2 Cedar Wax Wing is a Sea Pines Hilton Head 4bedroom, 4 1/2 bath home near the South Beach area. This single level home is very spacious with two living areas and a beautiful kitchen with granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances and updated, light wood cabinets. There is an easy flow from the kitchen to the dining area and the living rooms.

Great house!! It was great for our family reunion. The open floor plan made our gatherings perfect. It was nice that each bedroom had it own bathroom. Pool was smaller than I thought it would be from the pictures and a little colder than I would have expected considering it was august. But our families really enjoyed the house.

This house was one of the best we have stayed in. The ranch style meant no steps for my parents. Two living areas with TVs was also very nice. It has the biggest and most well-equipped kitchen we have ever had in a rental. My family of 14 has been renting homes at various beaches for over 20 years. Having a dining room table big enough for our entire family to sit together was probably the best treat of all.
It is a bit tight for 14 people. One couch in each living area is a pull out bed. That would be a stretch with only 4 full baths. This year we were only 11 people and it worked great for us.
The pool is at the front door of the house and I was a little concerned about that but it turned out to be great. Walk in from the beach and be right at the pool. After you towel off you are right at the door you need to go in. -

Loved the home and the location. The only issue we had was the grill - it did not work well and actually quit working while grilling some steaks.

Our two children, spouses and their children had a wonderful week together. The house fit our needs very well. Having a pool at the front door thrilled the grandchildren.

In June of 2011 my family comprising of me, my wife and our 9 month-old daughter, and 2 other couples with similar-aged children stayed at 2 Cedar Wax Wing. Overall we had a great stay and enjoyed the property. There was plenty of seating for everyone in the living room (a problem we ran into with a rental last year), and the 14-seat kitchen table is great.
There were a few downsides to the property, though. The details are all fairly middle-end finishings. The dishwasher, in particular, left a lot to be desired. The bottom drawer would slide right out of the dishwasher if you let it, and the stainless steel fronting was ready to be pulled off at any time. When we arrived, the house was fairly clean, though we found lots of grime on the interior doorknobs, dusty air returns, etc. Not what you would expect from "professional" cleaners. The pool was also a mess when we arrived. I would think that this would be something they would clean on Saturdays between rentals. Unfortunately, by the time we got into the house and noticed the pool, it was after 5pm and the rental office had closed. Extended hours on Saturday or a couple of hours on Sunday would be great. The pool didn't end up being cleaned until Tuesday, but we put about an hour of work into skimming and cleaning out the filters so that we could use it Sunday and Monday.
Beach access was close and easy to get to, a must-have when you are toting 3 9-10 month old babies to the beach.
The discount card the rental company included came in handy and we used it several times during the week at places where we had planned on going anyway.
Overall we had a great week and a great stay at 2 Cedar Wax Wing. Hopefully they will resolve these small issues for future renters.Response from Beach Properties of Hilton Head - 08/11/2011

The 4 Master In-Suite Bedrooms, coupled with the open Kitchen/Dining/Living space was the ideal venue for our annual 4 couple get together. With several accomplished Chiefs in our group, meal prep and dining was easy in the large kitchen format and adjacent table for 14. A very short walk to the near by beach made morning and evening excursions effortless. South Beach was a short bicycle ride away as well.

We love Sea Pines, so that was a must when looking for
a beach rental. This home is about eight tenths of a mile
from South Beach, home of the Salty Dog, shops, and
lots of activity.This home is only a short walk to the
beach.
We were delighted to find such a well stocked kitchen.
We loved the roominess of the home. Four king sized beds
are perfect for families with married children. The kitchen
was nice and big. The dining area had a huge table to seat 14.The home is nicely decorated and comfortable.
While we really enjoyed the pool, it is a concern with
toddlers as it is literally out the front door. For future renters, the lifeguard rentals (umbrellas & chairs) do extend to the part of the beach you will be using, saving you renting locally and hauling umbrella and chairs back and forth to the beach each day which we did.
We would rent again. We had a beautiful week
weatherwise, and the house was a fit for our family. -

We received prompt, courteous and profesional service from Beach properties. The home was spacious and well-appointed with more than enough room for a very large family. All bedrooms and baths were clean and updated. The kitchen is modern with a dining room that seats twwelve. While we did have an issue with the internet and phone, the management company had it resolved the same day.
You will not find a better location, if a quiet beach is what you are looking for. Some houses may be closer to the beach, but not to the beach access. Although it's not on the access, it is right around the corner from it. This is absolutely the bestabout this property. -

The ease of renting a house for the week through Beach Properties was nothing more than making a hotel reservation. Awesome!!!! I'm so pleased with the service and how helpful the entire staff was at answering every question and doing everything they could to make the transaction and stay as easy as possible. We will return next year. Thank you for your excellent service. I highly recommend couples and families to use your company instead of hotel lodging.

Great floor plan or families. Not a bad walk to the ocean, nice location on island for doing everything from biking to going out to eat. Neighboring homes were nice.
Had some "cleaning issues" upon arrival. Master bath shower had standing water everytime it was used and it was dirty and had dirty grout, toilet was dirty on arrival. Soiled floor rugs on the other side of house, had to toss outside during stay.
Dishwasher needs new racks. This was our second time in this house and the dishwasher lower tray had no wheels left on track and made it hardto slide out for loading and unloading. Had to lift it.
The pool in front of the house not exactly user friendly. It is in the way of coming and going, would be better if pool could be located away from main entrance. Pool is smaller than what expected for a house that size.
House is furnished nicely and the beds were comfortable. Loved the separate sitting areas. Wow is that the biggest dining room table I have ever seen in my enire life?Response from Beach Properties of Hilton Head - 02/17/2010

Thank you for your comments concerning your stay with Beach Properties.
I have shared your comments with both our inspectors and the housekeeping company that services this home. You should not have encountered these cleaning issues. As for the dishwasher, the owner is staying at the home now and I have mentioned this to them. They have replaced the washer though.
As for the pool size and location, there is no solution due to the size of the lot etc. We are going to begin measuring all of our pools so that when you rent again, you can get a feel for what you are renting.

We had a blast staying here. The house is huge and sprawling - perfect for our party of 8 older couples. What's so nice is that all the rooms are on the main level, so no stairs for anyone to climb.
The location is quiet and an easy walk to get to the beach. This section of Hilton Head is very quiet and has little tourist traffic.
The decor was a little bit "tired" looking when we stayed there in Fall of 2008 - maybe it's been updated. The kitchen is HUGE and beautiful. The dining table seated everyone together, which is one of the reasons we chose this property.
The only negative is the pool - it's very small and smack dab in the front of the home. Since we went in September, no one really felt like swimming anyway, so that was no problem.

This house is perfect for several families. Each room has a King bed and a private bath. Some rooms have a trundle bed as well. Two living rooms and a huges dining room table. We took two families with us and could have taken one more. We love this house!
