1879 Beachside Tennis is a fantastic 4th floor 2 bedroom, 2 bath villa with spectacular sunset views from all rooms, and is just steps to the beach. A large beachside swimming pool with a sundeck and grilling area are also available to guests.
This tastefully decorated unit offers a large wrap-around balcony with a table and four chairs, with a view of the pool and the Calibogue Sound. There is a gorgeous grass yard and beautiful tall pine trees that surround the property. Guests will enjoy sitting outdoors soaking up the sunshine while they watch dolphins playing in the water.

We like the location, the view and the price so much that we keep coming back. It's not fancy but is very comfortable which is what we want when we are on vacation.

When we arrived at the complex, we were met by a man in the hallway that was drunk; then, he preceded to relieve himself in the elevator.
We opened the door to our rented condo, and we were hit with the smell of sulfur. The dirty windows in the family room overlooking the beach had broken blinds in the down position that were inside the panes. The mbath had mildew on the walls. Both bathroom had filthy floors. The kitchen cabinets and drawers were full of dirty dishes and flatware. The kitchen sink had filth around it. The stove had four eyes that were not level enough to cook efficiently. The refrigerator had a drawer missing. The carpets and furniture were dirty and worn. The last two days we were there, the pool was half full of water, and one of the elevators were out of service. Our upstairs neighbors were a family of five with small children who ran almost constantly while they were in the rental, drug chairs across the floor, and bounced a basketball. They woke us every morning and kept us up at night. There was hardly any peace. We called the management company twice while we were there. The maintenance man who came to remove the blinds and clean the windows was unfriendly. On a lighter note, The master bed was comfortable. The complex landscaping was nice. I am truly sorry for the issues you encountered and please know that we do have an inspection process in place but evidently we fell horribly short on this inspection! I have personally shared your experiences with the Beach Properties inspector who checked the villa prior to your arrival. I have also forwarded these comments to the owner of the maintenance and housekeeping company that cleans this villa as it is incumbent on them to identify any issues as best as possible (along with our inspector) so that you, the guest, do not have to live with less than satisfactory conditions. I would ask that you request to have me or my lead inspector check your next vacation property (please mention the issues with maintenance and cleanliness you had this time) and they will make notations of same in your reservation. Again, we pride ourselves on presenting a quality product and obviously we fell short this time but it will not happen again.
I would hope that the vacation planner you spoke with was only trying to let you know that we are willing to work with our guests and that you were going to get more space for the same amount of money. Again, considering your experiences during this visit, even a free stay would not have been enjoyable.

The rental unit was nice. It was very clean. Location to view the ocean was good. The only problem was with the water at the rinse station coming in off the beach. This was broken for half the week and we had to walk all the way around to the other side of the complex to rinse off the sand.

We've stayed at Beachside Tennis many times over the past 20 years, but first time at 1879. Very comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. Best balcony views for watching the dolphins and pool. The staff was extremely accommodating - the coffee maker quit working one morning and within 2 hours a staff member was at the door with a brand new one! Now, that's service! We will definitely stay here again!

Compared to the other units that we rented for the week this villa was in dire need to be updated. The chairs in the living area smelled. The view however was great.

We loved staying in this beachfront property. It was our first time to have a beachfront and it had an awesome view. We enjoyed breakfast on the balcony and saw dolphins on some mornings. We would definitely stay here again.

Such a relaxing place to be. Great fishing off the beach, jump in the pool, run/bike from our condo. Super place to stay. We have 4 children ages 4-9, and it was one of their favorite vacations we've had. Thanks!

This was a great condo for relaxation and just looking at the water. It is very big and gives you plenty of room. The furniture is very comfortable. We were so pleased with this one as we have stayed at many of the Condo's in other areas of Hilton Head.

This condo was absolutely beautiful. It was so spacious and clean. A great view of the sound from the huge balcony. It was furnished nicely and everything you need in the kitchen. The split bedroom plan each with its own bathroom gives lots of privacy. It was a quiet and peaful place to stay. Having the keys mailed directly to us before arriving was so convenient and stress free for the time of our arrival. Our beds were made and our towels were in the condo when we got there. Hilton Head is so beatiful with lots of nature. We saw porpoise daily from our balcony. We even saw deer walking in the dunes. It was fabulous! Lots of good places to eat! Everything contributed to our wonderful vacation!

We love the Beachside Tennis Condo's for the location in South Beach and the beautiful views of both the ocean and the sound. 1879 Beachside Tennis is on the 4th floor and has great views of both! The units are very spacious and have two equal sized bedrooms and baths, each on a different side of the living room, so if you have guests or children the bedrooms are very private. While this unit is not one that has been totally remodeled (as some of the others have) it is still very comfortable and the location is great! The pool is very nice and never crowded. There are several paths to the beach from the condo, which is also never crowded. The dolphins are constantly swimming from the sound to the ocean and vice versa, which makes it very entertaining watching them from the beach or your balcony.
Beach Properties of Hilton Head are great to deal with, very attentive and accommodating!! -

1879 Beachside Tennis Villa was a great rental. The divided bedroom plan is good and the views are outstanding. The beach is literally outside your door. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking and dining. This was our third stay in this unit and we will return!

Another trip to HHI is an annual trip we always look forward to taking. The service, although, following check-in, none was required. The condo was good. The view - always important - was very good. The living, dining and master bedroom was sufficient and met our requirements. The TVs were good sizes. The bathrooms could use a little TLC. We were pleased with the location, size of condo.

We truly enjoyed 1879 Beachside Tennis Villa. The villa was wonderful. The lay out is great with the bedrooms being on opposite sides of the living area. The walking/biking trails in the area are outstanding. Great shops and resturants are nearby. The only thing in the villa that needed attention were the drapes in the master bedroom and the in-window blinds did not all work properly. Otherwise, everything was in great shape. This was our second stay in 1879, and we hope to return in again soon.

Beachside Tennis has been my favorite place to stay for the last 10 years. Have never had a bad vacation here! I love being on the beach, being able to watch the dolphins from the room and the 5 minute walk to the Salty Dog.
