Our stay at Cartgate went very well for the most part. I was surprised to find the master bedroom on the upper level, but it went well as I and my wife both needed the exercise going up the stairs. Here in Ellenwood, Ga we have a stepless ranch. The other rooms were quite nice and comfortable, according to the rest of my family. As I do most of the cooking and preparing meals, I was in the kitchen quite a bit during our stay. The kitchen is very well appointed and easy to reach utensils and move from stove to counters, refrigerators and ovens. However the electric stove needs to be replaced as the burners are not consistent and one or two burners were just not reliable. As for the refrigerators why have two when only one ice maker was operative. Overal our stay was very good.

Cargate 11 is a very nice house at 7 min from the beach.
It is furnished with taste and actually is bigger than the internet pictures looked like to be.
It is surrounded by beautiful trees and squirrels are always here in the morning to great you during breakfast on the terrace.
Only little bemol : some paints should be re-done for refreshment.
We really enjoyed our stay in cartgate 11 in HHI.

Lovely home, lovely surroundings on the lagoon. However the walk to the beach is a bit long for small kids and seniors. Also another bathroom would have helped for the same reasons

The place was clean, unfortunately, it was not like to place we rented last year in seapines. We had to clean our yard and pool everyday with the exception of 1 day. Our pool light was not working and I was told by the pool man they would have to empty the pool to fix it. The leg on the table in the family room was broken and almost fell on my grandson, my husband caught it in time. It appeared someone had shoved the leg in place to hold up the table. That was very dangerous. The beds were very comfortable. The view to the lagoon was awesom. We do love Hilton Head. Our overall experience on cartgate was a 6, with 10 being the greatest. I thank you for asking about our experience. The home we stay last year was a 10. We look forward to renting from you again next year.
Thank You Lynda

What a wonderful stay we had at 11 Cartgate. The grounds were so lovely and the house was posh and private although, amidst a busy resort complex. The lagoon was a nice bonus, especially since we got to view a brood of baby alligators nesting beneath the pier. The private pool made a wonderful addition during the heat of the day. Gotta love the Palmetto Dune Buggy service!

We stayed here for a long weekend and really enjoyed the house and the location. The house has an open plan that overlooks the pool and lagoon, with a great screened porch. We plan to return.

We stayed at 11 Cartgate with our daughter, son-in-law and 3 year old granddaughter. The walk to the beach took us just over 10 minutes which was enough for our granddaughter'e excitement to peak but not so much that she became difficult. The house was clean but it is in need of a lot of freshening and fundamental maintenance - typical of most rental properties.
I highly recommend the Palmetto Dunes location. Being further north it is more convenient to most things than Sea Pines.
Beach Properties were very good to work with in arranging the rental and getting the keys. We did not have any problems so I can't speak for how responsive they might be to problems. Read more

Filthy, Mis-advertised and Defective Features

The home was dirty - floors, carpets, etc. The outside (enclosed) patio was filthy and was simply not useable. The cushions of the patio furniture and the floor were covered in dirt and dust that had collected for serverl, several months. No attempt to clean this area was made in quite some time - there were even bare footprints in the dirt on the floor. This was very frustrating, as this was an advertised feature of the property. In addition, there were dead bugs everywhere, and the home simply looked like it had not been lived-in or cleaned in quite some time. The internet (modem) did not work - another advertised feature. To which, after being so frustrated - I called the internet provider myself. We went through some diagnostics and they determined that the modem was bad and needed replaced. This should have been identified and corrected prior to our stay - by the owner or by Beach Properties. I spent (wasted) several hours of my vacation time trying to connect to the internet. In the end, the rental Co. did send someone over to clean some areas. However, this was yet another thing that I did not want to coordinate or spend time on during our vacation. In the end, I requested a partial refund due to the numerous issues; however, I received absolutely no response. I will not rent this home again, and I will seriously consider other rental agencys before using Beach Properties in the future. Read more

We appreciate your comments. Thank you for providing additional feedback. Although we do feel this home is being advertised accurately, we sincerely apologize for your experience at this property. We did try to contact you regarding the requested compensation and left messages; it is unfortunate there was a miscommunication. The cleaners were called back in to attend to any items you felt necessary. As for the internet, we apologize for that inconvenience as well; the service provider is working at upgrading their networks this winter to avoid any situations with hardware in the future. Beach Properties works extremely hard to satisfy the needs of its guests and hope you will give us the opportunity to satisfy yours in the future.
