on bike paths. Thanks to Destination Vacation for being so responsive and prompt in handling various items that come up.
Needs- In Feb. more blankets - it's cold.

Before you rent another home in Sea Pines read this!!
Ok so you're coming to Sea Pines...right? Hilton Head is without a doubt our family's favorite vacation spot. All the other plantations combined can't beat Sea Pines, so please allow a 30-year Sea Pines Veteran indulge you. Rather than spending double (or triple) money on the first through tenth rows this house at 18 gunnery is your best bet! Why? Incredible bedroom separation, the master suites are so far from each other, it's like your own home. Quiet! Let me say that again quiet, peaceful sleep! You won't hear a peep (this home is in a area with a lot of full-time residents) huge eat in round dining table that seats 8 wonderfully, perfect size pool that gets full sun all day (some homes in Sea Pines are blocked by pines, wrong exposure), not this one! But the best part is Gunnery Lane lies inside the triangle! You are an equidistant bike ride between South Beach (Salty Dog), Harbour Town and the Sea Pines Beach Club. People come to Sea Pines for the beach (easy 5 minute bike ride) and the amenities which you can bike to easily from Gunnery. Even if you are staying oceanfront you still need to put your stuff in a cart to get to the beach, do yourself a favor: call Destination Vacation and stay two weeks at 18 Gunnery rather than one week at any noisy beach block home, you'll thank me!! Just an incredible home! Wherever you decide to rent if you want it to be worry free Destination Vacation should be your only call! This company only takes first class homes for their rentals. We also prefer the Bike Doctor for rentals (they will drop at the door prior to you arrival), wishing you safe travels & sandy feet! The Rackley Family Pittsburgh, pa

Destination Vacation did a great job booking our stay. The house was very spacious and nicely equipped. Location was perfect, as we love to bike around the island, and this was a fairly central location for anywhere we wanted to go. It was nice having our very own private pool.
Location, service, ammenities, this one had it all.
This was a dream rental!

We checked in on a Sunday and out on Saturday. The house is kinda tricky getting to, but was worth it when we got there! The house is big. 3 bedrooms and 4 full bathrooms. There's a bedroom upstairs with a good sized master bathroom and huge walk in closet. The room smelled musty but I'm assuming it's because the house has been closed up for extended periods of time. There's a nice den, which we used to let our son watch toddler shows in while I was getting ready in the adjoining bathroom. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed for the week. Even measuring cups and a colander! The washer and dryer seemed new and worked just fine for the few loads of laundry we did. The pool was the perfect size for our small family. I'm 5'4" and at the deepest, I was on my tip toes. The pool can be heated for a fee, and so we did that. It was nice swimming in the evening in a warmer pool and highly suggest doing so before summer time. Overall the house was perfect. We hope to go back next year!
Even better than we expected.

Service was excellent from the staff at the office to the cleaning to the pool crew. The house was much bigger than we thought it would be and very well equipped in every room. Loved the screened in porch and the various sitting rooms. Loads of space to spread out, great big walk in closets, comfy couch, etc. The house wasn't as close to the beach as we would have liked, but the journey there either by bike or walking is pleasant enough that it wasn't an issue.
Fun and relaxing in Hilton Head!

We had a great time! Everything was clean, comfortable, close to the ocean and restaurants, easy to rent bikes, etc. The only recommendation I would make would be for the management to have the beach towels and a few fold-up beach chairs already at the house when you arrive. It was a bit of a hassle to have to go find the office in town and get them. This would be easy to fix!
Great relaxing stay

This house was immaculate and had all the conveniences of home - and more. A screened in hot tub was a wonderful way to relax at night, and the outside, built in pool was small, but fine for our family to play and float. The beach was not too far of a bike ride. We had an outside grill and a lovely kitchen and living space.
The services provided by Destination Vacation were wonderful and we appreciated their checking in on us to see if we needed anything.
Great place to come home to after fun filled day on Hilton Head

Gunnery Lane 18 is a wonderful vacation home. It was even better than the pictures in the brochure. We were a group of four couples (all adults) and it was a perfect set up for us. I'm sure it would also be perfect for a large family or a couple of families to share. The pool was great and I wish I could say the same for the hot tub but it was not working during our stay. The people at Destination Vacations tried all week to get it working and when they couldn't, they made it right with us. They were very understanding and easy to work with. Other than that the house itself was awesome plenty of room great screened in porch, lighting, and sound system. It was a little farther from the beach then we wanted (we carried a lot of junk to the beach coolers, chairs, boogie board etc)so it wasn't easy to walk or bike. But if you aren't carrying a lot of stuff its a pretty walk or ride to the beach on the paths.

The home was lovely and the pool was very enjoyable after a day at the beach. We have been coming to Hilton Head and staying at Sea Pines for 29 years and although I own a time share in Sea Pines I prefer staying in a house with all the additional room and esp. the private pool. This is a very special home and I would certainly like to rent it again next year.
